She’d been staring blankly at the Almiraj for a few minutes now, completely unsure of what she should do now.
She looked down at her hand. On one of his fingers there was a beautiful Phoenix ring. She instinctively closed her eyes and concentrated. The ring was blood bonded to this body so it barely took any effort at all to look into the ring and discover what was in it.
She looked at the body of the dead breast for a moment longer and then walked over. Averting her eyes she raised her hand up and called the carcass into the space ring. Then turned and limped away.
She knew that the almiraj had been trying to drag her to its lair. She had no idea how close she was to its lair now. It was best to get away while her could. She wasn’t in any condition mentally or physically for another battle. What she needed right now was a place to rest and gather herself. She didn’t understand the situation she was in, in fact she wasn’t even completely sure she was awake.
She looked around as walked and using those other memories she walked toward the entrance of a cave. She moved as quickly as she could while circulating her Qi around her broken foot as well as her neck and shoulder. Now that she was getting more and proficient with this process she found that she could lessen the pain. She couldn’t take it away but she could make it more tolerable while she healed.
“What a strange world…” She mused as she limped along. Humans have super powers and there are animals that could of come straight from hell. How on earth had she managed to end up here? Did her taxi drive into a worm hole or something? But if that’s the case, where did the driver go? Perhaps he was somewhere where she’d originally been? Maybe after she got some rest she should try to find her way back there and look for some clues.
After walking for some time she found a river. She bent down and washed her face. The cool water felt great. She had no intention of drinking the Waterford course, God knows what was in it. She just wanted to wash some of the dirt and blood off of her. Her skin felt tight and gross. What she really wanted to take a night hot shower. But Beggars can’t be choosers after all.
After washing her hands, face, and neck carefully she sighed with relief. Her body was still gross but at least she was making some progress. She ran her hands through her hair and looked at her reflection then froze. The face looking back at her was that of a strangers. An absolutely gorgeous stranger. The woman looking back at her had jade like skin. She had an adorable button nose. The bruises on her forehead and chin didn’t take away from her beauty but rather made her look like delicate and pitiful beauty that was impossible to ignore and would most certainly provoked a strong urge to protect in the opposite sex. Her hair was extremely long. It was in a messy ancient hair style with a few ornaments still in it. Her big eyes were clear to truly remarkable. It was as though if you looked long enough you’d be able to see the stars reflected in them.
Bai Mei Li felt like her brain was short circuiting. What kind of situation was this? How was she controlling someone else’s body. How was a situation like this even logical? Possible? She suddenly once again found herself filled with anxiety. She was confused and filled to the brim with fear.
She was in someone else body and held their memories as well.
Wait…
She trembled.
If she was in someone else’s body, where was her body? What was this?
With the panic starting to overwhelm her she forced herself to take several deep and long breaths to calm herself down. She had to force herself to stay focused. If she wanted to panic she had to find a safe place to panic.
Okay first things first. Once again she forced down the questions raging in her heart and got to work on the problems at hand. The cave she was headed to wasn’t too far from this river. Maybe a mile. She needed to take a moment and clean herself and properly tend to her wounds so that she could make it to the cave before the rain.

She took in another deep breath and them stripped out of the nearly destroyed clothes she been wearing she also took out the ornaments from her hair and let it loose. She then stepped into the river. Although it was cold with her Qi now circulating properly she barely felt it at all. She quickly washed off all the blood and dirt. Although she didn’t have any soap just rinsing off all the blood was enough to make her feel a thousand times better.
Once she was reasonably clean she stepped out. Circulating her Qi around her body she dried her Dolby and her unreasonably long hair then quickly balled it and stuck three of the ornaments she’d left on the ground into the bun to keep it. She summoned some clothes from the ring and put them on as quickly as possible. Grumbling all the about why and one would want to wear this many layers of clothing.
“Seriously… fifteen minutes just to put on a outfit. Ridiculous.” She numbered under her breath. If it weren’t for the fact that she had the previous owners memories it would of certainly of been mission impossible.
She looked down at herself.
She had to admit that the clothes were very beautifully and she knew from the memories that they also had a defensive quality to them as well… she definitely needed that right now.
Once she had clothes and shoes on she let out a sigh of relief. She felt rejuvenated and although her leg and arm still hurt pretty badly at least she was clean and that made her feel refreshed and a bit more motivated.
She took a medicinal pill and immediately ate it. It helped to relieve some of her pain.
She packed away the old clothes and the rest of the ornaments and then continued to limp toward the the cave. By the looks of the sky she quested that she probably only had a few more hours until the rain fell and she’d like to get to the cave and perhaps cook some food before she rested for the night.
As she walked she looked around. The forest around was truly different from anywhere she’d ever been on earth. She couldn’t recognize any of the plants or insects using her own memories. Some looked similar but if you look closer you could see the difference. About the only thing that appeared to be the was insects like flies and mosquitoes. She could hear what sounded like crickets and she thought her saw some kind of lizard. But she was wasn’t a botanist, zoologists, or entomologist so honestly she couldn’t be sure.
The more she walked to more depressed she became. Because the more she walked and looked around the more convinced she became that she wasn’t dreaming at all. So how she not become depressed?
She’d also been going through the memories she’d inherited and that was even more depressing. The woman was a complete b*tch. Nearly all her thoughts were either about cultivating, selfish, or vicious. She had zero tolerance for those that were weaker then herself. She had the white lotus act down to an art.
Bai Mei Li sighed. She was now as very clear on how the original owner of this body died. She’d been engaged to a man named Shen Chao Jain. He was known as the number one genius of the younger generation in the lower bound. Their sects had wanted a marriage alliance so the elders had decided on the engagement. The original Bai Mei Li had no complaint. After all he was the number one male genius and she was the number one female genius. If she didn’t marry him who else would be more suitable?
In the beginning Shen Chao Juan hadn’t declined. Although he’d been indifferent to her he hadn’t rejected her either. She’d figured that was just apart of his nature and after they married he would eventually warm up to her over time. But then Luo Yu entered the equation. She was some no body that just appeared out of thin air. She caught Shen Chao Juan attention and as though it were love at first sight he fell head over heels for her. His eyes could only see her. He immediately broke the engagement, over ruling the objections of the elders of both sects. The original Bai Mei Li of course couldn’t tolerate that all and thus she started all kinds of trouble for Luo Yu.
Of course it never worked out and slowly but surely she ruined herself in her obsession. She ended up being killed by the man she thought she loved after her latest trap she’d set to kill Luo Yu failed.
Bai Mei Li couldn’t help but sigh again. The original owner was truly pitiful. She was certainly a victim of the times and culture.
All her life she’d been raised to believe she was best and therefore deserved the best. How could possibly accept that she was out done but a weak nobody? It was impossible for her to let go, so her ending was the only ending possible.
She stopped walking as she saw the cave up ahead. By the time she made it here the pain had all but stopped but she was still extremely exhausted.
She grinned in relief. Now all she had to do was set a fire and cook something set up her bedding and then sleep. Blissful sleep. With any luck she would wake at home in her own bed. She’d be able to chalk this up as a nightmare that her brain created because she in a deep need for a vacation. She would then go on sabbatical.
She entered the cave then spread out her senses the way the original owner had done a million times before. When she didn’t sense any other life forms in the cave she was extremely happy. She then set about taking out some provisions as well as bedding and a stone with heating runes inscribed on it. Although she wasn’t cold she liked it warm when she slept.
When everything was all set up she did another hand sign then closed the cave up with ice leaving only enough space for fresh air at the very top.
That finished she sat down but the heating stone and started eating the dried fruits and meats that had been packed. After she ate she properly bandaged the wounds that hadn’t healed already so she would dirty the bedding and then she got into the bedding and closed her eyes. She was more then ready for some sleep.

One hour later
The rumbling of thunder could be hear and shortly after that shuffling sounds could be heard as a very small figure came from behind a rock hidden in the shadows. It looked at the provisions left out and quickly ate and drank then it looked at the woman sleep. She looked really warm and really comfortable. After hesitating for a moment the little figure went to the bed and got into the bedding with the stranger. After snuggling into her warm embrace it promptly with to sleep.
