: Okay… where do I start pal?
: Time, character, place….. Sometimes I wonder if you have any computation power.
: Ok ok…. It was 2033, a time when human inventiveness and advancement reached its zenith. The skyline in Dubai shimmered with architectural marvels and wonders with the recent addition of the Desire Obelisk, soaring at a staggering 1.3 kilometers and casting a shadow over the once-revered Burj Khalifa. A marvel that produces its own clean energy and recycles waste to an extremely high efficiency.
Indonesia has developed the first floating island 4 km long fully maintained by a 5 powerful supercomputer… kind of like a council of super computers…. That was crazy… anyway.
This age witnessed a seismic change in energy dynamics, with 70% of the world’s energy coming from renewable, clean sources. Nuclear accounted for 20%, while oil and coal that were part of the past reduced to a mere 10%--the relics of the past. The digital world had become a playground of fast internet connections reaching up to an astounding maximum of 10,000 Gbp/s with at least a minimum of 5 Gbp/s being offered even in third world countries by Star-link the main world internet provider.
Through this, Android dominated ushering in a new era of virtual projection and smooth operating keyboard projections as Apple shares begin to fall due to lack innovation leading over-priced items hence their shops are always on the losing end because millennials stopped buying into their overpriced low quality limited technology products. With AI technology perpetually observing, viruses and hackers have vanished into thin air and gone obsolete. From 2025 onwards, societal metrics have soared; universal standard living is better than it has ever been and better payment conditions leading to dropped suicide rates worldwide.

: You asked me to remind you if you ever went on non-associated tangent, character and place.
: … sassy.
In the early days of March 2033, Alex faced a life-altering accident that flipped his whole life upside down. Fate is a fickle mistress some would say, and fate that day decided that it would deal him a cruel hand.
It was a mundane afternoon, the sun casting long shadows across the bustling streets as cars hummed along. Alex, a first year radiology resident with dreams as vast as the sky (in black, white and shades of grey), was en-route to his favorite spot, the pier where he enjoyed fishing, when a nearly fatal accident occurred as the screech of brakes echoed through the parking lot where a father trying to teach his son to drive lost control and car flew straight at Alex. One second, he had his fishing gear, foldable chair and an umbrella in his hand, the next second, he was staring at his flippers soaring in the sky as his body was being pulled mercilessly by gravity towards the asphalt below. Then DARKNESS.
The background noise of a blaring horn pierced the air moments before impact and was fading slowly soon after.
To a bystander the collision was instantaneous, a cracking of twisted metal, shattered glass and if you listen closely snapping bones, and in its aftermath, a deafening silence.
