Ch1 - Cryptic Signs

Ch1 - Cryptic Signs

01/22/27

Unbothered, and bored to the core, Dr. Eli tinkered on a little machine all while keeping his ears up for anyone near the door. Putting the last bolt and screws in place, Dr Eli then decided to plug in the little gravimeter. 'I hope this works…"

With this thought he started it on and pressed buttons. Nervous but unbothered, Dr. Eli hoped the little machine worked 'Fingers crossed that I didn't break this…' After that thought, he opened his eyes again. Seeing the data appearing on the screen of the gravimeter, Dr. Eli couldn't be more than happy, however his happiness quickly faded and turned to confusion.

Looking at the gravimeters readings and findings, Dr. Eli became perplexed at them. Unsure if it was due to his scuffed repair, Dr. Eli pushed his chair to the computer and just as he was about to sit straight. Alarms started to sound from the screen about abnormalities in the gravitational acceleration. From the normal 9.81 m/s gravitational pull to double, and seeing this on the screen. All Dr. Eli could do was stare with wide eyes as he tried his best to withstand the doubling. Sweating bullets Dr. Eli stared at the screen again, this time the doubling of gravitational forces disappeared after only a second.

Surprised to his very core, all Dr. Eli could do was to send the findings to his superiors. And start to call people he knew and cared about, all while thinking of the possible effects worldwide of the sudden phenomenon.

"Ladies and gentlemen,

After the catastrophic gravitational anomaly event two years ago in 2027, the DPWH, with the help of other government agencies, and the utmost support of our president, is proud to announce the 99%, I repeat, 99%, recovery of our nation's infrastructure! And not just our roads, dams, or government buildings, but our private sectors also! In just a span of 2 years our government has nearly rebuilt our entire nation! Be it the public or private sectors! And not just rebuilt to the old standard, but to new, more innovative means. With better road plans, better metro railway plans, and overall better quality! With this, we have built our nation anew!"

"What you just saw and listened to was our DPWH under secretary Pad-" Turning off the TV, the teen then put down the remote on the desk and scanned the classroom in a quick manner before landing his eyes on a young man on the corner, head down, as if sleeping.

Heading to a corner of the room, ignoring and avoiding the couples hugging and showing

affection for each other. He slowly made his way without bothering anyone, despite catching the eye of a few. As he arrived, he slammed his palm on the desk of his friend.

"Rise, Let's go to the board room," said the teen as he sat across from his friend

Startled and annoyed, Rise replied. "Asshole, did you have to slam it? Ask Daitch and I'll go along."

"It's valentine's you black cunt, he ain't here, he's probably with Max. So it's just the 2 of us." Said the teen while scanning the room again.

Annoyed at his friend's response, but sympathetical of what his friend saw all around them. All Rise could do was accept it and stand up. As the two made their way, Rise asked a question. "What'll we play? Scrabble? Chess?"

Hearing nothing in response, Rise asked again. "Raphael, what are we playing? Chess? The district meet is just around the corner, you know." Seeing his friend's head turn, Rise's eyes lit up now getting the attention of his friend. But instead of a proper response, all he got was a side eye that oozed irritation. Taken aback, Rise complained. "What the fuck was that for?"

Annoyed at his friend's queries, Raphael just tilted his head and said. "Are you really asking me that, you dumbass?"

Perplexed by Raphael's reaction, Rise asked something more personal. "Jesus… you're really pissed huh? Jealous that you ain't got anyone for valentine's?"

Flabbergasted, all Raphael did was throw his friend a bewildered look. "Do you really think I'd be one to be upset over valentine's?" Replied Raphael as he opened a door.

Heading inside, Rise quipped. "Then what? You on your period or something?"

"Cunt. You know the car project I've been doing right? Some solenoids I ordered weren't top quality, I thought they were custom made, but when they arrived, their tags said they were made from china. Annoying, really." Ranted Raphael as he followed Rise in.

Ignoring the plight of his friend, Rise opened a drawer and got a chessboard and a timer before responding. "Can't relate, you have your motorcycle right? Why not use that before you fix up that antique range rover of yours… haven't seen you ride your S1000 for a while…" said Rise while setting up the board.

"Fuck off, that range rover is more modern than your family car, besides I cant bring my bike here… I got a talking to… to not ride it to school, complaints about being too loud." Said Raphael

with a sigh.

Looking at his sitting friend across from him, Rise just asked. "No shit?" To which Raphael replied. "No shit."

Finding the genuineness funny, Rise couldn't help but laugh. "HAHAHAHA! you think the guards or Sir Chr-"

However before he could finish shitting on his friends' woes, a sudden crash interrupted their banter as it made them shake in their seats. And then another stronger one, that seemed so powerful that they both felt a gust of wind blowing upon them, with the second crash and sudden gust of wind the newly set-up chess pieces went down, and items atop shelves started crashing down. Breaking glasses and trophies, histories that spanned the school's age came crashing down. Right after the sudden crash or explosions that made the mess.

Using the table as a support, the 2 slowly stood up, scanning the room for the effects of the sudden crash. Flabbergasted, the two immediately got out of the room, ignoring the mess and chaos in the hallways or classrooms. Looking around his surroundings, Rise asked Raphael as they ran through the hallways. "Is it the same as 2 years ago?!"

"No, this is different. The roof would've fallen in our head if it was the same. This one was just a beat of crash or explosion. Quick, let's find Sir Paule." Voiced Raphael as he and Rise made their way across the chaos and mess.

***** 02/14/29 1:18 PM

"Uncle, if possible, can you send ambulances and maybe a few of your men here?" Said a man wearing slacks and long sleeves to a phone. Outside of a building, while overlooking a guard and another teacher tending to a student with blood on his head.

"I'll see what I can do Paule, I'll send 2 patrol cars there to maintain order. But I don't know for the ambulances, there are too many calls for medical emergencies. If it's possible the school can just send the student to the nearest hospital. Ask your principal; if not, then a staff car." Said the man hurriedly across the line.

"Got it uncle, I'll ask the admins to use the school buses. The police coming here to keep order is more than enough help. Also can I just ask if you know the cause for the sudden explosion?" Asked Paule to his uncle.

It certainly isn't an explosion, earthquake, or like the one 2 years ago. In all honesty we still don't know what it is, I heard it was something like a shockwave that washed over. One things for sure though it isn't just the Philippines affected, let's just wait for the news until something is announced. If that's all I'd like to end this now Paule, I've another coming call." Replied his uncle on the other side with urgency in his voice.

"Gotcha gotcha, thank s for the help and bye sir." Thanked Paule as he cut the call. After ending the call Paule made his way over to a woman surrounded by a few teachers and a couple guards, to which Paule relayed what she got from his uncle. "Afternoon madam principal, I just got back from a call and my sources said most emergency services such as ambulances are tending to more serious matters, but he's sending police here in case anything happens. So we should use our school bus to send them to the nearest clinic to lessen the burden on the hospitals."

"We'll wait for now, we'll have the students injured be treated for first aid by our campus doctor. Contact the parents and tell them all is fine and under control, for the injured students we'll wait for an hour… it's past 1 in the afternoon right now, we'll focus on gaining our students' control and calmed down… Has your uncle said anything about the explosion, Paule?" Ordered the Principal not just to Paule but those around her. With the last statement aimed at Paule.

"They're still uncertain of what it was, but it wasn't an explosion or the doubling event 2 years ago. He said it was more like a shock wave washing over everyone." Answered Paule to the best of his abilities.

"Hmm alright, if that's all then everyone should complete what I just said, go on. We don't want the students to panic now." Replied the Principal, nonchalant to what sir Paule said. However compared to the Principal those who were around to hear what sir Paule said were filled with questions, surprise, and fear.

"Will do ma'am." Said Paule trying to ignore the tension around. With these he made his way over to where the students grouped up, where he tried to look for his advisory of students, which he was responsible for.

***** 02/14/29 1:23 PM

As the two friends made their way out of the hallways and into the parking lot, what met them was a group of students belonging to the student council directing and controlling the students coming out and those already in the parking lot. Choosing to ignore them, they got out of the crowd and scanned the parking lot littered with people. To which they found their adviser sir Paule with several of their classmates. Making their way over to their classmates, someone from among the crowd called out to them.

"Rapha! Rise!" A particularly tall man called out, on his side a particularly short woman. Embarrassed at their names being called out, they quietly turned behind them and found their

friend, Daitch, with a girl. Expecting eyes to be on them, the duo took a jog with their heads down, to get closer to the two, particularly to the one who called out to them. As the duo took to the side of the particularly tall young man, Rise decided to rebuke his actions. "Daitch, you didn't have to yell our names like that, you're putting the spotlight on us here!" Said Rise in a hushed tone.

"Stop being embarrassed, everyone could care less for what I did. Just look around us my guy… Now let's go, Sir Paule is waiting for us over there." Said Daitch with a shrug, while increasing his pace with the short woman in tow. Appalled at their friend's shamelessness, Raphael muttered in a hushed tone. "We're not shameless like you…"

"I heard that!" Responded Daitch with a grin. Now choosing to be quiet the group decided to move to their classmates and teacher. Moving faster when they saw their adviser signaling for them to come faster. As the 4 arrived, their adviser decided to question them just as they arrived. "I'm glad to see you're all safe, now do you guys know where the rest of your classmates were at the time of the incident?"

To the question of their adviser, Raphael decided to answer for the group. "Well Sir, Rise and I went to the boardroom after leaving our classroom. When we left, there were approximately 17 people remaining, including Josh's group and a few others." Said Raphael in a well-articulated manner.

"In Josh's group was Ian, Anne, Jade. Is that what you meant?" Asked sir Paule further. "Yes sir, for the others I'm sure it was Lynds, Sean, RJ, and Casey." To which Raphael further clarified.

"Hmm I see, there's still a lot of your classmates in the room… Miss Princess can you take note of those that are currently here? I need to know of those still in the classroom. And Miss Marlene, I want you to take your classmate to the park area, there's too many students piling here and it would be a big help if we can widen the space for the injured. I'll make sure to gather your remaining classmates here before coming with you… oh also Miss Pres. If it's possible I want you to gather the other stem strand to head to the park area. Keep away from the tall trees, and stay safe." Ordered sir Paule to his advisory and class officers.

"Hey sir, if you'd like, I can also message the missing ones on our group chat to come meet you here in the parking lot?" Suggested Marlene just as they were about to leave. "That would be appreciated Marlene. Go on and message them while I wait here." Thanked sir Paule as he encouraged them to get a move on.

Just as they were out of earshot from their adviser, Marlene then announced to keep everyone in line. "Boys! Today, I need all of you in your best behaviors! There will be no one fooling

around. We don't know if it'll be like two years ago! So, don't annoy anyone." To which none of them argued or even echoed what their class pres. said, fully taking the whole situation seriously. Not wanting to suffer the stiff atmosphere, Rise started a conversation with those in the back, quiet enough to not bother anyone, but can be heard throughout. "Where were you guys when the crashing thing happened? As you know we were in the boardroom, during the crash, every single trophy came falling, along with the small little glass sculpture of the campus's logo."

"You for real? That logo on the desk? Susano is not gonna like that! AHAHAHA, you two were the last out of the boardroom… you and Rapha are dead." Said Ben with a laugh, not knowing of the worth of it the guy beside Ben further inquired. "Why? It's just a small trophy right? What's so important that the principal would be furious?"

"That was an antique that was worth hundreds of millions and it just broke. Susano is not going to be happy." Answered Ben still with a huge grin on his face. Hearing what Ben said most from the group turned their heads at the words.

Seeing Raphael beside her flinch, Princess still on her little notepad decided to console him. "Was that a flinch Raffy? Don't worry, it's a fake I'm sure of it, the school wouldn't keep something as expensive as that on display." Hearing her words, Raphael replied with a shrug. "I know that much, it being possibly hundreds of millions is just surprising."

"Princy, where were you guys when the crash happened?" Asked Raphael to Princess while Chuckling at the quips he kept overhearing behind him. "Ohh on the walkway, along with Marlene and Alex. The boys were in the admin building, and we just got together due to Sir Paule." Replied Princess while putting down her booklet. "Say what was the difference for the crash outside? For me and Rise it was a loud boom, then a gust of wind that came over us. Then a second loud boom, and a strong gust of wind that pushed us and items all over. A gust of wind inside an air conditioned room, it's so supernatural." Said Raphael while trying to remember more details that happened.

"Yup, sounds the same for us, but what I saw was an actual shockwave. Boom, ripples in the air, then repeat. It's scary really, it was like a beating of drums. It reminded me of the doubling, like it was God's way of saying to kneel, something like that… now I just don't hope this isn't a signal for an alien invasion." Said Princess, chuckling at her little joke. "Haha yeah. Last thing we need is a green little goblin with laser guns." Raphael added in response, to which the duo came to have a light chuckle. As the two continued to make small talk they turned the corner of the canteen and saw the green of the little park.

Arriving on the small little green area with a few tall trees, but mostly filled with small trees that provided shade over the small area. Overall the small park just made the qualifications to be called a park, the group of students silently sat on the grass, some on the benches littering

around, staying together. The tension from the earlier scenes in the parking lot slowly disappearing as a few start talking amongst themselves, or playing on their phones. However just after several minutes of them staying there more groups of students came to take refuge in the shades of the small little park. As the area started to finally become a little crowded, Marlene made the decision to gather her classmates in a shaded area large enough to accommodate them and their late classmates.

"Star Section 1! Let's change our spot by that little shaded area by the benches." Declared Marlene as she headed over to the spot she called out on. Hearing the voice of their class pres. the group of students all got up, making sure to not leave any trash while vacating their spot. Just as the group finally settled down on their little corner of the park, they saw their adviser, in tow the rest of their classmates. Happy for the safety of their classmates, they greeted them with the waves and a few shouts.

With most of his class in the whole area, sir Paule decided to ask his students. "The rest of your classmates are all here, the 17 our best in oral com. mentioned however the rest I don't know yet. Such as Clark, Gabriel, and Yannick, Roman and I think one girl, which is Miss Kacey. Did they message you class President?" Without delay, Marlene responded while looking down at her phone."Umm sir, for Kacey and Rom, I don't know where they are. But for Gab, clark, and Nick, they're in the covered court area with Sir Kian and other students."

"Ahh the boys are with Sir Bonza in the court, I see… hmmm well for now, I guess all of you can check on your parents, say your current situation and that you're all fine. And tell them to come and fetch all of you now as in any moment Ms. Susan will give the go signal… and students remember, you are all to stay here, I'll fetch you when the permission is given okay? Miss secretary and President, I want you two to keep records of the ones being uncooperative. Record them as there will be a deduction of points, for the Sergeant of Arms mr. Banez, and ms. Luñas. I want you to assist the madam president and secretary. By the way that goes the same for all class officers… and everyone, not just class officers. I want you all to be responsible in times like these, okay? Follow your officers and be responsible everyone." Announced Sir Paule to his advisory before turning his back to return to the parking lot.

With their teacher gone, the newcomers that came along with sir Paule decided to make themselves comfortable on the grass. Seeing the new arrivals, Raphael decided to come to them and squatt sat beside them. "Hey babe! Are you fine? You didn't get hurt from the crash right? Your hairs all messed up. Let me help you." Said Raphael with a high-pitched voice that tried to imitate a little girl. To a young man wearing a hoodie and taking a guitar out.

Leaning back, all the young man did was stare at Raphael with a baffled, puzzled, confounded, and perplexed gaze, mixed with a tinge of disdain, and concern. "Rapha… that's just gay." Tilting his head at the young man now hugging the guitar, Raphael decided to drop his antics and ask of his well being instead. "Ian!?!! it was just my love language… anyways how are you guys,

were any of you hurt? By the way, I don't see lynds with you guys. She good?"

Now more calmed and comfortable with Raphael's behavior, Ian decided to reply in a more relaxed manner. "No one's hurt, there were some screams, and things breaking but everyone's alright, Lynds is a SC member so she's in the parking lot right now…" Listening carefully, Raphael decided to sit cross-legged while pulling on the grass.

While the 2 young men talked with each other, on the side Rise and Daitch silently observed their friend talking with Ian. "He changes emotions faster than I breathe… the guy is bipolar." Said Daitch in amazement at Raphael's ability to change façades. "More like a chameleon, but I get what you mean." Replied Rise while silently observing his other classmates.

***** 02/14/29 1:54 PM

With a phone by his ear, Sir Paule signaled for a student with a short stature to come. "Miss Lynds, I just got a call that our school busses are nearly here, and after they return, there should be a space left for a couple STEMs after the rest of the ABMs, so it would be better if our section can be the one first out…" in the middle of his words, sir Paule paused as he focused more on the words on the other side. After waiting for several minutes, and seeing his teacher put down his phone only then did Lynds ask a question. "Should I go fetch them sir?"

Now with the phone down, Paule now focused his full attention to Lynds. "Change of plans, we'll fetch the whole stem strand, so that means I'll be coming with you. Before we go there, I want you to fetch that guard with the megaphone." Said Paule, while pointing to a guard helping move debris to the side. Not doubting the orders of his adviser, Lynds went and asked the guard to follow along with her. Seeing as the guard had some doubts, Lynds pointed at his adviser, which waved in return, dispelling the doubts the guard had.

Now with three of them, sir Paule decided to lead them to the park. Making their way over with a fast and steady pace, they soon reached the canteen, where they spotted 2 students loitering about, seeing this the guard accompanying Lynds and her Adviser, blew a whistle that got the 2 students' attention. Getting ahead of sir Paule, the guard went ahead and reprimanded them. "You 2! We have here a situation that could've been like the doubling 2 years ago and you're out here wandering about? What grade are you?" With their head down, the student on the right voiced out. "Romanoff Perez, Grade 11 Star Section 1…" seeing her friend relent, so did the other student. "Kacey Xyline, Grade 11 Star Section 1 also…"

Expecting a session of sermon about to head for their direction, the 2 braced themselves. However contrary to their expectation, they heard a familiar voice. "Ohh they're my advisery sir, I'll deal with them in my time. And sir Guard is right, we don't know what'll happen if another doubling happens and a wall or tree falls over you. So now you too will follow us to the rest of your classmates." Said sir Paule with a stern look. Not wanting to delay further, sir Paule

bypassed the guard and his students. Now leading again, sir Paule quickened his pace, and just as he turned the corner, he along with those in tow saw the crowd of students where his advisory stayed too.

"Miss Lynds, I want you to take these 2 to your classmates, and then take with you our class President, and any other class President you know. 10 minutes I want you back here okay? Be it only with our class President." Ordered sir Paule to Lynds as he and the guard circled along the side of the crowd. Without a word, Lynds started looking for her classmates, with a photo she received from Marlene as a reference. As she kept looking around the crowd, a voice in a far corner reached her, expecting nothing out of it, she heard it again. This time much louder, as she listened to it clearly this time she heard her name. Looking behind her, there she found Daitch with his hands on his mouth, shouting her name. Waving at Daitch, she turned to Kacey and Roman. "They're that way, let's go."

Taking this chance to talk with Lynds. "Hey Lyndsay… are you feeling well? I got a tablet here for your headache." Kacey asked while handing her a medicine. "I'm fine Kacey, just enough to function well. Thanks for the medicine." Lynds responded with a smile. "Lynds, do you know why we're going to the shelters, instead of being picked up or sent home?" Roman interjected. "How do you know that? SC were the only ones told among the student body…" Responded to Roman with surprise

"Clark, Gab, and Yanni were with sir Kian and the rest of HUMMS and he sent a pic that they were all dropped in a shelter." Answered Roman with a shrug. "Really, well I don't really know, it's just that once we were on the buses SC members will explain that the bus would be headed for a shelter, instead of returning the students. We weren't given a reason but it's serious, police were even sent here." Seeing that they were coming close, Lynds decided to cut the conversation. "We're here."

Arriving to the general direction of the voice, the three of them soon made their way through the crowd and to her classmates who sat on the benches or on the green grass. Scanning them, she found Daitch sitting with Maxines' head on his shoulder. Seeing this she smiled and waved at him, in return she got a nod. Now looking across her classmates again, she found Marlene with her friends sitting on a bench, walking over to them. She soon got the attention of her other classmates. "Oii! Lyndsoy! Where were you?!" Shouted Ben with a laughing face.

Turning her head, Lynds merely sighed and answered back. "Parking lot, SC. Damn you Bañez" after cursing his classmate, Lynds now picked up her pace. Arriving behind her friends, she decided to give them all a backhug. "Glad to see you're all good" Surprised at this, the three on the bench. Stood up and gave Lynds a hug. "You too Lyndsay, we're happy to see you alright." Princess said in response. "I hope the student council isn't being too hard on you Linds." Added Marlene. "Yeah, especially with your headache, are you alright?" Asked Ally.

"I'm fine, I'm fine, Kacey and Roman are with me. They were hanging around the canteen when we saw them haha… Anyways there are things I need to do, and oh Marlene, I need you to have everyone in a line and I need you to follow me and get the other class Presidents so we can have everyone in a line. In 10 mins, Sir Paule is rushing us..." Lynds replied to them as she slowly got out of the group hug. Hearing this, Marlene quickly got to work as he screamed so that not just her classmates but other students heard her voice. "Everyone! Up and form a line fast!" Startled by their class pres. sudden shout most quickly got up and cleaned after themselves. Not satisfied with the pace of others, Marlene shouted again. "Faster!! More energy! More energy! Hurry up!"

Hearing this the rest hurried up and formed a line, as they formed a line. Most chuckled at their president's way of doing things. Seeing what the class of Marlene did, a few students from different sections came up to her and inquired. "Hey Lynds, Marlene, what are you guys doing? Do we all need to form lines?" Asked a particularly tall and large girl. Answering for the both of them, Lynds relayed what she knew. "Hey Vera! Sir Paule asked me to have everyone form lines and go to the parking lot as the busses are about to return and there should be enough space for our strand. If possible can you also relay this to the other sections so that we can have everyone line up fast?"

"Sure thing I'll get to it in a jiff, see you guys!" Answered Vera as she left them alone with a wave of her hand. Seeing that they already had one other section about to form lines. Lynds and Marlene left their section alone to the other class officers to relay what sir Paule ordered. In due time everyone lined up and formed a little column, on the side of the little column, idly stood the class presidents, and Lyndsay talking to each other. As the column of STEM students idly stood waiting. Sir Paule, the guard and this time more people in tow arrived from the only point of entry. Seeing things already organized, all sir Paule did was borrow the megaphone and ordered everyone to get a move on. "Testing, test- ah okay, it's good that everyones already in line. So please everyone move in a two file line, boy, girl. By section, SS1, SS2, and as such. Now now everyone get a move on, the buses should be here at any moment." Hearing this, the class presidents returned to their respective class. With their section as the first in line, Marlene and Lynds, moved up the line right behind sir Paule and with those he had in tow

"That's what I'm saying Reggie, I don't know if it's true, but it was my uncle that said it. So it's better to be safe and have our students in an area we can protect them from… Well for now we'll see the situ- Ah Lynds and Marlene! You two surprised me, well Reggie, Kian, me and the Guard should be more than enough here." After hearing their fellow teachers' words the two nodded their heads and went ahead of the group. Seeing his co-workers gone, Paule gave his attention to the two. "Nice work in gathering everyone in a quick manner you two." Hearing the praise, Lynds and Marlene smiled at their adviser and took their places by his side. "Now… for those that were late and were uncooperative to our class officers. There will be a deduction of recitation points, miss secretary you can send me the list at a later date. Other than this all of you should contact your parents, saying that the entirety of the campus will be taken to a nearby

shelter, and to pick you up there, the address has been sent to our Teams. If any of you have your car with you, you are still required to follow the caravan of buses. This isn't the decision of the school but that of our local government units." Then announced sir Paule, not just to his advisory but to also the rest so that everyone would have an idea of where they were headed.

Hearing this, Ben, just behind Sir Paule, decided to ask a question. "Sir Paule. Why are they having us stay in the shelters? Is the reason for the explosion a terrorist attack? An invasion?" Not surprised by the question, Sir Paule decided to answer back. "Well, Mr. Bañez, we still don't know the exact reason. But rest assured we have our guards, and even the police here with us." Listening intently, the rest merely nodded as Ben did; however, nearly everyone wasn't content with the answer.

Slowly arriving in the parking lot, the long line of students took shelter on the covered walkway, not wanting to lurk in the hot sun. As her classmates copied the others sitting on the benches and leaving the lines, Princess instead of sitting on the benches like her friends. All she did was gaze at the sun. "What are you staring at Princess?" A young woman asked, breaking Princess's thought. "Ah! Aaliyah… surprised me, do you see the two cracks beside the sun? Or is it just my astigmatism acting up…" Princess replied in surprise. "Nope, definitely astigmatism." Said Aaliyah while squinting at the sun. Before Princess could respond, Raphael interjected in their convo. "Ohh shit you can see it too princess? What do you see?"

Turning to Raphael, Princess passed on what she saw. "2 Smaller suns besides the real run with large rays, pulsing in a rhythmic beat. What about you Raf?" Turning to face Princess. "Ayup… I'm seeing that rhythmic pulse…" After responding to Princess' question all Raphael could think about was What sun?! I'm seeing a rift in the sky slowly getting bigger by the minute and something seeping out of the rift!! Deciding to wholeheartedly ignore the rift in the sky that looked as if he was the only one to see. Raphael left the girls alone, and went to his friends instead.

Slowly looking around, Raphael whispered to Daitch and Rise. "The school really had the gall to leave us here huh?" As Raphael's words trailed off, Daitch turned to him with a shrug. "What? You want the elementary schoolers to stay here?" Daitch responded, with a grin, Raphael replied back. "Better them than- Oh look! The buses are here!" As the words left Raphael's mouth, sir Paule along with the other teachers and a couple guards announced something. "Hello… Students, I want everyone to line up again by section. Your class officers have been given instructions so follow them to your designated vehicles. For the students with your own cars, you are still required to follow the convoy, which you will follow behind okay? Okay everyone get to it."

Listening to sir Paule, all the students decided to get in line. Except for Raphael, Daitch, Rise and Ben, leaving the students in line and instead going to their adviser. "Sir, can we have other classmates ride with us?" Said Ben, interrupting his advisers' conversation with a man from one

of the government buses. Ignoring his student, sir Paule finished his talk before turning. "Ah Mr Bañez…Have others ride with you? Hmm… alright I will allow it but all of you must have a picture while in the car, then send it to Miss Marlene or Princess okay?" Answered sir Paule, not minding the interruption.

Leaving their adviser alone, the 4 decided to head to the spot where their cars were parked. Along the way, Ben asked a question to the three. "Hey you three, who are you gonna bring along? If you got space can you bring Jade with his baby?" To Bens' question, Daitch answered without much care. "We got space, I was gonna have Rise ride with me and Max but I bet he'll feel left out." With a sigh Rise replied back. "... I don't wanna be a third wheel, my guy." Hearing this the 4 chuckled along the way.

Doing his best to ignore the ever bigger rifts, that now seemed to look like cracks in the sky. Glancing up from time to time, Raphael merely walked to his car seeming unbothered. Opening his car door, he looked up again, and there he saw the rays of light that escaped from the cracks that only he could see started to grow brighter and larger. As soon enough the whole crack glowed a golden light, blotting the blue sky and clouds. Just from its sheer size and glow, seeing Raphael mindlessly gaze at the sky, Rise called out to him. "Rapha? You good?" As Rise finished his words another thunderous crash resounded, much stronger than the ones before this. Momentarily deafening everyone, from students, teachers, police, and government workers. Everyone had their hands on their ears trying to lessen the noise, as they all tried to orient themselves and looked up at the sky. There everyone saw ripples form in the sky, ahead of it a shockwave that seemed to fold fabrics of space itself.

With the shockwave now coming closer, people who recovered fast from the crash. Scrambled to look for any cover, bracing themselves and expecting materials to start flying as the shockwave reached them. All those who found cover just shut their eyes waiting for the inevitable. However, a few like Raphael, Rise and the students already in the middle of the parking lot, unable to recover fast enough merely stared at the coming calamity. And as it arrived, many merely felt it pass through them while others had their clothes affected, their hair all messed up as if a very strong gust of wind washed over them.

After a few seconds of nothing happening, everyone who weren't top affected stood up and tried to process what happened. "Is everyone good?" Asked sir Paule through the megaphone. "Everyone, get up, ride on the… the buses and we'll head to the shelter to get med-" Before sir Paule could finish his words, a crash interrupted him. But instead of the ones in the sky, this time it was the campus walls that separated the school grounds from the trees outside that crashed down. With everyone looking at the dust that came flying, nearly everyone came to hiding again. Frightened at the sudden development. Not liking the current situation Raphael quickly got something out of his glove box. And he hid it behind him, looking intently at where the dust went flying. A pale blank head with a slit in the middle with a red gooey liquid dripping from it came out. As it slowly came forward from the dust, its full figure showed itself. A human shaped

head with a large slit in the middle cutting the face in half with spikes as hair that seemed to move on the wind. Attached to what looked like a caterpillar that failed to pupate, its body having the same large slit covered by spikes, revealed grotesque insides that constantly bled, on the end of it a ball of flesh with different patterns that beat in a rhythmic pattern. The only colors on the whole monster being where it is open and constantly dripped some liquid, all while the caterpillars legs seemed to have replaced with eldritch like legs that gave it. A spider like look, an abomination, created with a mix of spider legs and a failed caterpillar.

Seeing this monster, nearly everyone present felt the horror, and helplessness set in. The police officers, nearest to the monster, slowly got their wits together as they signaled to one another. Now with all their guns drawn they aimed at the head of the monster, turning off their safety. A volley of fire rained down on the monsters head, emptying their magazines. The officers quickly reloaded while taking cover behind their patrol cars. As they looked up to take aim again, expecting to have killed the monster, or at least damage it. All they saw was bullet holes slowly closing, seeing that the faces of the officers paled. Afraid at seeming to do no damage, as they were about to aim again, the monster rushed on the nearest patrol car. Subsequently piercing the two police officers on one of its legs, as the monster was about to turn to the other police with. It turned to the dying humans on its legs and saw the dripping blood. It stopped on its tracks and put the two dying police near the slit on its chest, where the spikes that blocked it slowly opened.

Taking this as a chance, one of the two remaining officers yelled. "Aim at its chest!" And just like that they opened fire at its chest, even at the risk of possibly killing his two comrades. As the fight unfolded, the students witnessing it all from the gun fire to the killing of two police officers in only a few seconds caused them all to panic and scream among themselves. And in turn result in a stampede to the buses and the nearest building. But as the yell of the officer gained their attention they looked again only to see the situation futile as the monster turned and let its back absorb the bullets, consequently letting the two police officers it pierced down and came rushing to the ones that shot at it. No longer surprised the two officers split up while firing at the monster, however it proved futile as the wavy hair like spikes on top of its head launched when it turned its head to the officers. Seeing the remaining police die, all the students with their hopes crushed. Panicked again but to a worse degree, with their survival instinct kicking in. A few made a run to the open gates, getting targeted by the monster in turn, either being pierced by its hook-like legs or by its hair-like spike. Seeing students die to the monster, the remaining guards forsake trying to keep order and just ran at the monster trying to kill it with their own guns.
