Double tapping the green grass i activated my boots into over drive, i had to eliminate the feeling that i was cheating somehow by using my gear, that mentality was for fools.

Gwen was always so cocky , some things never change. My strategy was so to jump over her grappling her with my legs, that as far ahead as i allowed myself to think .If the battle changed so would my plan.

Running straight at her then I dodged to the left, dropping onto my hands in a similar fashion to a handstand only at a 60 degree angle, then i pushed off the ground using my legs to grapple her neck. She raised her hands to in order to slam me but she was too slow. unhooking my legs i swung my up body forward and off of her. Any second sooner and i would've been minced meat as her hands was were my body was a second ago. In the air i gripped the top part of her head and used everything i had in me to send her face first into the soft dirt. It worked but i had to make sure she was unable to resuscitate herself or i could still risk losing .Getting onto her back i put my arms underneath her armpit, also wrapping my legs around her leg joints.

At first she didn't give in, but every time she tried to get up i would shift my weight continuously knocking her down again and again until finally.

I made effort to stay behind with her even though i was exhausted .When we reached the base it was deep into night time

The group splitting up, me, Gwen and Ezra reached floor 67 effortlessly. This room pure white and was extremely cold was it some type of large freezer? Now this was progress these robots didn't play ,but how did they know we needed this .I'm starting to have some theories about why Remiel had such keen intuition , but i wouldn't mention it now. "Cool" i said ,letting Gwen dump the dead deer on a clean table we left for my room. I was tired but not sleepy , so when i entered the room i pivoted straight towards the couch.

Ahhh this felt great to finally sit down on something other then the hard ground. Oh how i missed these creature comforts the temperature was just right and there was no sign of danger anywhere, just friendly faces.

she walked to the couch sitting down and sat next to me. Laying her head on my should i wrapped a arm around her, At this point i was getting used to the cold bodies .My nose perked up and sniffed the air, she reeked of deer blood. I wondered about the conditions on the planet , did we prepare enough, did - i was interrupted by gwen whispering in my ear

"yea?" i said returning her tone

"Do you now what would be manly of you?"

Manly of me? I have never seen her use this type of language , lets see where this goes.

"if we went back and rescued that deer baby" she said in a pleading tone

I was dumbfounded wasn't she the one that told me to leave it? Did she have a have a soft spot, yes and this was new .The only explanation was she was changing , honestly I'm proud of her because i wanted to go back for it too. We were starting to share our thought process ,wrapping my other hand around her i brought her in for a kiss.

"Why , i thought this was the natural order of the world" i said knowing i was going to go back for it

This was a whole new side to her , she gaining compassion and a lot of it. Honestly i didn't keep pets because i didn't believe in owning a living thing. This scenario wasn't even different .

"Look im all for keeping this baby alive we are the one's who sorta killed its parent but i don't know if I personally can't claim ownership over another living thing."

"Ahh i understand ... but were already here and if we take care of it there is almost no way we can release it back into the wild. These species get very attached to the ones who raise's it. Once we do this there is no going back"

So it was all in or nothing, fine.

Grabbing onto the newborn deer my arms actually bucked no pun intend. It weighed more then Gwendolyn which was over 300 pounds. Grabbing her fur baby back before it hit the floor she said "you almost dropped him!! I'll never let you hold him again"

"haha you know it weights like 500 pounds right?"

Guess while she was in mommy mode there was no use in arguing

"well are we going to get back or what"

She just doesn't understand that humans get tired and i was pushing my self already .The only thing that kept me going is i knowing it would be over soon enough .After some good ol monkey branching we finally returned to the room for the second time, this time with a baby in our midst. We only had it for a few hours and i was already regretting it this calf was crying for food nonstop,

wAaah waaah waah "shh shshhsh its ok mommies going to get you some milk"

Opening the door for Gwen i saw Ezra reading something about deer baby care.

"oh goody my two favorite people are back"

"i already knew you guys are headstrong and bad at planning, i really only mean Gwen but i took ut upon myself to see how to care for it" She said while still reading her magazine. The moment she looked up at the deer she threw the book to the side and ran with a super speed up to the calf.

"oh my god its soo cute"

Did these girls get baby rabies or something .Maybe i was more cold then i thought, but the only reason i wanted to get it was the guilt i felt about killings his father.

The wining threw Ezra off slightly i could see it in her lessened approach.

I wanted to just ignore him and go to sleep but in the future when he 5 tons or more that might be a major misstep. Walking over to him , i made sure to let him smell me .Baby or not we still weigh three times my weight, if he wanted to kick me my night would be ruined. First i started rubbing on its side, he was by far softer then Gwendolyn and Ezra combined and the warmness was a fact... Was he my new wife, no i needed to snap out of it. He felt heavenly then i started rubbing his nose and head. Seemingly ok with it i continued , he even stopped wining every 5 seconds.

nuzzling his head into my lap i laid on his side... bromance was activated. He seemed to have calmed down, maybe he wasn't hungry but scared .That made to much sense we basically abducted a baby that was about to get eaten from the forest, then started moving at a few km per hours through the trees. What are the chances we even knew what was going on poor dude must've been traumatized .As a guy i doubt he would want to be babied like Gwen was doing to him though. So i tried to speak to him like a dad would

"Hey buck i know this might be confusing but you'll be alright we just want to help you"

Good thing i was stopped before i could even get to injure the Father , i wouldn't be able to look at Buck with a straight face.

Raising his head he smashed his head against mine in a headbutt.

ACK that hurt alot but i knew he was being affectionate so i had to act like a father figure .I headbutted him back then gave him a hug. Strange bonding moment but that it was kind of nice .Man when were the girls coming with that milk it had been at least 30minutes. my exhaustion was finally showing and i fell asleep along with Buck.
