Reincarnation with an Unpleasant Surprise
After a few seconds of nothingness Taiko could feel himself being pulled out of the void, it felt sort of like he had his blankets ripped away from him as he slept. As soon as his awareness had returned to him he found himself in a pure white room. Standing in front of him he could see two figures who both were waiting for him to wake up.
The first figure was a very muscular man, he looked sort of like he was one the spartan soldiers from 300. He wielded a spear and shield and his armor was golden and his cape was crimson red. The helmet had a plume of crimson that matched his cape. He gave off a presence that he could kill you instantly if you wished for it. Next to the warrior stood was a woman. She had a beautiful figure every curve and every feature was simply perfect she wore a white dress that left nothing to the imagination. Her creamy white skin glistening giving off a majestic glow. Golden blonde hair deep blue eyes and
her face so perfect it gave Taiko a feeling of nostalgia. “Jennifer!” Taiko explained after a few seconds pulling Jennifer's image from his memory.
“I am not her brave soul but I am her mother however so I can see how you could come to that conclusion, I have many names but you may call me Aphrodite.” Aphrodite introduced herself to him.
“And I too go by many names young soul, however you may call my Ares” the warrior added.
Ares continued “As you can probably tell you have died, now normally the soul would be wiped and reincarnated again. However the circumstances of your death have left us two gods with a feeling of debt to you. You died because you got caught up into the middle of our politics therefore we would each like to give you a gift to take with you into your next life, as well as keeping your memories and skills”
'I am pretty sure I have heard this story in a light novel before' he deduced.
“Why do you keep calling me young soul Ares-sama my name is Taiko” he was wondering.
“Young soul unfortunately your identity as Taiko is now gone 'Taiko' was simply the vessel for your soul and now that the soul has separated from its vessel you are now simply a soul. You will keep with you his experiences but in your new life it is best that you think of yourself as someone else since you can never return to that world again and you can never become 'Taiko' again so having such attachment to your old identity will only hinder you going forward in your new life.”
“That world? You mean there is other worlds?” he questioned kind of saddened at the news.
“Yes the world you came from is but one of many in our domain it is impossible to return you to your original world with your memories because it goes against the will of the gods. However I feel like a soul like yours never truly belonged in such a peaceful world your fighting spirit is amazing in this new world you will plenty of opportunities to fight worthy battles” Ares spoke obviously excited talking about battle which is his favorite subject.
“So Ares-sama I was wondering, I can figure out why Aphrodite-sama might feel she owes me but what exactly did I do for you that makes you want to bestow me with a gift?” he asked.
“You did a lot for me, first you defeated someone whom had my blessing which makes you a worthy warrior and on top of that you stopped him from carrying out the will of an opposing god who was trying to sully my name” Ares explained.
'Ah Banshi-sama I see he had the blessing of a war god this is all making sense now' he finally understood his situation then he asked Ares.
“This new world is similar to my old one?”
“Young soul I cant reveal too much but this new world is quite different then your old world. First there is magic as well as other races then humans. I think on your world it is described as a fantasy world” Ares tried to explain without giving away too much.
'I totally have heard this story before in a light novel....' he now thought.
“So I am like the Hero in this new world?” he asked seriously.
“No young soul, Heroes are summoned from other worlds you are being reincarnated so this new world in actuality will be your home world. Plus your soul does not fill the role hero or demon king, you are too neutral. However if you play your cards right using your gifts and knowledge you have the potential to be equal to both the hero and demon king in strength. It is truly your own life to live as you see fit.” Ares explained.
“Or you could simply enjoy a peaceful life that you deserve!” Aphrodite interjected having spoken for the first time in several minutes.
“You seriously don't think such a warriors spirit will be able to stay away from battle Aphrodite?” Ares stated confidently.
“I am just letting him know that it is possibility for him if wants it just because a soul has great potential as a warrior doesn't mean they have to be a slave to the battlefield” Aphrodite explained.

“OK, OK I get it I can live my life how I want to. What do we do now?” He tried to reduce the tension between the two deities.
“Right back on topic now we are going to bestow our gifts to you and I would also like to give you my blessing proud warrior” Ares walked up to him and summoned a golden orb in his hand which he somehow was able to put into his chest.
“This is the gift of the Adept . With this will be able to grow and learn much quicker with yourself being the only limiter. You will find that your stat growth will be able to match the hero and demon king. This gift also makes it so you start out with slightly increased stats and mana.” Ares then touched his shoulder with his spear and said
“I also give you my blessing, may you find glory on the battlefield.” finally saluting Ares finally walked back to where Aphrodite was standing.
Walking up to him slightly blushing Aphrodite summoned a golden orb of her own into her hand
“ Brave soul I do not know what path you will choose to walk but the gift I give to you is surely going to help you down any path. I give you the gift of Gods information. With this you will be able to both hide your status if someone tries to use information magic on you as well see there information as well as information on anything. Basically you will be able to see information as if you were a god. This also means you will be able to read and speak any language. Use it well.”
'This going to be very useful' he thought.
Aphrodite was about to walk away her blushing was now really bad, she couldn't help it this man had saved her daughter and was about to start a new life she really just wanted to wish him the best. Without thinking she leaned forward and kissed him on the forehead “May you find happiness in your next life”
After this he could feel his spiritual body slowly drifting away.
When getting back to where Ares was standing Aphrodite could hear Ares slightly chuckling.
Speaking softly to Ares she said “Whats so funny I am blushing because that brave soul saved my daughter and I really hope he enjoys his next life”
Ares answered “ I am not laughing at that. I am laughing because you just gave him your blessing with your kiss”
Aphrodite thought for a second “Yes but my blessing only effects women so it should have no effect on
him.”
Ares quickly explained “A soul is gender-less and it is able to receive your blessing if its in this state. So the new vessel will be effected by your blessing. Usually changing gender does not effect the soul since it has no memories. However this soul has memories of being a man usually with this type of reincarnation we keep the gender the same as the previous one out of courtesy”
Aphrodite felt really bad “ I cant believe I just did that. I know ill make it up to her! Ill make sure she is born into a well off family so she can enjoy her new life!”
The soul finally disappeared from the realm of the gods and all of a sudden could feel itself in a complete dark environment that was both warm and comfortable. 'looks like I am in a womb' the soul thought.' as it slipped back into unconsciousness.
After several months of being in this state the newborn could feel a tug that woke them up. 'looks like it is time to be reborn' the newborn thought. The newborn could feel air on their head for the first time in a while and then opened their eyes for the first time in their new world. They could see many people surrounding them. The newborn was trying to get there bearings.
The apparent midwife picked up the newborn and said “For a newborn she is very quite” the other people around her all seemed to agree definitely this was concerning to them.
The language was nothing the newborn had ever heard before however they were able to understand it perfectly due to the gift. 'I guess the gift is already paying dividends. Hey wait did they say she??' the newborn was very concerned and tried to look down to find out for sure. After catching a quick glimpse at her new nether region the newborn started to cry uncontrollably ' this is the reward I get for sacrificing my previous life? What the hell god-samas. I didn't sign up for this!'.
“ahhh there's those are the tears of a newborn i am used to” the midwife stated as she handed the baby to her new mother.
“Hi little one I am your mother no reason to be sad you are safe now!” her mother then pulled her close and started to cuddle her in her breast to console her. 'I cant believe this is happening now. At least there is no way this could get worse right?' she thought to herself.
All of a sudden the door to the room opened and a man and several guards came into the room.
“Congratulations dear we have a new member of our family this is your new daughter Kara” after pausing for a few seconds she then added “ 3rd princess of Termain”
'It got worse!' she started crying again even worse then before.
