I sat in the carriage with other strangers each of them on their way to the capital. Almost everyone here was barely an adult by law meaning each of us was on our way to get our classes.
Except that one middle aged guy, he probably has actually business to take care of.
I didn't like how crowded the capital is, neither does anyone else, yet everyone has to go there if they want a class. That's why it's so crowded in there.
Usually people would be nervous as to what class they will get but I'm willing to bet mine will be bard.
What class you get depends on three things
1) Your bodys condition, strong bulks will get strength related stuff and agile fucks will get agility related stuff.
2) Your skillset and life experiences, if your experienced at hunting you'll get a tracking/scouting related class and if your experienced at farming... what do farmers even get? Anyways, that's also why parents usually teach their kids as much as possible about whatever they want to be. For instance my mother taught me all about music, but she was limited since she's more of a singer and is well aware that I can't hit half of those notes (why is my voice like that?).
4) Your bloodline, I heard of a man who as a giants decented could innately use earth magic with a warrior class. I know for certain my father's a full blood human as it has been four generations since the last time another race married into our family, which is long enough to purify the children's blood. However I have no idea how my mother's family tree looks like.
Where's three? You might ask, well, I didn't include three because it's fucking stupid... okay fine.
3) luck
That's it, nothing more to it.
The carriage arrived at the east gate of the capital and I'm honestly surprised that we weren't ambushed. I looked over to the middle aged man, is that because of him?
He looked towards me and that's when I recognised him.
'Uncle Pan? Why- actually this makes a lot of sense.'
For the whole carriage ride we didn't come across a single inconvenience and he's definitely the reason why. I don't know his full name as I usually refer to him as uncle, even though we're not related.
My father probably asked him to watch over me since the streets to the capital are littered with bandits and outlaws. My father was very concerned that I went with a regular carriage and asked me if I couldn't wait for a caravan that goes to the capital. Caravans are much safer since adventures are hired to escort them. However I told him that then I would get used to let go of the first opportunity and he was all for striking first.
My father used to be an adventurer just like my mother and uncle Pan. He was the brains of the group, after all he was a battle commander which allowed him to give powerful buffs and Summon a familiar. His familiar is a phantom crystal fly, one of the final forms of the crystal silk caterpillar (not to be confused with the crystal caterpillar) it heavily focuses on single target damage and stealth.
My mother mainly focused on healing and buffing but can throw some very distracting illusions. I have seen them myself, a false flower garden in the winter, a roaring flame through the storm and a beast of the depths on land. Her most powerfull spell was one she refused to show me but one night I snuck after her I saw her use it. The illusion of love, any one that fails to resist simply gives up. They lay on the ground and accept whatever the world ridiculous them with.

Uncle Pan is not quite an archmage. He lacks fine control over his mana and decided he doesn't need it. Any problems he faces were obliterated by high tier elemental magic. And if both my mother and father buff him up combined with potions and artifacts...
As I jumped out of the rear of the carriage I could feel a heavy gaze on me.
The final member if the team, the tank who single handily held the entire front line, Siegfried. I have only seen Siegfried in a portrait made in their golden years. A waist as wide as his shoulders, a height far above that of what a human should be, arms thicker than my mother, a dull gaze that doesn't pierce through people but crushes them. Apparently he fought a mountain once.
As uncle Pan stepped out of the carriage the crushing gaze disappeared. Looking up I could see a far too tall figure on the city wall. Unlike the rest of the party he didn't settle down, instead he became the captain of the fifth division.
Truly, people tend to become monstrous...

I'm a bit nervous.
I looked around and saw that everyone else was also nervous which calmed me a bit.
'At least I'm not in this alone.'
Then a system panel only visible to me appeared.

THE FUCK?
Okay, calm down, deep breaths, now think.
Me from the future? Yeah helping myself in the past is something that I would totally do. And I would also send them around this time since it's normal to be confused whilst awakened.
I have to talk to uncle Pan after this.
the group around me moved forward all of the sudden. I didn't notice that it was our turn since I was deep in thought.
I moved along as if I was knowing what's going on, you know, like a liar.
After some walking in the big ass church with a shit ton of gold in it we came to an empty white marble room with an eery look to it. In the center of the room was a statue, I couldn't make out it's features. Magic I guess.
"Pray to the statue and then follow the strongest feeling inside your chest."
The priest I failed to notice explained how to obtain our classes.
'Uhhh is it too late to tell them that I don't know how to pray?'
The doors shut behind us.
Fuck.
