The next morning, when Lupos awoke at his usual time of 3 o'clock in the morning, he sat still and realised he heard no human movement. Feeling more awake he quickly removed the snakes from the room and went outside to fulfill his daily training regime set by Darius.
Starting with a run at full speed around the schools campus, Lupos proceeded to the forest to scavenge for his breakfast before returning to his room at five. Just as he arrived back he begun to hear the earliest signs of human movement. After getting dressed in his new school uniform, Lupos proceeded to make his way to the main hall, the welcoming speech was about to begin.
About ten minutes later once the hall was at its full capacity an aging teacher with the badge of second elder walked into the hall and gestured for silence. "Greetings young ones and welcome to the first Academy of Magic."
The man paused until the applause died down. "Now as you know this entrance ceremony is not just to introduce you to our school, but also for you to summon your first elemental spirit. This will not only serve as a measure of your power, but also determine your future classes. When you hear your name called please step into the summoning circle drawn on stage and use your magic to seek out your power."
After the elder said his speech he stepped off to the side and begun to read names of the list, while the children in the audience looked on in excitement and anticipation. Lupos was also excited but for a different reason, the spirit he summoned would be key to his plan of killing Mervyn. He needed an equally powerful spirit to combat Mervyn's holy eagle.
As the time wore on, no one had summoned anything interesting and Lupos was using his time to look at his new classmates, when a cry of surprise arose from those near the summoning circle. A boy had just summoned a crimson phoenix, only five had ever been successfully summoned in all of history, the summoner was Lucio. Lupos looked at his ex-roommate with newfound interest as he heard his new name being called "Gale Foryst, come forward."
Lupos, upon hearing his fake name, approached the circle. Upon entry he felt powerful mana pouring out the circle "okay," he said to himself "lets get started." Slowly injecting both his dark and earth magic into the circle, being cautious so as to have no one recognise the dark magic, Lupos let his mind drift when he heard a voice. "Boy who has the audacity to try and summon me, what is your will and if you are worthy I will help. If not I will eat you."

Lupos spoke out calmly "vengeance against the man who killed my family." The voice chuckled "and against who exactly is this vengeance directed at?" The boy sighed in relief, it seemed the voice would at least hear him out, "Mervyn Oakshield, this countries strongest magician." The voice's chuckles turned into full on laughter. "Interesting, boy, you are very interesting, all right I will make a contract with you and become your elemental spirit my name is Fenrir, what is yours?"
"My name is Lupos but for the sake of my revenge I am currently using the false name of Gale Foryst, nice to meet you."
With this Lupos opened his eyes to see the assembled students staring at him in shock, or to be more specific the giant silver wolf behind him. "A wolf," announced the elder "exact species unknown. Please turn to the right to register your spirit." Smiling in delight, Lupos followed by Fenrir turned right to the table to register Fenrir, when they suddenly felt as if they were being watched.

In a balcony, in the topmost corner of the main hall stood a man in a purple robe watching the summoning ceremony, overall he felt very pleased with the results. So far two students had stood out for him and they were Lucio Illio and Gale Foryst both had exceptionally powerful summons and he looked forward to seeing them progress. But, he couldn't shake the feeling that there wasn't something quite right with the boy called Gale. "Oh well," he thought "no use dwelling I have a school to run." The man was the current head teacher of the first Academy of Magic and his name was Mervyn Oakshield.
