Chapter 4 Talking door

Chapter 4 Talking door

I lifted the rolled up carpet, and with the support of my shoulder, I successfully carried it to the door without tripping.

The dust sure made it hard to breathe.

I pushed the door open, "I am b-----"

A pillow welcomed me in open arms, catching me completely off-guard, it warmly smacked me in my face, the gentle impact allowed my whole body to roll back down the stairs with the carpet.

I laid on the dusty ground, staring at the ceiling blankly, still trying to process what happened.

"Sss---Csskt---Hssk---" Something crawled over to me and hissed.

"I'm fine, it's ok." I said, sitting up.

"Ow----" I silently groaned, "That Sean..."

I reached for my back and rubbed it in pain.

Rolling down a set of stairs isn't the best experience.

I bended my back backwards, only to recieve cracking and popping sounds.

"No pizza for him tonight." I muttered as I reached out for the unrolled carpet.

Some curious little fellas crawled up the stairs, towards the blinding light.

"No! Don't---" I yelled, immediately standing up.

The spiders were a lot quicker than me, they crawled out of the basement, leaving my sight.

Screaming and yelping screams ringed through my ears.

Ow, that hurted.

A pillow flew through the door and hit the wall, the spiders immediately crawled back into the darkness, squeaking in shock and fright.

More pillow-slamming sounds were heard, before something made out of glass was broken

I facepalmed, "Ay ay ay....."

Not wanting to take another breathe in the basement, I rolled the carpet in a scroll and brought it through the door with me.

A pillow flew towards me, knowing that it'll come, I easily dodged it , "What in the world are you doing?"

"You......" Sean stared at me with beady eyes, "Are possessed!"

I stared at the boy with my mouth open, "Excuse me what?"

"The Millie I know would never consider bringing a carpet like that!" He said, pointing at the roll of carpet in my hands.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

I glanced at the so-call carpet and realised, it wasn't even a carpet! It was HAIR, not to mention spider hair.

I don't even know how hair could be stuck together so firmly, but what I know, is that I'm throwing this away.

So I did.

This time I brought a torch wuth me underground, picked the carpet with my own hands (Clean ones) and brought it up with me.

"Ta-da! How do you like this one?" I said, throwing a classy looking carpet in front of Sean.

"It's....acceptable." He replied, poking the carpet with his toes.

"Wait....since when do you get to decide what I'm doing in this house?" I crossed my arms.

Sean gave a 'I don't know' gesture with his shoulders and walked away.

***************

"School is starting tomorrow, just a reminder." I said.

Sean bit his lips as he stared at his dark blue backpack.

"I already bought the books for you." I added, before opening the cupboard above the sink and revealing a stack of books.

"For semester 2." I smiled.

Sean curled up into a ball and started muttering to himself like a mental kid.

"Did you finish your holiday homework?" I asked, closing the cupboard.

"...."

"I'll take that silence as a no."

"I don't want to do it."

"You have to."

"You don't own me, you can't force me to do those disgusting things."

"You still have to."

"Can you let me copy yours?"

"That's a no no."

"Please?"

"No."

"Pretty please?"

"I reject."

"Pretty please with a cherry on top?"

"....."

I dropped the book on my hand and turned to face Sean, "Are you a man or not?"

"Erm....half? Maybe?" He said innocently.

"Then do your work properly." I smirked.

Sean waved his arms around, seems like he's trying to tell me something.

His mouth was moving, but no sound came out...basically, he sat on the sofa, waving his arms around, while talking nonsense...

Seems mental.

I just gave him a 'Don't be an idiot.' face, before throwing his bag to him (Which contains his holiday homework)

"What are you waiting for?" I said, "Go on, no one will stop you."

"You mean scream? Sure." Sean said, he cleared his throat and opened his mouth.

I threw the nearest pillow in his face, stopping him instantly.

"I meant homework." I said with a wicked smile, "You only have one day, wait no, half a day."

I turned to check the clock, "6 hours, it's already 1 a.m."

"Exactly! " He yelled.

"Don't be an idiot, be Sean."

"I am an idiot."

"Don't say that to yourself."

"Yeah 'mom'."

"Now be a good boy and do your homework."

"NO MOM!!!!" He yelled with the top of his lungs.

I grabbed his ear and pulled it.

"OW OW OW OW !!! Stop! " He groaned.

I pulled his ears even harder, following the pain, Sean slowly stood up.

"You better start now, don't waste more time!" I said strictly, pulling him across the hall.

I grabbed his shoulders and pushed him into the guest room.

"Have fun studying." I said before throwing in his backpack.

****************

Finally some peace and quiet.

I looked through my bookshelf and stared at the empty slot.

Oh right, Sean borrowed Unordinary...then I guess I'll re-read Harry Potter.

I grabbed the thick book, 'Goblet of Fire.' and threw it on the bed, following that, I jumped on the bed.

My wieght made the book bounce off, I caught it in mid-air and flipped it to the first page.

Just after I finish the first paragraph, someone knocked on my door.

"WHAT?!" I roared, slapping the book on my knee.

"I need help on math." The voice outside said.

"Don't talk to me." I rested my head on my pillow.

"I need help on question 3." It repeated.

"No, There's no way I'm going to continue talking to a talking door in midnight, forget about even helping it." I replied sarcastically.

"Please?"

"..."

"Hello?"

"Snore*"

"I know you're awake."

"No, I'm not."

"You are now."

"..."

"Come on....at least help me on one worksheet?"

"..."

"Friends are suppose to help friends! "

"URGHHHHH!!!!!!!" I screamed, covering my ears with my pillow.

3 seconds later, I threw my pillow against the wall and got out of bed.

I kicked open the door, "FINE! "

Sean stood there, beaming with a worksheet in his hand.

"Thanks!"

"You're treating me for lunch for the next few days." I said.

"Gladly."
