Chapter 6 + Explanation

Chapter 6 + Explanation

Alright, let's get some things settled,

1. yes, I have been gone a while.  I had to work as a counsellor for a summer camp and kept getting stuck with jobs that weren't mine.  That meant a lot of extra work.  After that, well, I'm a teenager, shiz happens.

2. Will I get my act together.  I have no real idea.  This entire thing is a form of relaxation for me.  I am a math brain, so writing is a little difficult for me.  I usually have to worry about creating a character that is actually human and not either a carbon copy of another or is simply over the top with the personality quirks.  Also my grammar sucks and I will have to deal with writing errors, stuff like half edited sentences and the like.

3. Also, I need to get an idea about the outline of this story.  At first it was just a little pet project of mine that I simply wanted to put on RRL for the laughs.  I didn't actually expect people to like it all that much.  So it would be unfair to everyone if I just half assed this entire story, so I am laying the mental groundwork for a big story in this.

Now if your all willing to put up with me, here's the chapter that probably took to long to come out.

White POV:

“White!  GET THE HELL UP!  SOMETHING'S WRONG!” Riuro

“Mmm!  What is it!  Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep!” White

“That’s why I’m waking you up!  I can’t see ANYTHING!!” Riuro

My eyes shoot open instantly at that.  It might not look like Riuro and I get along the most, in comparison to most of the male/female pairs that aren’t littermates; however I trust her one hell of a lot more than anyone else in the Pit, and therefore will do everything in my power to maintain said trust.

The problem is, after I open my eyes and look all over the place, there is no Riuro to be found.  I was also panicking too much to actually take stock of my surroundings, which comprised of a cross between a barn stall and a holding stall.

“White?!  I can see now but I can’t see you?!  Where are you?!!” Riuro

‘Wait a moment…’

“Alright waiting!  Just think of something fast because nothing's making sense!” Riuro

My entire body stiffens instantly as the gears in my head all fit into place.

‘She can’t see, except for when I open my eyes, I can’t see her, but can hear her like she were right next to me; and the final nail in the coffin is that she hear’s my thoughts now.  Riuro, you are inside of my head.’

“But I thought that males were supposed to go inside females?” Riuro

“Haah…. That’s mating, this is completely different.” White

“Oh thank the spirits that means I’m not pregnant yet!  Woooh!” Riuro

I raise an eyebrow.

“Okay, why is that your first instinct?” White

“Why is what?” Riuro

“Wondering if you were pregnant?  Who would you have mated with anyway?” White

She scoffs.

“Well you of course!  We are mates after all!” Riuro

I understood that something like this was going to happen eventually, but when did we become mates?  There had to, of course, be some mating after all; that or another type of ritual because my pack are monogamous, mostly.  Really, there is a long list of qualifiers as to how someone can qualify for being allowed to be polygamous.

Polygamy isn’t exactly frowned upon, but the rules regarding it are strict at best.  Anyways, why, when and most importantly WHAT?!

“Hah?” White

“OH SPIRITS, WILL YOU TWO SHUT IT!!” High-Pitched-Female Voice

““AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!”” Riuro + White

“CHEERIK!” High-Pitched-Female Voice

‘Wait, isn’t that--’

“RALPH?!!” White

“Oh spirits not that name again.” Cheerik/Ralph

“CAN SOMEO--” Riuro

Someone then burst into our cell by means of the bolted wooden door.  It looked like it was pine and very thick and study.  The man was a flamboyantly dressed in a robe dyed in a myriad of colors and expensive embroidery.  The robe was pulled back over his head to reveal a pale and slender faced man with blond hair, green eyes and pointed ears.  The only word that popped into my mind was Elf… I feel as though I’m forgetting something.  Anyways he had both of his arms stretched out as if he were proclaiming the good word to the masses.

Anyway my first impression of this guy was self important, probably douchey.

“Helllooo~ Peasants!  Bow down before-- wait, I thought there were two humanoid mutants not one huge direwolf with multicolored fur?  Did someone send me to the wrong room again~?  If so they’re dead meeeaaat~.” Douchey Elf

‘Hmm… I could go for some Blood Boar right about now.’

“White, priorities.” Riuro

‘I know, I know.  But seriously, blood boar sounds really good right now.’

My stomach growls in response to my hungry thoughts.  The Elf grew a little stiffer in response.  That’s when another male, presumably human, entered the room with a fed up expression.  He had a bow strapped to his back, a long sword strapped at his waist and a knife strapped to his shoulder.  He wore grey robes that covered his leather cuirass, boots, and leggings.  He had grey hair, but looked to be no older than thirty, his eyes were black and looked to be examining me for any signs of weakness.  He looked to be your picture perfect rugged survivalist.

Let’s call him a ranger for now.

He spoke in a monotone voice as though this had happened a thousand times previously.

“Don’t worry, Direwolves are always hungry, being part squirrel doesn’t help either.” Ranger

“Did he just call me fat?” Ralph

This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it

‘Ralph, buddy, please shush it for a few minutes this is potentially life threatening and I need focus.  Same goes for you Riuro, unless of course either of you see anything of paramount importance.’

“Got it.” Riuro

“Fine.” Ralph

‘This is going to be weird.’

“Anyways, if you had actually been listening to what I was trying to explain to you ever since you got here, we found a squirrel humanoid and when we brought the three of them together they stopped convulsing and instead just fused into… that thing.  It seems to share characteristics from all of them, from the bushy tail to the dual colored fur.” Ranger

‘Huh… he’s right.  I also think I grew a few feet… this is definitely weird…’

The Elf looks at him with a raised eyebrow as he spoke in a hushed tone.

“So why hasn’t it attacked us yet?  It’s hungry and just sitting there, no shackles and no binding sigil.  That’s not typical behaviour for any living being, including mutants.” Douchey Elf

“Hey~, Whitey~, can we eat the glowing one~?  It looks even tastier than a Lightning Elk.” Riuro

‘What glowing one?  There’s the annoying one and the sensible one, neither are ‘glowing.’’

“It probably thinks that we would taste horrible.  The Direwolves that were born in that Elemental Forest have been turning into mana beasts like the rest of it’s inhabitants, so they have a taste for mana rich animals.  The hunters that usually go in there have piss poor mana pools so the Direwolves avoid eating them in general.  This one probably assumes the same and is passing us off for when it encounters better prey, if it had better senses for detecting mana, it would have ripped you to shreds by now.  We didn’t restrain it because of this fact.” Ranger

“Oohhhh~.  I see~.  Wait, you do mean that you didn’t restrain it because of the no mana sense or the eating me?” Elf

He gets a mischievous glint in his eyes that seem to go unnoticed by the Elf.

“Let's go Lyrian, before it gets too hungry.” Ranger

He starts getting more scared slowly.

“No really Sirus, which one did you mean?  Sirus?  Sirus~?” Lyrian

‘Wait, this might be my- our only chance at getting out of this.  Think White think!  Wait, I can understand them so they might understand me!  My tongue does feel pretty weird…’

“Herro?” White

Oh god that sounded terrible…  I sound like a racist Chinese lady that works at a laundromat… I don’t even remember what those things are…

I said this as they were about to close the door behind themselves, but just before it clicked, they slowly opened it and stared at me with wide eyes.  Then they exchanged glances and started smiling stupidly.

“ “Jackpot” ” Lyrian + Sirus

“This doesn’t sound good…” Ralph

‘You can say that again.’

Graru POV:

‘Hmmph, throw me out of the pit will you?  Just give me a week and I’ll have all those bitches lining up to be my mates.  Hell, I’ll even kill the Alpha, change those laws so I’m the only one allowed to breed.  Then I’ll have every right to punish that runt Ruaro like I know she wants me to.  Then I’ll take that runt Riuro in front of White.  Ohh~ White, and I can’t forget about you.  Think you can just show up and break all the pit’s rules?  I’ll show him, I’ll take your worthless rabbit of a mother and kill your bitch of a father!  I just need to find some food, too bad I didn’t try eating from White’s stash, that snake-born is probably off doing Spirits know what with his bitch Riuro.  I just had to try sneaking back into the pack and eat from the wounded pile.  I mean, if they got wounded, they don’t deserve a pile?!  They don’t even deserve a bite!  They should just toughen up, like me!’

*Sniff**Sniff*

‘Oh!  Coyotes!  They’re sure to have some spare food that I doubt they would be too sorry about losing!  I could even become their Alpha!  That could help me on my path to complete domination of Gar’s pack.  Hehehe.’

I began to run towards the little fleabag rodents that I was going to take over.  Coyote’s weren’t that impressive, they just liked using their numbers and those fucking “strategies” they were always talking about.  Who even cares if they could take on a Lightning Elk if they all worked together, the Alpha could do it on his own if he wanted.  Besides, who needs strategies if you can just mow down your prey like a wolf, fucking weaklings need help to do anything useful.

“Ahhh~.  You’ll do perfectly.” Voice

Something pinches the back of my neck out of nowhere and raises me up by the scruff of my neck.  What I saw scared me so bad that even shivering seemed like a bad idea.  I was so terrified I didn’t even think about just why I could understand it, it wasn’ barking or swishing it’s tail, or anything!

It was terrifying to a degree I can’t even fathom.  It was scaly, like snake but at the same time similar to those scary pink things.  I was really afraid of those pink things.  This one had everything that was scary about them, as well as claws and fangs!

It’s eyes were slit like a snakes, and almost glowing with green light.  The thing had it’s maw curved upwards, I think it was happy.  It chuckled with a hiss.

“Skis skis skis, finally, that bastard spirit of corruptive magic thinks he can just go ahead and claim the title of God of all magic!  Demonic magic is more powerful, and you’re going to prove it!” Scary

‘What’s a God-SPIRITS HELP ME THAT HURTS!!’

Scary put his hand on my face and my entire body felt like it started breaking apart and reforming.  This lasted for several minutes before finally ending.  When it was finally over, Scary didn’t look too scary, he looked great and powerful, like an Alpha among Alpha’s.

“Hmm~.  I wonder what i’ll call you.  AH!  Worg!  You are WORG!!  Now go, and spread my blessing to your pack, already you are far superior to any among them.  But know this, the white one is blessed by my brother, if you find him weakened, end him, and never trust him.  He is one that will always seek your death.  If you are Alpha, he is your Omega.  Your opposite.  Now get going, I need to get back to wooing the spirit of alchemy.  She will be MINE!” Alpha Scary
