Part 3. First Layer of dust-Seeing the Heart key
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"
"Oh, Mido... Sorry, I forgot you were in my hair."
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"
"Alright, I'm getting up..."
Amisa lay on a double bed with a table full of sketchbooks beside it. In front of her, the floor was covered with a large white canvas, and around it were over a hundred small cabinets with numbered labels. At the very front, there was a TV from the 1990s, with four large characters pasted above it:
"Between the Eye wealth... Oh!" Amisa instinctively covered her mouth.
"You're awake! This bed is huge!" Toosb happily jumped up and down on the bed.
"Were you talking about just now?" Jasky flipped through the small booklet on the table.
"Testing... I... can talk?" Amisa tried to speak and realized that the voice was not her own. Instead, it sounded like an echo she had heard while unconscious. "This voice... Could it be from that time..."
"The voice of an opera..." Jasky narrowed his eyes.
"Huh? The voice of an opera?"
"Oh, it's nothing."
"Anyway!" Toosb cheerfully held Amisa's hand, who was still dazed, and jumped on the bed. "You can talk now, hahaha!"
"Huh? Oh... thank you..."
Jasky killed the excitement and said, "Silly rabbit, don't get too excited. Look around us, the bed, the TV, the art supplies. These are things that exist in our world, right?"
"Could it be that we're back?" Amisa touched the lively Mido. "No, this little one is still here, and Mr. Frog's shoes are here too."
"Regardless, there's one important thing." Jasky pointed around the room. "Since a while ago, I haven't been able to find the door..."
Ssss... ssss...
Just as the words were spoken, a large amount of water tobacco appeared once again. The three of them gathered together, remaining vigilant. The water tobacco seemed to have a mind of its own and formed a sequence of text:
First Dust - The Key Witness: Please draw "something that can be seen but is invisible" within 10 minutes. If not completed, the room will collapse.
After the text appeared, the water tobacco transformed into a timer and started counting down.
"Something that can be seen?" Amisa looked at Jasky with confusion.
"But is invisible?" Jasky looked back at Amisa.
"Another riddle game! How fun, hahaha!" Toosb clapped his hands and laughed.
Rumble~~~
After a while, the entire room began to tremble slightly, and tiny specks of dust fell from the ceiling. Looking at the countdown timer on the stopwatch, Amisa quickly asked, "We only have 10 minutes. What should I draw? Tell me!"
"Something that can be seen but is invisible!" Toosb blurted out without thinking.
"What nonsense! I mean, something that can be seen but invisible... What should I draw?" Amisa complained and shook Toosb, nearly tying her tongue in knots.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"Are you speaking in riddles..." Jasky rubbed his chin, pondering. "Although it can be seen but is invisible, there are too many possible answers... " He observed the furniture around the room. "The bed, the TV, the cabinets, and all these books and art supplies. Do they hold any significance? Or is the key actually..."
"Hey, guys! I just flipped through one of the booklets on the table, and it spelled out 'watercolor54'!" Toosb gave up thinking and flipped through the booklet.
"Watercolor 54?" Amisa asked curiously.
"The numbers should correspond to the numbered cabinets, where the specified art supplies are stored," Jasky replied.
"Great! Then, Amisa, tell me the tools you need. The rhythmic hairstylist is here to serve you!"
"Oh, right! I need a pencil for sketching and an eraser."
"Wait! We haven't solved the puzzle yet...!"
Rumble~
Another tremor shook the room, and the ceiling had turned from dust to small rocks. There were now 8 minutes left.
"Jasky, I think we can move and think at the same time. Maybe the answer will reveal itself through action," Amisa suggested, but Jasky disagreed, "I don't agree. Trying to think while moving will distract us. Besides, solving riddles requires focused thinking..."
"Hey! I found the pencil and eraser!" During their conversation, Toosb had already found the sketching tools based on the content of the booklet. Without hesitation, Amisa began drawing on the paper. "You just said there are too many possible answers that fit the riddle. So why don't we draw them all? At least one of the 100 drawings might be the right one, right?"
"..." Jasky didn't say anything else. He simply picked up one of the booklets from the table. "Alright, let's spell out the entire English word from the booklet to make it easier to find the tools."
"Um..." Amisa scratched her face in embarrassment. "Actually, I tried to read through them earlier, but all these books are filled with colorblindness tests in English and numbers. But I have exceptional color recognition abilities..."
"Colorblind and still able to draw? That's impressive... Then you focus on drawing, and I, along with the silly rabbit and the little bird, will help," Jasky said, finishing his sentence in about a minute as he rapidly flipped through ten dotted books and wrote down the English words and numbers in a notebook.
"That was fast... Don't your eyes need rest?"
"I used to immerse myself in piles of books, so I'm used to it. 'marker74,' the marker is in cabinet number 74."
"Great, we got it!" Toosb swiftly moved to cabinet number 74 and took out the marker. Suddenly, an idea struck him. "Hey, guys! I figured out the answer to the riddle!"
"Hmm?" Both the artist and the reader looked up, curious. Toosb exclaimed with excitement, "Something that can be seen but is invisible is actually our hobbies and interests! Look, Amisa is good at drawing, the shy guy is good at reading, and I'm good at dancing. Aren't these all intangible things?"
"What made you suddenly sound so logical," Jasky teased before turning to Amisa. "Can you draw out our 'hobbies and interests'?"
"The sketch is done." Amisa quickly drew dancing Toosb, magic-performing Jasky, and herself singing. She also added a bunch of musical notes next to them. "Actually, I also thought that music seems to be something that can be seen but is invisible."
"Wow! That makes so much sense!" Toosb clapped in excitement.
"I've got an idea too," Jasky said. "The most likely answer is 'rapport' because we have to work together to escape from here."
"Wow! That makes sense too!" Riding the wave of enthusiasm, Toosb came up with another answer. "I have one more: friends are also something that can be seen and invisible!"
"And 'dreams' seem to fit as well," Amisa continued, her drawing speed increasing.
"Oh, I have another one! 'Bonds'!" Toosb exclaimed.
"'Time' is also something that can be seen yet invisible." Jasky pointed to the countdown stopwatch, and Amisa drew a large clock. Then she added a smiling heart. "And 'smile' too."
"Then there's 'happiness'!"
"Riddles!"
"Family!"
"Fun!"
"Magic!"
"Attraction!"
Rumble!
The three became more and more enthusiastic as they spoke. At this moment, the room began to shake violently, and larger stones started falling. There were only 5 minutes left.
"I think I've drawn enough!" Amisa quickly drew dozens of pictures. Mido, holding a cloth in its mouth, helped her wipe away the sweat as she stood up. But when she looked up, she saw Jasky and Toosb just staring blankly. A surge of inexplicable anger ignited within her. "What are you guys doing? Help me color them!"
"Huh? We were supposed to color them?" Jasky seemed confused. "You didn't say we were supposed to help with the drawing..."
"What?" Amisa exploded in anger. "Did you think I was going to finish drawing everything by myself? What were you two doing while I was busy drawing?"
Jasky was taken aback. "Sorry..."
"..." Amisa realized she had lost her temper again.
"Ah, guys! I've turned on this old TV!" Toosb quickly took action to prevent the happy atmosphere from turning awkward. He opened the nearby old TV, and an image of a canvas appeared inside.
Jasky immediately brought over the advertising paints and brush set. "It seems like it needs colored character drawings. Since the pencil sketches are already done, all that's left is coloring, right? Amisa, can you tell us what to do...?"
Rumble~~~~
The room shook violently, and large stones started to fall. The time left was 4 minutes.
"Tell us quickly how to color!"
"Oh, okay!" Amisa snapped back to attention as the room shook. She used a watercolor brush and lightly touched the canvas. One of the pictures instantly turned into the desired colors. "It's so convenient!"
Jasky also successfully colored with a light touch of a marker. "That's easy. Silly rabbit, little bird, just grab a pen and help us!"
"Oh, got it!" Toosb grabbed a colored pencil.
"Chirp chirp!" Mido held a crayon in its beak.
With Amisa's dozens of drawings, everyone only needed to lightly touch the paints or use pens with ink to color them. As they continued coloring, a sense of rapport gradually developed among them. As the room shook less intensely, they tried to balance their movements. There was 1 minute left.
"Only one left!" Amisa lightly touched the last picture, a smiling heart, and it immediately turned white. "It's done!"
Rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble─────────────────────
There were 30 seconds left, and several pieces of the ceiling fell, cracks appeared on the floor, but the completed pictures remained undisturbed.
"Wow! The room is collapsing!" Toosb shouted nervously.
"Wow, but... didn't we finish coloring?" Amisa, who was about to fall, was supported by Jasky. There were 20 seconds left.
"What's missing..." Jasky looked at the canvas pattern on the TV screen. "Throw the canvas into the TV!"
"Huh?"
"No time, just do it!"
"Okay, one, two..."
With 10 seconds left, the three of them lifted the canvas together and rushed towards the TV. The bed behind them had already fallen from the cracked floor, and the surrounding walls and cabinets collapsed one after another.
"Shy guy! We won't make it at this rate!" Toosb shouted.
"There's no other way...!"
5 seconds, half of the room had collapsed.
"Dream power transmission, Star Point Star!"
"Dream power enhancement!"
"What? What's happening? Ahhhh!"
Jasky used dessert magic to make the three of them step on thin air, while Toosb accelerated with both feet. Amisa was mysteriously lifted off the ground.
With 3 seconds left, the ceiling of the TV collapsed.
"Chargeeee!"
"We're almost there! Jump!"
With 1 second remaining, everyone lunged towards the TV. They saw the canvas touch the screen and instantly sucked them in. The TV turned off on its own and was instantly crushed by debris as the entire room collapsed.
