After failing to turn off my alarm I decided to finally get out of bed. Noticing that it was getting late I hurried to the bathroom, only to kick the frame of the door with my toe.

“MOTHERFFFFF!!!!”

After a few more curses, I started to get ready to work. After finishing getting ready, I suddenly remembered that I was supposed to wake up earlier so that I had time to get something to eat before I had to go to work.

“OH c’mon…. (Inhale, exhale) I don’t have time for this “

After deciding that I didn’t have time and that I’ll survive without breakfast I made my way to my car.

When I got there, I was half expecting to have a flat tire or something, fortunately everything looked in good condition, which made me sigh in relief.

5 minutes later

“ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!”

I yelled after seeing the heavy traffic.

After calming down I picked up my phone to call my boss to say that I was not going to make it on time.

I had been working hard for a promotion the last couple of months, wanting to get out of working paycheck to paycheck.

I wasn’t very good at studying, and I didn’t have anything that I wanted to study so I didn’t go to college, thinking that if I stayed in a good company for long enough, I’ll get promoted. But I didn’t know what counted as good company and getting into a good one took me a couple of years and while the company that I currently work at pays good and has good benefits, I had barely moved up in the last five years that I have been working. If he didn’t make it in time for this supposedly ‘important’ meeting, he was going to get a negative point and get pushed back on the list for promotion.

Feeling really depressed I can’t help but say.
