She wasn't the thief

"So, where is the thief's hideout ".

"At the backside, there is a secret pathway that leads to the thief's hideout, right behind the wall you are standing in front of".

"Is this the wall that you were talking about". She asked me, pointing her finger towards the wall behind her.

To which I replied with a yes.

"Did you enter inside the hideout".

To her question, I replied to her with a nod.

After seeing me nod, she contemplated about something for a while and said -

"What was was mechanism that was used by you to enter this hideout".

"Why are you asking these question"?I said to her, trying to figure out what she intends to do.

"I think, I know the identity of the thief that you were talking about".

"Really, then can you tell me the identity of the thief".

"Since you saved my life, I will give this information to you for free but first you have to tell me the mechanism to enter the hideout. So, I can confirm if both of us are talking about the same hideout".

After hearing her say this, I just told her the mechanism to enter the hideout to know what she intends to do, as the things she was doing something that was totally out of my expection. My thought process was something like she might get angry, if she knew that I entered her hideout or something else but even in my wildest dreams I didn't considered the slightest bit of possibility of her telling me that she might know the identity of the thief. After hearing her answer I was unable to think about anything regarding this.

After telling her the method, I used to enter her hideout, she told me something that I found even more absurd than before.

She said that -

"This hideout belongs to my uncle."

"Your uncle?. I asked, feeling dumbstruck by her answer.

"Yes, my uncle."

'Hey, system'.

[Yes]

'Am I hearing it right'.

[I think so]

'What do you mean by, I think so. Answer me clearly, don't tell me that you don't know anything about this when you claimed to be the strongest.

[I never claimed to be the strongest even though I am the strongest and what does it have to do with being the strongest]

'By strongest I mean omnipotent and if you are really an omnipotent being then why did you summoned me to this world'.

[Because I was bored]

'Yeah, yeah, because you were f**king bored, you summoned someone from another world and to do what, only god knows the answer of this question. Oh! Sorry, how can they know as they are already dead. Let me phrase it correctly this time, because you were fucking bored, you summoned someone from another world and to do what, nobody knows answer of my question'.

[You don't believe me]

'How can I when everything(most) that I know about this world is not what it was supposed to be'.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

[Haaah. Ok, fine. So, what should I do to make you believe]

'Just tell me the answer to my previous question, is she saying the truth.'

[Yeah, she's saying the truth]

'Can you tell me about this in detail.'

[For example]

'Who was the one that died at the hands of protagonist'?

[Her uncle]

'Is she the one that I wrote about, the one that entered the hideout at this time'.

[Yes, she's the one]

Only when the answer from the system settled down in my mind was I able to figure things out, that the one who entered the hideout was Eva and the one who died at the hands of the protagonist was her uncle. From all this I made an hypothesis that everything I had written in my novel was true as I didn't write an detailed description of the one who entered the hideout and the one who dies at protagonist's hands. So, I presumed them to be the same person but this wasn't the reason that I was worried about.

The reason was-

But after listening to someone voice I was snapped out of my thought -

"Hey, hello, can you hear me".

"Yes, I can. So, please lower your voice otherwise my eardrums are gonna burst." I said to her while keeping my hands on my ears.

"What was the thing that were you thinking about in such deep thoughts that you didn't even heard me, when I was just right beside you."

"It was nothing, just an old habit. You know the saying, 'Old habits die hard'." I just told her the first thing that came in my mind to make her stop bombarding me with her sudden questioning.

"So, what are you gonna do now that you know that I was the someone who entered your uncle's hideout and maybe took some of the items, etc." I asked her to know her thought process as I didn't knew anything about her other than the things that I saw in her status window.

"Well I won't do anything as I doesn't even know much about anyone other than my father."

"Why, are you not close with anyone other than your father, what about your mother". I asked her to gain knowledge about her as much as I possibly can.

"Yes, I am not close with anyone other than my father".

After listening to her story, I asked her

"What about your mother".

"My mother died right after giving birth to me". She answered.

After saying this, her face become red once again but this time it was because she was forcing herself to stop her tears that kept pouring out of her eyes as if a dam has been broken.

Did I just talk to her about some taboo topic, I thought to my self.

[Do you know]

'Now, what'.

[That you are the worst]

'I know this better than you'.

[Atleast you knew about this]

'And I think that you should change your habit of stopping mid sentence'

[Well, what can I do. You know an saying old saying 'old habits die hard']

Ignoring the system like I always do, I shifted my attention to Eva.
