Chapter 4: The Flight / Arrival
They were at the airport, a month having already passed, and her accomodations prepared.
“I’ll see you during vacation, Leaf. Have a good flight and let me know when you land, ok?” Charm asked.
Leaf gestured, trying to convey her agreement.
Charm had picked up on a few of Leafs gestures after a while. Leaf had taught her some of the important ones, and Charm sort of understood some other ones as well.
“Okay! Bye Leaf!!” Charm yelled, waving, as Leaf boarded the plane.
“Your seat is right here.” A lady said, guiding Leaf.
Leaf gestured.
“Certainly. And they bring refreshments during the flight. I don’t recall what they do for first class, if they do anything different in the first place, on this airline. Are there any other questions?” The lady asked.
Leaf gestured again, thanking her.
“It was my pleasure. It’s not as though I’m leaving right now, though. You don’t need to always thank me.” The lady said, smiling.
Leaf gestured, sitting in her comfortable seat.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“Oh, I think it’s going to be over 15 hours. I recommend trying to sleep.” The lady said.
Leaf listened to her, easily falling asleep with the comfortable pillow Charm had bought her.
She got up a few times when they brought drinks or food, falling back asleep afterwards.
“We’ve arrived, Mrs. Leaf.” The lady said, waking Leaf up.
Leaf nodded, grabbing the bag that Charm had packed for her.
They went to a car, and they arrived at a small apartment complex.
Leaf made a couple gestures and pointed, first to the building, then to herself.
“Yes, things like rent are all being paid for. There's no need to worry about that.” The lady said.
Leaf asked a few questions.
“I believe they will be providing you a job for you. You’ll be able to pay for other necessities like food with the money you earn from that job. That’s where, for the most part, our involvement ends. You should eventually learn how to provide for yourself, and won’t need us anymore. While we want you to have a normal life, Lady Rin doesn’t think we should hold your hand. I thought it was weird to give you a job when you just started high school, but Rin said that it’s good to put down on your resume as previous work experience. I actually agree with that. Anyway, this is the apartment. Here's the key.” The lady said.
Leaf took the key from her hand, inspecting it.
“Try not to lose it. You remember the directions to get to everywhere you need to go, right?” The lady confirmed.
Leaf nodded.
“Good. Here, this wallet is yours now. It should have all of the stuff you need in it. The envelope has around 100000 Yen in it, as well as bank account information, and all of that. I suggest saying hi to your neighbors. They’re quite nice. I think that about does it for my part in this. I’ll be leaving you now, but it was nice to meet you, Leaf. Have a good day. I’ll see you later.” The lady said, leaving.
Leaf gestured her goodbyes.
She stood outside of her apartment, the sun setting, bathing the world in an orange glow, and not a soul in sight.
