Instead of simply leading to another chamber, Yoreno discovered that the tunnel corridor dropped down. At least the corridor was large enough for them all to stand up in as they glanced down at the web-covered tunnel. Except what was different here, was that the webbing wasn’t thick, otherwise it would have prevented the spiderling from being able to adequately travel within the nest.
Dantera shivered.
“Are you all right?” Yoreno asked.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
“Of course I am. I just hate them is all.”
“Me too,” Yoreno said with a nod.
“Are we not going to fire the nest here?” Xanderial asked.
Yoreno shook his head. “We don’t know how far down this goes. There could be more tunnels and drop offs.”
“And besides,” Dantera said. “The spiderling will not be killed by a simple torching of its nest.”
“You said it might have magical capabilities?”
“Si.”
Xanderial took in a deep breath. “Do we not have any rope?”
“No, we should go back and get it,” Yoreno said.
When they exited the crack, Xanderial came up short and Yoreno wondered why he stopped. “What is the matter?”
He stepped forward and saw for himself.
