Lagiel Lenory(Chapter 1.1)

Lagiel Lenory(Chapter 1.1)

Landing Point: Wilderness: Eastern continent: 6579.03.21 LB (Loki's betrayal)

Lucia stirred as the sound of nature entered her ears. That in and of itself wouldn’t have been too disturbing, as she remembered walking towards Matteo’s house, the bigger problem was that she was lying face-first in the dirt. Her first thought was that her sister had tripped her. But as she lifted her head she was astonished by the size of the trees around her. They were nothing like the ones back in Lipari, the trees were positively massive. As she was looking around she noticed the lake a few meters away from her, she had mistaken its gentle sloshing for the sea. Albeit the scent of sulfur and pine was still there for her, she couldn’t help but notice the disturbing lack of salt. And there isn’t supposed to be a lake quite as large as the one she could see here anywhere on Lipari, but not even in Sicily. That was when she noticed the naked people lying strewn around the clearing. And so she screamed. Which woke the others up. That made her scream even harder. One which was presumably an orc groaned and without even looking up muttered. “Waking someone up this way isn’t funny.” Then he started flailing around with his hand as if looking for an alarm or something. Then he slowly realized he wasn’t sleeping in his bed, but was on the ground in a forest naked, so he freaked out as well. And that was when all hell broke loose. Another girl, that looked like a demon jumped up and started running towards the side of the clearing when she bounced back from something and fell on her back. As soon as that happened an unnatural calm fell over the clearing once again. Lucia felt as if her panic was forced inside a bubble or a cage. She could still feel the panic, but somehow it couldn’t control her anymore. But it wasn't just her panic that she couldn't feel. It was as if she has been cut off from her emotions. That was when a well-dressed man appeared in the middle of the clearing.

“Good morning gentlemen..., and ladies! I hope your transitions were without problems to your new reality. I know you can feel that your emotions and muscles have been suppressed, but don’t worry the spell will be lifted soon. Yes, you heard me right, spell. I welcome you all to Midgard, a land of magic and wonder. Where the impossible is possible, and the only limit is your imagination. My name is Lucifer, and I was the one responsible for your new and improved physique. No need to thank me, I had to make sure that you would survive the initial encounters with the residents of this world. Now a bit of context, while you lot, are mute. You are in Midgard, and as some of you may have guessed, yes this is The Midgard from Norse mythology, the Norse gods are real, just not in our universe. They had a pact with dad so they could spread their religion for about three hundred years. But that is beside the point. You five are the vanguards of Earthlings, you five have been chosen by the Asgardian gods and me to lead the fight against Loki and his rebellion. You will also have to establish a village, for the other Earthlings coming in a week's time. A lot of humans are crossing over this time. Namely a million souls.” Lucifer has been talking non-stop barely taking any breaks to breathe.

As he was talking Lucia could feel her panic dying down and in its place, she felt an unquenchable emptiness rise. She started inspecting herself and was surprised to feel that instead of the four limbs she had grown accustomed to, she seemed to have seven. A pair of inky black wings with purple blotches were on her back and she had a tail. As she looked around, she noticed that the girl who tried to run away before looked quite similar to her only that she had four black horns curling around on the side of her head. There were 3 guys beside them, There was a lanky guy with an emo hairstyle who looked unremarkably human, there was the one she dubbed orc who was bald, and then there was one that looked to be a halfling or a gnome. She never knew what was the physical difference between the two, but he had green hair.

“May I get your attention please?” Lucifer snapped his fingers to draw back Lucia’s eyes. “This next part is important. This world is under the governance of a system, something very similar to what you were familiar with in the tabletop role-playing games back on Earth. You will need to choose a new name, something others can call you because your Earth names are your True names. True names have power in this world, if a fey or a demon were to get ahold of them, they would have total control over you and your actions. Now to access the system you will just have to think about it, and it will come to you.”

Lucia still unable to move her mouth properly only scoffed in her mind barely even thinking about the world system, as a parchment appeared before her eyes. It felt weird as she could see everything behind the parchments, yet the parchment seemed to be solid. it stated the following:

General Information Attributes Class Name - Name Base Current Modifier Name Level Exp Race Elf Strength 10 10 0 - - -/1000 Heritage Tiefling Dexterity 16 16 3 Casting Type HP Perception Age 18 Constitution 12 12 1 - 6 - Gender Female Intelligence 18 18 4 Fortitude Will Reflex Ethnicity Earthling Wisdom 12 12 1 4 6 6 Nationality Italian Charisma 10 10 0 Trained Expert Trained

As she was thinking about how to name herself a new parchment popped up.

Warning! You are about to name yourself Lagiel Lenory. Are you sure this is what you want to be known as? Confirm Deny

Lagiel focused on the Confirm only to suddenly feel the shackles that had been keeping her in place, unable to move a muscle, fell off. She would have been able to move again, if not for the crippling anxiety for her sister? Somehow she couldn't remember anything specific about her sister. Not her name, or her face, but she knew that they were close once. Before she has been dragged to this other world. But somehow she had forgotten so many things about her sister. But not everything, Lagiel couldn't remember her parents at all. She knew that she had to have parents back on Earth, but her thoughts were suddenly disrupted by the human, which felt weird as she was human once but not anymore.

"So you are Lucifer? The same Lucifer from the Bible? Why did you bring us to this place? What do you want to do with us?" Asked the guy non-stop.

Lucifer let out a long-suffering sigh. "Yes. Yes. Because I was asked to. Nothing. Any relevant questions? No? Then my work here is done. As you have already been paid for by the gods of Asgard, I shall leave you in their capable hands. See you bumble around like the bunch of fools you are." And with a wink and a tip of his hat, he disappeared into a puff of smoke, with a single leaflet of paper wafting in the air where he was before. Lagiel walked over to snatch it up and read the following: "Ps: If you choose a class you won't have to be naked."

Lagiel immediately opened her status back up and opened the class options, she could choose from.

Classes Alchemist Barbarian Bard Champion Cleric Druid Fighter Investigator Magus Monk Oracle Psychic Ranger Rogue Sorcerer Summoner Swashbuckler Thaumaturge Witch Wizard Gunslinger Inventor

And so she sat down to read through the class options presented to her. The one that stood out to her the most was the following:

Wizard Key Ability: Intelligence Hit points: 6+ Constitution modifier You are an eternal student of the arcane secrets of the universe, using your mastery of magic to cast powerful and devastating spells. You treat magic like a science, cross-referencing the latest texts on practical spellcraft with ancient esoteric tomes to discover and understand how magic works. Yet magical theory is vast, and there’s no way you can study it all. You either specialize in one of the eight schools of magic, gaining a deeper understanding of the nuances of those spells above all others, or favor a broader approach that emphasizes the way all magic comes together at the expense of depth.

After choosing her class, suddenly the mother of all headaches hit her. She felt as her mind was filled with calculations that would have made no sense back on Earth yet here they were necessary to cast some of the spells. She learned about the magical properties of plants, animals, minerals, and other harder-to-categorize magical materials like essences. The headache went just as fast as it came. And after that, she felt as if her access to the system strengthened. And she had three new parchments she could access. One was Crafting, the other was Proficiencies and the last one was Feats. She started with what felt like the easiest might be to understand:

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Lagiel only skimmed through this part, as she could feel the knowledge in her mind that has been quantified into these numbers. So she opened the next one she dared, Crafting. There she saw six options:

Crafting Item Name Materials needed Staff Wood Bolts Wood, bolt head, feathers Arrows Wood, arrowhead, feathers Cage Iron bars and casing depending on size Carved wooden chess set Treated wood Spellbook (Blank) Papirus 100pcs and leather for binding Heavy Crossbow Various crossbow mechanism parts, wood Scroll of a 1st-level Spell Papirus, spell channeled while writing it down.

The last parchment featured the feats she had acquired due to arriving in this world.

Ancestry feats: Pitborn - Class feats: - - Skill feats: Quick Repair - General feats: - - Bonus feats: Quick Jump -

If she focused on the different feats, it explained what each did. Pitborn meant that she was a descendant of demons. Quick Repair was because she helped her dad a lot, back on Earth, with fixing things around the house. And Quick Jump was because, with the help of her small demonic wings, she could leap better and didn't need a running start to jump higher, or longer. As she was thinking about her wings, Lagiel realized that she was clothed in a green and brown... dress? Technically she was wearing a red and green crop top where the upper half was green and shaped like a leaf, and its lower section was a red-dyed leather armor. The bottom half of her outfit was leather leggings of the same color scheme, with green calf-high riding boots. She also had a pouch and a leather-bound book attached to her hip, as she looked into the pouch she could see, chalk, multiple kinds of powders, small dried meat chunks, and other curio items, filling it. Somehow Lagiel remembered how to use those items, for different spells. She also could remember a few minor spells, like telekinesis, with which she could pick up small items and throw them around. It wasn't all that precise, but it was something. She could also feel that she knew how to make an arcane barrier if she needed it as well as how to tap into the weave and pull power from it. As if she had practiced it over and over.
