Aegis
Aegis will return sometime around April.

Aegis will return sometime around April.

Until then, here’s a couple of fun little things about the story you might find interesting.

- Aegis, as a series, will span seven books in total. Each one will have the same word count, around 200,000 words, so likely the story won’t reach its end until well after a decade.

- From here on out, Aegis (the baby) will grow much older throughout the subsequent books. He will be around 1-3 years old over the course of book two, and the finale will have him be in his adulthood.

- There are 4 Stars in total you will see before the stories finale. Book 1 and 2 focuses on the Star of Greed: Book 3 will focus on the Star of Decay: Book 4 features the Star of Carnage: and Book 5 focuses on the Star of Revolution. What Books 6 and 7 will focus on… you’ll find out eventually.

- To add onto that, each book will take place in a different region. Book 1 mostly took place within Polus, and Book 2 will take place amidst the capital of Caelum.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

- Since the Knight is no longer bound to its affiliation with Polus, it will also don a new appearance, as well as a new name, in book 2. Its name will change to the Engineer, and it will take the form of a man. If you pay attention, though, you might find the description of its appearance to be similar to a certain someone…

- Book 1 was my love letter to traditional medieval fantasy: knights, heroes, armor and steel. Book 2, however, will be more steampunk. There’s going to be machines, oil, chemtech and fumes. Great wieldy mechanical nightmares—twisted by man’s folly to create bigger, more dangerous, weapons. I’m pretty excited to design their appearances.

- Book 2 will also spend some time focusing on Aegis’s growth as well. He’ll meet some new acquaintances, bond with friends, and experience life while living under a strict, authoritarian regime where the weak are left to rot and the skilled are treated as royalty. It’ll be fun.

- You’ll also meet some returning characters. The people of Polus are not done just yet. When you see them again, they’ll have changed quite a bit. Very much so.

And that’s the general plan I have in mind for book 2! I’m excited to get to work on it, and I’m excited for the day you all begin to read it. Until then, thank you all for joining along my journey with Aegis, and I’ll see you all again sometime around mid April.
