A new day arrived at the Loud House, and Alastor woke up, full of energy. In his room/radio station, he put on his favourite song on the gramophone, “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile”.
“Well, time to see how the Louds are doing. It should be afternoon for them,” he said.
Alastor teleported himself outside his room. Business as usual, chaos reigned in the house, but Alastor enjoyed it in silence.
However, one thing he noticed was Lori returning to her room, humming happily.
Amused, Alastor teleported himself into the girl’s room. Luckily, Leni wasn’t there, so he could have a private talk with the oldest sibling.
“You look lively today, my dear.” He commented. “Did something fun happen at school?”
Lori flinched. “Alastor! Don’t come into my room all of a sudden!”
Alastor chuckled. “Sorry, sorry. But come on, then!” He laid down on Lori’s bed and looked at the girl as his grin became wider. “Spill the tea, darling! I’m all ears!”
Lori raised an eyebrow. “Never thought I’d heard you using modern phrases like “spill the tea”.”
“My friend Rosie teaches me some of the youngster’s slang once in a while.” The Radio Demon explained. “But tell me, what made you so happy?”
Lori laughed. “A boy asked me out! I’m gonna go on a date!”
“SPLENDID!” He hugged Lori, laughing happily. “That’s delightful news, my dear! Who’s the lucky fellow?”
“His name is Roberto, but friends call him Bobby,” said Lori. “He’s kind, sweet, handsome…”
Lori proceeded to talk about Bobby’s qualities for 20 bloody minutes to Alastor, who barely listened most of the time.
“Sounds like you’re already head-over-heels for this Hispanic fellow, my dear.” The demon chuckled.
“I guess I am.” Lori softly chuckled. “Oh, I'm literally so excited! I can't wait for tomorrow!”
“I'm sure of that.” said Alastor, “I’ll leave you be, have fun with your date!” He disappeared into his shadow.
He reappeared back in his room, and his smile became even more wide.
“And I'm gonna make sure you will have fun, my dear…”
Hours later, Lori left the house and took the family's car, Vanzilla.
Alastor followed her outside, and changed into his human disguise, making him look like how he was before he died: Short brown hair, brown eyes, and darker skin.
“Hey, Al!” A raspy female voice called him, it was Lynn Jr, who had played football in the backyard before. “Wanna play with me?”
“I’m sorry, dear, but I’m a bit busy at the moment,” said Alastor, then, he got an idea. “No, actually…”
The demon whispered about the date to Lynn Jr
“Lori’s got a date?!” She said in shock.
“Correct! And I’m gonna follow them to make sure everything goes smoothly! Care to join?” said Alastor.
“Sure!” said Lynn Jr, “If he’s a bad guy, I’m gonna kick his butt so hard…”
“And I assure you I will help you with that if that’s the case. Now, come along!” Alastor offered the girl his hand, which she took and the two vanished in his shadow.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
They emerged from it in a park. As the two saw Lori, Alastor and LJ hid behind a tree.
Lori went to hug Bobby, a young Hispanic man with short dark hair, a short goatee and a relaxed expression.
“That guy is Lori's date?” Lynn Jr whispered., “He looks like a dork.”
“He probably is one, my dear,” said Alastor. The two eavesdropped on Lori and Bobby’s conversation.
“So, I booked for us at Jean Juan’s French Mex,” said Bobby.
“The French-Mexican restaurant?! I've always wanted to go there!” said Lori, excited. “It’s sooo romantic!”
“Great! Let’s go, then!” said Bobby.
“Do we really have to watch them being all lovey-dovey?” Lynn Jr asked.
“Of course.” said Alastor, “We don’t know when and if something will happen. Come on, my dear, this is just the beginning!”
Alastor and Lynn Jr silently followed the couple through the town. As for Lori and Bobby, while rather a bit shy, they kept giving each other lovely looks as they kept walking.
They arrived at the restaurant, and Bobby, like a gentleman, opened the door for Lori…And accidentally whacked her as he swung the door open.
LJ snorted, while Alastor facepalmed at the sight of the scene.
“Are you okay?!” Bobby helped Lori stand up. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t see where I was going!”
“Their date didn’t have a great start, did it?” Alastor commented.
“Yeah…” said Lynn Jr. “What’s next, Al?”
“Better if we don’t go inside, they might find us out,” said Alastor. “We’re gonna safely spy on them with my shadow.”
The demon snapped his fingers and his shadow followed Lori inside the restaurant.
A waiter arrived at the table where the couple was sitting. “Welcome to Jean Juan’s French Mex, can I take your order? What would you like to drink?”
“Huh, yeah! Well…” Bobby took the menu. “Ugh…”
“How about you, miss?” The waiter asked.
“What’s wrong with them?” Lynn Jr asked, “Just order something!”
Lori and Bobby were too nervous to order anything and stayed like that for five minutes until…
“Sparkling water, please,” Lori spoke.
However, Lori didn’t order anything: It was Alastor who spoke, flawlessly imitating the girl’s voice and “broadcasted” it with his shadow.
Lori was confused but decided to roll with it.
“Oh, yeah, sparkling water for me, too,” said Bobby.
The waiter took notes and went away.
“How did you do that?” Lynn Jr asked, surprised.
“I’m a very good impressionist, darling,” Alastor replied.
As the date continued, Bobby tried to be romantic, feeding Lori chips…Except he suddenly had a muscle spasm and jabbed the chip into the girl’s cheek. And worst of all? Alastor and LJ had to watch all of this stuff.
“This date has been a disaster…” said Lynn Jr.
“And it’s not even the fun type of disaster,” Alastor added. “Although, by looking at their faces, they did have fun, didn’t they?”
“Yeah…I guess they did.” said Lynn Jr, “Look! They’re leaving the restaurant!”
“Remember, act like we know nothing.”
“It…It was fun.” Lori blushed, “Thanks for inviting me, Bobby.”
“No problem.” Bobby smiled.
“Loooooooooooooooori!” Alastor, followed by Lynn Jr, approached the two.
“Alastor?! Lynn?!” said Lori, shocked. “What are you doing here?!”
“Alastor and I were going to the park to play some football.” LJ lied.
“Indeed, we didn’t expect you to find you here!” said Alastor.
“Who are they, Lori?” Bobby asked. “Are they your siblings?”
“Oh, no no no! The darling right here is her younger sister, I’m just their caretaker.” Alastor chuckled, “They already have too many siblings, they don’t need another one.” The demon handshook the Hispanic young man. “You must be Bobby, I’m Alastor Broussard, caretaker of the Loud family! The pleasure is all mine. While this is Lynn Jr, one of Lori’s younger siblings.”
“Hey,” said LJ.
“Oh, nice to meet you,” said Bobby.
“Bobby, can you please leave us alone for a moment?” Lori asked. The young man obliged. Her expression quickly turned into a furious one. “You weren’t spying on us, were you?!”
Alastor scoffed, “Of course not! We simply happened to be nearby, that’s all!”
“Oh please, you were literally the only one that knew about the date!” Lori shouted. “You talked using my voice back there and other than that, you dragged Lynn in it, too!”
“Hey, calm down!” Lynn defended the Radio Demon. “We just wanted to make sure Bobby was a nice guy!”
“Just…” Lori sighed, calming down. “I’m not a kid anymore, you know?”
“Oh, darling, I’m your caretaker, it’s my job,” said Alastor. He gently ruffled Lori’s hair. “Besides, you’re still a child to me.”
Lynn Jr was disgusted by Alastor’s cheesy comment. Who could possibly like something like that?
Then again…It’s Lori we’re talking about.
Lori sighed. “Oh, you always know what to say to calm me down.”
It worked.
“Well, we’ll be going now. See you at home!” Alastor and LJ left.
Bobby returned.
“Everything’s alright?” He asked.
“Yeah, nothing to worry about,” said Lori.
“Your caretaker seems a cool guy,” said Bobby.
Lori smiled softly. “He is.”
Meanwhile, Alastor and Lynn Jr were walking back home. The demon thought about Lori’s date.
“That Bobby fellow is rather interesting.” He thought. “Kind, handsome…Easily manipulated and as docile as a teddy bear.” His grin became wider. “What an excellent choice you made, Lori. I hope you have fun with your little toy…” He turned to Lynn Jr. “Say, Lynn…Wanna still play football?”
Lynn Jr’s eyes shined and a big grin formed on her face. “HECK YEAH!”
The two changed directions and went to the park to play.
