Lawrence nodded and retrieved a bottle from the bedside. It contained the medicine Claudius took every day. Taking the bottle, Jared opened it and took a sniff.

The alchemists clearly looked uneasy when they saw that and even snuck a glance at Enrique.

Realization seemed to dawn on Jared after he smelled what was inside the bottle. Without wasting any time, he sent a wave of spiritual energy into Claudius’ body, then quickly pressed on a few points on the latter's body with his fingers. After that, he slowly stood up and said, “Your father does have a stubborn ailment, but it's not so serious to the point that it'd be fatal that quickly. The reason why he has become so weak is because someone drugged him. I've temporarily sealed off his vitals, so he'll be fine these next few days. I'll also write a prescription, and you can prepare the medicine accordingly.

Shocked, Lawrence demanded, “What? Someone drugged him? Who did it?”
