Chapter 8: Misunderstanding / It gets worse
“In a few days.” Leaf wrote.
“All right, I’ll see you then.” Neko said, as Leaf walked him out the door.
He froze, right outside the door, staring at something near the stairs.
“Neko, are you okay? It’s just a few girls.” leaf wrote, waving the board in front of his face.
“It may be a girl, but that’s my younger sister and her friends.” Neko said, staring at her, agape.
She stared back with even wider eyes than him, and walked over.
“Hello. I’m Sun, It’s nice to meet you.” Sun said to Leaf.
She turned to her brother, grabbed him by the ear, and whispered, loudly.
“Why are you at a girls house? Have you been here all night?” She asked.
Neko looked away.
“You are SO lucky it wasn’t anyone else that saw you. Do you even have a single clue as to what rumors would spread about you from this? Do you know how many people would get excited over something like this? And for the love of god, if you finally got a girlfriend, at least introduce her to the family!” She said.
Leaf tapped Suns' shoulder and showed her what she wrote on the board.
“It was my fault for not waking him up last night after he fell asleep. He seemed really tired, and I didn't want to bother him. ” Leaf wrote.
“....You’re joking, right? Look at her. LOOK AT HER! How did you even find yourself a girlfriend this CUTE! She even blamed herself!” Sun hissed.

“Um. She’s not my girlfriend, sis.” Neko said, looking at the ground.
“So, you’re just fooling around with her? Despicable.” Sun said, looking disgusted.
She turned to Leaf.
“I’m so, so sorry about my brother. I’ll make him take responsibility, even if I have to bash it through his thick skull with a sledgehammer and stick a drill through his skull. Wait, no, drill it into his head, not drill his skull. Sorry.” She said.
She turned back to Neko.
“You stay over at a girls place for the night, and don’t even have the balls to own up to it? You’re just going to use her and throw her out? I won’t allow that. I need something that cute as a sister-in-law, all right?! Get it together.” Sun hissed, pinching his ear.
“So that’s what you really cared about. Of course it is. Sis, you let your true intentions out at the end there. owowowow. tss.” Neko said, as she pinched harder.
“I meant every word I said, don’t even think of changing the topic, or playing this down. What you did was WRONG. At least accept the fact that you made a mistake, and try to remedy it!” Sun said.
“Leaf, can you stop laughing and help me out a little, here? Please?” Neko pleaded.
Leaf turned her head and pretended to cry.
Neko realized his fate had just been sealed. No, it had been sealed ever since Sun started thinking of her as cute, he corrected.
10 more minutes of his sisters lecturing later, she sighed.
“Fine, just apologize, and say you’ll take responsibility.” Sun said, wagging her finger.
“...All right. Leaf, I’ll accept responsibility, and I apologize.” Neko said, staring her directly in the eyes.
“I didn’t mean for it to come this far. It’s a joke, all right? You don’t have to worry about me, Sun. This is a misunderstanding. We’re just friends.” Leaf scribbled hastily.
“You don’t need to cover for him anymore, all right? Leaf, I’ll introduce myself again. I’m Sun, this guy's younger sister. It’s nice to meet you. Would you mind exchanging numbers, so you can tell me if he does something stupid?” Sun asked, bringing out her phone.
“All right, but still, it really is just a misunderstanding. I’m not in love with him.” Leaf wrote, giving Sun her contact information.
“Seriously, brother, where did you find someone this dedicated? I’ll let mom and dad know, you don’t have to worry about that. You should really bring her over sometime. And soon. Anyways, I have to go. It was nice meeting you Leaf! I’ll see you next time!” Sun said, running off.
They stared at the dust cloud she left behind after she sped off.
