Chapter I: Who's the blacksmith's apprentice?

Arriving in front of the refectory, Lu Xun saw many lining tables. Each table filled with wooden plates and glasses. On each table, a group of disciples was eating and talking to each other. The atmosphere was as lively.

On the right of the refectory's entrance, there was a long queue with people carrying a wooden tray. Positioning himself behind the snake-looking queue, he waited for his turn.

When it was finally Lu Xun's turn, he selected a few dishes before looking for a table to sit. He found a table without anyone and sat on a chair before beginning to eat his food.

As he was about to starts eating his dish, a beautiful girl appears in front of him. She had long black hair and a doll-like face. With her cute face, she attracted the attention of the many disciples next to them. She was Xia Xiu, the top idol of the Blue River School.

Showing a cute and pleasant smile, she opened her small lips and asked.

"Can I eat with you?"

Noticing that the attention of the disciples, Lu Xun's eyebrows furrowed. He was actually surprised that she could attract that much of attention.

If he could, Liu Shan was someone who preferred to stay low-key without attracting too many people. Especially now, when he was still weak and without any background.

But what choice could he have at the moment?

Refusing the other party was a bad idea, Xia Xiu's fanboys were probably going berserk. Accepting the other party was as bad too, the many jealous of Liu Shan was probably going to look for troubles.

Can't you just leave me alone?

In the end, Lu Xun could only smile wryly and nodded.

"Sure."

Eating as fast as he could to finish his dish, Xia Xiu was looking Liu Shan who was devouring his dishes captivated.

Noticing her gaze, Lu Xun stared at the foods on her wooden tray and asked, "Are you not going to eat?" Realizing that she hasn't started eating yet, Xia Xiu shook her head. "I'm not really hungry..."

In fact, she already ate several minutes ago. Upon seeing Lu Xun, she took another service and accosted him.

During these past few days, Lu Xun started ignoring her which depressed her. She was a beauty on top of being a genius but she didn't have many friends.

Even though she attracted a lot of attention, either it was a boy or a girl, no one dare to approach her. They didn't want to offend the daughter of a patriarch! Especially one from the Xia Clan, one of the strongest clan within the Silverleaf City.

Apart from the nobles who tried to entice her, Lu Xun was the first friend she'd made. Although it was noticeable that he was interested in her, he was shy and didn't look at her with lustful eyes. She knows that she'll bring him a lot of troubles approaching him, but even so, she didn't want to feel lonely again.

"Since you don't intend to eat your foods, do you mind if I..." Finishing his foods, Lu Xun was still hungry. Pointing at the foods in front of Xia Xiu, he asked embarrassed.

The crowd who were listening attentively almost fell on the ground.

Are you kidding us?

You're eating with a beautiful girl and yet you're only interested in eating?!

Hearing Lu Xun's words, Xia Xiu was first a little surprised. She didn't expect that he was going to talk to her so suddenly. After a giggle, she nodded her head while saying, "Eat your fill." Before showing a ravishing smile.

Since Lu Xun was ignoring her since these past few days, she was happy to know that Lu Xun didn't ignore her anymore.

In fact, Lu Xun just wants to fill his stomach. The Soul-Spirit Flux consume a great amount of body energy. Without filling his body energy, how could Lu Xun cultivate it later on?

If Xia Xiu knows the truth, she'll be on the verge of crying.

Finishing Xia Xiu's foods, Lu Xun stood up and was about to leave the refectory.

"Wait..." Wanting to ask what Lu Xun intended to do about his duel against Dong Bai, Xia Xiu's words didn't come out. Noticing her worried expression, Lu Xun muttered a few words. "You don't need to worry about me." Before leaving the refectory.

Returning to his room, Lu Xun meditated the Soul-Spirit Flux for two hours before going to sleep. On the same day, he died and reincarnated. In his mind, two days already passed without him sleeping. His mind was a total mess and he was totally exhausted from the event that had occurred.

…......

The next morning, Lu Xun was strolling around the Silverleaf City.

At the moment, Lu Xun only have around two Silver bars in his pocket. It was the money that Lu Xun saved to buy low-grade medicinal plants.

Right now, he wants to find a stable way to make money as fast as possible. Without money, he loses too much of possibilities to improve his cultivation. It was necessary to have money to buy rare materials such as medicinal plants, ores, equipment and utility items such as transmission's scrolls, Qi crystal, and magic scrolls.

The currency on the Prism Continent was the same as the Nine Great Heavens. There was a total of 10 categories of currency.

* Copper Coin

* Copper Bar

* Silver Coin

* Silver Bar

* Gold Coin

* Gold Bar

* Platinum Coin

* Platinum Bar

* Soul Crystal

The latter currency was more valuable.

The Copper coins were the most common currency used for the commoners. 10 Copper coins had the same value as 1 Copper bar and 100 Copper coins had the same value as 1 Silver coin.

Excepted for the nobles, most commoners are using Copper coins, Copper bars, Silver coins and Silver bars. With twenty Silver coins, Lu Xun's wealth could be considered as average. It was a total income that a commoner with a decent job would earn each month.

After having made the tour of the city several times, Lu Xun stopped in front of a weapon shop. It was a simple building made of stones. With a wooden board above the door, 'Clink 'n Clank' was written on the board.

Entering the weapon shop, weapons could be seen hanging in almost every part of the room. Inspecting every weapon that was in his sight, Lu Xun noticed that most of them were Low-Human grade weapons.

Low-Human grade weapons were the lowest tier of weapons one could find within the Prism Continent. It could be easily made and didn't cost much. Most of the weapons inside the shop were cheap, around five to fifteen Silver coins.

While Lu Xun was gazing the weapons, a tall and sturdy man appeared from another room behind the counter.

Upon inspecting Lu Xun, he noticed that he was a disciple of the Blue River School. Showing a courteous smile, he asked.

"Are you looking for a specific weapon young master?"

Turning his gaze towards the man, Lu Xun shook his head and spoke.

"I'm not here to buy a weapon..." Stopping his sentence midway, one could see a sudden confidence in his eyes. "I want to work here as an apprentice."

The man's eyes narrowed.

A martial artist who wants to become a blacksmith's apprentice? And in that kind of shop?

The shop owner was a little reluctant.

With the exception of certain martial artists who were at the pinnacle of their cultivation, it was rare for a martial artist to dedicate himself to something else apart from cultivation. Especially at such a young age. From his features, the youth in front of him was probably around fifteen to seventeen years old.

The 'Clink 'n Clank' weapon shop wasn't very well known. It was one of the worst weapon shops in the Silverleaf City.

It was suspicious that someone was willing to become his apprentice. After hesitating for a short time, the shop owner asked.

"Do you have some experience in blacksmithing?"

Watching Lu Xun who nodded his head, the shop owner scratched his head still hesitating.

After a second thought, he nodded his head and said, "Follow me, I need to know how experienced you are." And entered the room behind the counter.

Following the shop owner, Lu Xun entered the room. Inside the room, was a workshop. The room was unexpectedly larger compared to the front shop.

On the left of the workshop, there was a furnace. On the opposite side, a barrel with damaged weapons inside it. In the middle between the furnace and the barrel, was a large black anvil.

The shop owner took a damaged sword which was inside the barrel and put it on an anvil. Then, after giving him a hammer that was lying on a table next to the barrel, he pointed at the damaged sword on the anvil and explained.

"If you can manage to repair that damaged sword, then I'll gladly accept you as an apprentice."

The damaged sword was thin and rusty. It was really hard to repair that kind of sword. Even if it was a veteran blacksmith, it'll take him several hours before succeeding to repair the damaged sword without destroying it.

Lu Xun took the hammer in the shop owner's hand and directed towards the large anvil. Grabbing the damaged sword, he put it in the furnace. Several seconds later, he put the damaged sword back on the anvil.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

….......

In less than thirty minutes, the damaged sword become a totally new brand sword. Giving the sword to the shop owner who was still in shock, he picked the sword and took a closer look.

If he was the one who repairs that damaged sword, there was less than 30% chance for him to succeed.

Yet, that young lad in less than thirty minutes creates a miracle.

The quality of the sword didn't worsen. On the contrary, it even became sharper!

Only a master blacksmith could achieve such a feat. If such a genius was willing to become his apprentice, why he should refuse?

He should even be the one asking him to become his teacher!

The shop owner was now looking at Lu Xun with both of his eyes filled with respect. He wants to improve his blacksmithing by learning from him.

After this day, the shop owner of the weapon shop 'Clink 'n Clank' got a new blacksmith's apprentice.

But when the shop owner's acquaintances saw him clinging to that new blacksmith's apprentice they questioned themselves.

Who the heck was the apprentice between them?!
