Abe walked up to the fiend, eager to try his new perk. He tried to activate it from outside the circle, but it didn't work, so with one hand ready to shoot, he used the other to grab onto the monster before activating his [Capture] ability.
Instead of a flash of light, he got a screen asking him to design his tattoo. He just went with the "Eye of Ra", as it was a favorite design of his, and placed it above his heart. And then there was a flash of light, and the fiend was gone. No, not gone, Abe could feel his presence magically, there but not there.
Abe stepped into the salt circle and summoned his new monster outside of it, where as expected it immediately tried to attack him, but couldn't get into the circle. Abe ordered it not to attack him, and held one hand out of the circle, the other ready to shoot, but to kill this time. Luckily, it wasn't necessary, as he wasn't attacked. The fiend glared angrily but did not move to kill Abe, so he slowly stepped out of the circle. When he was completely out and away, he felt sure the monster had to follow orders.
Abe ordered the monster to punch itself in the face, and to his immense satisfaction, it immediately did. Hard. Ready to believe the monster couldn't directly disobey, Abe told it to lure in a beast big enough for him to ride, but not dangerous enough to kill them both easily, and made sure to order it not to communicate in any way or allow anyone or anything else to know that it had been captured, or that Abe even existed, without being given express permission.
After a couple minutes the fiend ran back into Abe's house, being chased by a wolf. Abe immediately noticed two things. One, these monsters weren't friendly to each other. Two, that was a big wolf. About the size of a full grown horse. And it was angry.
Abe's new demon fiend suddenly turned and hit the wolf with a haymaker. It was a little impressive, and a little scary.
'Well damn.'
The wolf backed up but by no means did it surrender. It jumped at the fiend, who really needed a name by this point. Abe decided to call him Fred. The wolf jumped at Fred, and was easily caught and treated to a belly-to-belly suplex.
Fred held the wolf down, and seeing an opportunity, Abe grabbed a baseball bat and walked up and clubbed the wolf over the head. Dazed, the wolf was unable to get out from underneath Fred and he was able to get into a better position to keep it down. Fred held it there, firmly, and waited. Abe walked over to Fred, and clapped him on the back, causing Fred to growl. Abe of course did not appreciate this, and bonked Fred with the bat too. Cowed, Fred continued holding the wolf down.
Soon enough, the wolf recognized Abe as stronger, at least as far as it knew, and stopped struggling. Abe walked up and grabbed it by the throat, before activating [Capture].

'No new perk huh? Rough'
Abe checked on Fred to make sure he was fine, and seeing no issues told him to get ready. Calling out the new wolf, Abe was pleasantly surprised when, even without being ordered, it didn't immediately attack him!
"See, Fred, if you were more like this I wouldn't have had to kneecap you so many times."
Abe could've sworn he saw a frown as he put Fred back into the tattoo. When the wolf still didn't attack him, he ordered it not to just in case. He wouldn't leave a loophole like that, that would be stupid. Only an idiot with no foresight would happily welcome a monster that could and wanted to kill them into their party with no precautions, even if they appeared nice. That would just be silly.
Abe brought Fred back out, and told the two to go practice fighting outside, but not to seriously injure or kill the other. Abe wanted his new wolf, Wolfie, to get better at fighting stronger humanoids because he honestly never stood a chance against Fred. They were free to kill other monsters though, so long as they weren't unique ones that could capture Abe's attention.

While they did this, Abe packed up all of his important belongings, including camping gear and canned food, along with many kinds of necessary tools. He even had a water filtration system, or the means to filter water at least. Packing everything important and condensing it into bags that could fit in a car took Abe a couple hours, and by the time he was done Wolfie had come back in, completely exhausted.
Thankfully Fred was still fighting capable and they didn't leave Abe defenseless, but he would have to be careful of that in the future. He was about to put Wolfie into stasis so he could recover, but then he noticed a few things. Firstly, wolfie had leveled up to 8. Secondly, Fred was also level 8. And third, there was a notification bell in the corner of Abe's vision that he focused on.

New Perk: Assign Role
You can assign roles to your monsters, based on their achievements, stats, demeanor, and other qualifications. Roles give monsters special perks that allow them to better fulfill their roles. Roles act as classes for monsters, allowing them to grow exponentially stronger with the trainer.

Wait, if he was understanding correctly, humans gained classes so that they could evenly fight equal leveled monsters, or even higher leveled ones if they were good enough, but this was saying he could give his monsters classes to make them even stronger. That was busted. He would take full advantage of it. He immediately inspected Fred to see what he could get.

Options, options, options. Firstly, decoy was out. There is absolutely no reason to take a class purely for being a decoy. Second order of business was asking Fred if he had an opinion on the matter, as it was his class. Of course, Fred did try to kill Abe, so he was gonna get what Abe wanted regardless, but it was nice to get a second opinion.
"Any of these interest you Fred? Keep in mind you're stuck with me till you die or earn your freedom some other way, but its gonna take a while to work off a life debt."
Fred pointed at [Demon Brawler], and Abe selected it for more information.

Demon Brawler I:
A class sharing many similarities with [Pugilist], but with a demonic spin. This class is about pure strength, coating fists in hellfire and beating down your opponent with little more technique than before. Although the class is simple at the beginning, true masters will be able to redirect force from a [Giant Brute] as easily as they can catch a [Flash Fighter].
