Chapter 4:

The Ruins of the White Raven

[Somewhere...The day when Mia encountered Alice and her team]

[Third Person]

"Who are you?" 

"I'm the guardian spirit of Wisdom, Aquila. I've obtain all the knowledge known to man. I have chosen you as my master. Mr Philip Le Roux."

"Seriously? Why me of all people?"

"Because you strive for knowledge. To help anyone who needed it the most"

"Oh. If you already made up your mind, do I have any other choice?"

"That's something for you to decide."

"Okay. If that's so, then let's go. I formally accept your offer."

That very day, Philip and Aquila formed a contract and helped people. One by one, they poured them with knowledge and not too long, they founded an academy.

But...

[First Person- Audely]

"Oh no!"

I looked at Mia. "Why shout like that?"

"I forgot to ask how did this piece of puzzle ended up in Mr Faure's attic" shouted Mia.

"Being worried by small thing such as that suggests your mental stability" I said in my poker face.

Mia glared at me.

"Being carried away by small thing such as that shows the size of your container". I said again in my poker face.

Mia sighed. "Why are you speaking like we're close to each other?"

I may not told it to her, I may not realize it earlier, but her attitude completely resembles to my big sister. 

"Hey, are you listening?" she asked while gazing at my face.

"Because I feel at ease when I'm with you as if we were siblings."

"You have a sibling?"she asked.

I looked up the sky, sighed and made a sad expression. "Yes I do. Her name is Frost. She disappeared 5  years ago. I missed her so much up until now." 

Mia pointed herself. "In other words, you can see your sister to me right?"

"Yeah" I answered.

She looked away. "That's quite unexpected I'd say..." she said in a weak voice.

By the way, we're already on our way into the ruins. We already left a while ago. Mia's mother made a clothing for me. It's pretty cool.

After an hour of walking, I looked at the map and it's indicating that the ruins is near.

Mia whined in a loudly way. "Aren't we there yet? I'm tired and starving."

I folded the map. "Guess it's a good a idea to take a break."

Mia ran and sat on a piece of wood under the nearby tree. "If that's so then make me something to eat."

I looked at her with an angry expression on my face. "Huh? Why me? You're the girl. It's supposed to be your job."

"What are you talking about? I'm your sister right? Now go! Do your job. At this rate, your sister will die in starvation. Please..." she said rudely.

"Don't you even dare to compare yourself with my sister! And I don't care if you're starving either way!"I shouted.

Mia smirked. "Don't be so serious. I'm just joking. You said it right, being carried away by small things such as that shows the size of your container. One more thing, didn't mother made us a bunch of sandwiches?"

"DAMN YOU!" I yelled.

[Third person]

Two strangers arrived at the ruins of the white raven, an hour before Mia and Audely do.

♦"So this is the Ruins of the White Raven. This is so cool big bro!"

♣"Drop the act! Losers like us were in no position to admire anyone."

♦"But, even the pure black night sky has its moon and stars who's making it beautiful."

♣"Are you saying that losers like us can also seek even a grain of pixie dust?"

♦"Pixie dust?"

♣"Isn't the fairies are the moon and stars of the night sky?"

♦"No big bro, stars means countless and the moon means superior."

♣" Of course, of course. I'm just testing you!"

♦"As expected from big bro!"

The big one pointed the Raven's statue. ♣"We can sell this and gain countless money to make ourselves superior right?"

♦"No. No. No. No. No. What I mean is the  countless knowledge that the white Raven's spirit can give us will make us superior among others."

♣"Hahahaha. I'm just testing you again. You really are an incredible disciple for a loser like me."

The small one replied with a sincere smile.

They both looked at the entrance of the cave near the ruins because of the sound of footsteps approaching. 

"LOSERS WILL BE ALWAYS LOSERS. MORONS!"

A silhouette figure with red eyes holding a golden spear slowly became visible.

In a blinked of an eye, it dashed toward and stabbed both of them in their chest. It absorbed their life energy which caused those two to turn into sand. It left with his bloody spear.

[First Person- Audely]

"Finally!"Mia shouted.

I looked around. "So this is The Ruins of the White Raven. Awesome!"

A big statue of a raven with the puzzle at its bottom is located in the middle while 6 pillars with one floating book each at the top surrounds it. The octagon shaped floor is made of white tiles. Not too far, a cave can be seen.

"ANOTHER FOOLS HAS CAME ONCE AGAIN!"

Mia brisked. "Who's that?! Show yourself!"

Footsteps approaching us suddenly can be heard. I summoned my sword just in case.

A Silhouette figure holding a golden spear came out from the cave. "You'll die here and now! I'll kill you with my own hands!"

It quickly dashed towards us and attempted to thrust his spear to me but I completely blocked it with my sword. I deflected his spear and kick his stomach. It propelled him away. The monster crashed into the Raven's statue.

I looked at Mia's eyes worriedly. "Get to safety Mia!"I shouted.

"No. I ain't running away."Flames came out from a magic circle that appeared below her. It enveloped Mia's whole body. "Let's work together Audely."

Without any idea of what's happening, I agreed with her.

[Third Person]

In order to increase his defense stat, Audely cast a spell. A water vortex utterly surrounded him.

Mia looked at him. "Eh? What's that?"

"Questions later. First is first. Let's go!"

The monster attacked and Audely lunged first. Their weapons clashed with each other causing a strong propelling force as an aftereffect. While at the back, Mia is trying to hit the monster with small fireballs but it missed one by one. Audely jumped and changed his weapon into a bow. 

"Multiple Pierce!"

He aimed and launched it upward, it blew up and from that, multiple arrows  flooded from the sky towards the monster. 

*Boom!

A huge explosion occur and thick smoke surrounded the whole area.

"You're good Audely but I ain't letting myself left behind!"

Mia closed her eyes, put her right foot behind her left foot, raised her hand horizontally and flatten her palms facing the enemy with the fingers clingy with each other. Slowly, she formed a gigantic fireball. After a minute, she opened her eyes and the fireball released a powerful propelling force. The impact caused the smoke to vanish and it reveals that the enemy got socked by Audely's attack and now extremely wounded.

Mia launched the fireball.

"Cerberus rage!"

Three dragon heads materialized from it. It carved a deep, long and big scar on the ground as it dashed towards the enemy. The silhouette creature produced a barrier but it was destroyed instantly. It bit the monster, swayed it in the air, struck itself into the ground and exploded. Thick smokes once again covered the whole area.

Audely shouted delightfully. "Way to go Mia!" He snapped his fingers and the water vortex surrounding him vanished.

He wiped out the smoke by launching multiple arrows. 

It didn't took long before they realized that the enemy escaped.

They ran towards each other  and made a high five.

Mia raised both of her hand upward and shouted "We did it!" happily.

"I guess it's time for you to explain your power" said Audely.

Mia happily smiled at him and started explaining. Everything about Flare.

"You're quiet the fast learner Mia. Mastering such skill for such a short time."

"Well. I did practice a lot while you were fast asleep."

"Where did you practice by the way?"

"At the mountains. Monsters and wild animals didn't became a problem since that skill startled them."

"Whoah. You really are a hard worker aren't you? Anyway, let's set the missing puzzle piece into its designated position."

"Okay." replied Mia.

And so, the puzzle's finally completed. It glows and produced a map. While the middle puzzle piece disappeared.

"Oh. A map and it leads to a certain place on Mount Shereva. I've red that mountain on a book. Class A monsters dwells in there."

"I think we should go there but only after we informed Mr Faure and the others about what happened here" suggested Audely.

"Agreed. But what about the enemy?" asked Mia.

"I think---"

Before even Audely finished what he's supposed to say, the silhouette monster suddenly appeared at his back and it stab him in heart using it's spear.

Mia acted quickly and attacked the monster.

She aimed her hand at the monster and launched a flamethrower. It toasts the enemy. Little by little, his silhouette form converted itself into a black smoke and vanished together with his spear.

"Are you okay?!"

Audely kneeled down and clenched his wound"I'm obviously not."

"Figures..." Mia closed her eyes and whispered "Flare, I need you..."

Flames suddenly started coming out from her body and out of it, a gigantic Phoenix formed.

"What is it Mia? Why summon me?" 

"Please...Can you heal Audely?!"

"A child's play. I'm the guardian spirit of life after all."

Audely's wound ignites. After a minute, its completely healed.

Audely reassuringly sighed. "I thought I was a goner. Thanks Flare and nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you to. Well then I'll be going. Bye."

The Phoenix vanished.

"You owe your life to me. I hope you won't forget that" said Mia.

Audely looked at her while smiling. "No. I owe my life to Flare alone. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha."
