This set of armor costed 250 gold coins, originally the entire set including the gloves and shoulder guards would have costed 370 gold but Morgan couldn't afford it and opted to simply get the more important pieces. Luckily the set bonus only required 4 pieces, so with the pieces she had she would still have the bonus of increased frost damage and passive cold damage to enemies in a 1 meter radius.

Morgan didn't rely much on gear climbing up the lower floors, her experience in the military and her combat skills helped her out and she was able to save a lot of money along the way. She helped many other players and made a name for herself on her journey, even getting a place on one of the Hunters Guild's main parties. However the difficulty of the Trials every 5 floors increased exponentially and the monsters on each level got stronger and feistier. She was forced to spend every hour hunting for experience and gold, and spending every silver on gear and elixirs.

Even the gear she had now would not be enough to pass the 30th floor's trial, and her current skill level could only take on the monsters on the 28th floor at most. She had a few stat points she could use to spend on increasing her stats however if she learnt anything on the tutorial, it would be that learning through training and experience has a better effect than spending stat points. In the tutorial, players were given a choice to pick a starting class which players felt fit them the most. While they were still able to have access to all the other class's skills, the starter class determined what bonus stat boosts players would have. Most of the time, players stuck to their starter classes most of their climb up the tower, only adding multiclassing when they reached a high enough proficiency in skills in the other classes' skill tree. Morgan chose Archer for the boost in agility and perception, she no longer needed glasses and was able to respond faster to her surroundings. She didn't have much experience with actual archery but she thought the stat boosts were actually very beneficial for melee fighting.

It was about 8 in the morning, Elizabeth told her to be back at around 6 for dinner which gave her about 10 hours to hunts, train and rest. Within the forest was a small grove, a bunch of trees surrounding a lake. The area is densely packed with divine energy and mana, it made training much more efficient and recovery quicker. It was a perfect place to train as it was also owned by the Hunters guild. It was about a 30 minute hike from where Morgan was.

The forest is a divine space blessed by Cernunnos of the Celtic society of deities, all of the trees and undergrowth quickly grows back even after being trampled and deforested. All the bushwhacked paths all grew over and was no longer obvious. The way the Hunters Guild pointed directions was by Painting specific trees silver so that they would be visible from one tree to another, people gathering materials knew not to mess with the painted trees as it would mean fighting against the powerful Hunters Guild. Morgan hiked for a few minutes following the silver trees, she foraged several fruits, mushrooms and tea leaves along the way.

As she continued the trail she felt the divine energy in the air thicken, her feet stopped hurting from walking and her knees stopped aching. If that weren't enough of a hint that she was nearby, the slight sound of ripples from leaves falling into the lake was also audible. Her training potential would have almost quadrupled if she had been able to afford competence potions as well however they go for about 100 gold each and only last a day, only high rankers are able to afford and use them to their real potential.

She stepped out into the opening, there weren't any people training today luckily, she had the entire lake to herself. Training isn't exceptionally fun and people needed to truly push themselves past their limit for the divine energy to have any effect on their skills. She heard there were a few training masochists in the hunters guild but they were all strong enough to have access to better training areas on higher floors.

Morgan changed out of her clothes into a pair of sweatpants and a comfortable gray sports bra. After doing a couple sets of active stretching she started her much needed training. Her goal was to get all her stats up to at least High(medium), all stats other than intelligence required constant physical workouts. Olympic athletes back on earth probably would have had stats up to Intermediate(low), and that's from years of extensive training possibly with some enhancement drugs. Each of the high rankers' lowest stats were probably at Pinnacle(high), just moving from High (low) to High(medium) would take the same amount of time it would take to get from Low(high) to Intermediate (high), most people don't even dream about reaching pinnacle level stats.

Morgan took off her shoes and walked in a few circles to get used to the feel of the grass on the bottom of her feet. She flexed her toes and started slowly jogging forward around the perimeter of the lake. There were several developed calluses on the soles as her feet, she crushed and flattened the twigs and grass on the floor as she made one lap after another. She kept a slow pace, making sure her posture was right and she wasn't wasting any energy in her movement. Years of doing military drills branded her mind with the correct stance, her shoulders relaxed, her back straightened and her arms swung lightly held against her the side of her hips.

Her mind drifted off, no longer even focusing on the jogging as her feet automatically moved one before another. She didn't mind the burning of her lungs or the soreness in her core, she'd probably done over 50 or 60 laps by now and it was starting to get dark. A few months ago she would have been keeled over heaving, but now she was perfectly find jogging for hours on hours. The sun worked differently in Afterlife, every floor had a different day night cycle, the 25th floor had about 5 hours of daylight, which was why the main city was known as the sleeping city. It was around 5, leaving Morgan with only a short while before she should head back for dinner, her stomach gurgled just imagining tasting Elizabeth's cooking again.

She peeled off all her clothes and dove into the lake, it's cold water soothed her body and helped relax all her sore muscles. Today's workout was only a warmup, if she really wanted any progress she would have to get much more intense with her routines. For now she just wanted to relax for a while, it wasn't like there was any impending doom or a time limit for anything, people aged quite slowly in Afterlife due to the system and the use of mana and magic. She basically had all the time she needed to take things slowly, of course that didn't mean Morgan would simply procrastinate and laze around for a couple years after clearing floors.

After a few more minutes of floating around the lake, Morgan climbed out and dried herself off before hiking out of the forest and heading back to Elizabeth's place - soon to be her place too. It took a short while of wandering around before Morgan found the correct alley with the familiar dark wooden door. With a slight grunt, Morgan pushed the heavy door open. The bell rang and Elizabeth peeked her head out from the kitchen door.

"Go get yourself cleaned up, I'm just about done here."

The smell of delicious food wafted from the kitchen, Morgan had to pry herself away from the restaurant and up the stairs. The signs of construction were already clear, new stairs were built and the frame work was already finished. The new floor would probably be finished in a few more days at this pace. Morgan walked into the second floor and walked into the bathroom. She cleaned herself off and scrubbed all the dirt off in her skin, the last thing she wanted was to sleep on a rash. She dried herself off and put on a t-shirt and shorts and made her way back down stairs.

Elizabeth had pushed a few tables together and had large plates of food laid across the table, a few people surrounded Elizabeth chatting and giving her some gifts before taking a seat at the table. Elizabeth spotted Morgan walking in and waved,

"Hey Morgan, come take a seat."

"What's the occasion?"

The familiar towering man with the large seat on the right side of the table turned around and said

"Getting to forget about Guild and Counsel business and just sitting down to have Elizabeth's cooking is an occasion in of itself"

The other two people turned around to see who walked in and Morgan's eyes widened. They were none other than the Guild masters of the Wizards Guild and the Alchemists Guild. Rank 6 of the High rankers Tom the poison master and Rank 4 of the High rankers Olivia the Sorcerer. The table Morgan would be sitting at had 3 of the most powerful players of Afterlife and some how they were all incredibly close and friendly with Elizabeth. It was insane to Morgan that Elizabeth has never been known to the public while being in contact with these powerhouses.

Morgan has worked with both the Wizards and Alchemist guilds before when they had problems with the assassins guild. But she had never worked closely with the guild masters before. She picked her jaw off the floor and sat at the table. There were plates and plates of different foods laid across the table. Double fried Karaage, minced beef lasagna, buttered garlic knots and a hearty pumpkin soup. Once everyone was seated, food started disappearing from the table, Morgan had to refine her mana and increase her agility in order to even get a chance to grab a few portions of food from the incredibly powerful high rankers.

Tom escorted Elizabeth upstairs to go check up on her while the rest helped clean up and wash the dishes. They then sat at the bar and had a chat about the war against the assassins guild and the quests they got as apostles of deities. After a while, Tom came back down without Elizabeth.

"She's getting some rest now, asked me to put some sweetness into the elixirs."

Tom said, slightly smiling.

"She'll be alright, though I still can't figure out how to get rid of it entirely."

Nathan breathed a sigh of relief, after a while the three guild masters made their way out quietly. Morgan pushed the tables back to where they should be and went back upstairs. Tom had placed Elizabeth on her bed so Morgan took her shoes off and laid down on the couch. The fabric was incredibly soft and smooth, but it was just tough enough to be comfortable. It wasn't long until sleepiness took over and the night moved on.
