After having fun talk with my system about how I will die if her dad were to ever find out about my actions, l shifted my attention to her.

Seeing that, her consciousness was gradually returning, I moved back a little to avoid any chances of getting assassinated by her in a fit of rage.

Getting up from the grass field, she moved her head left and right but after finding me standing few steps away from her, she stopped her actions and started scanning me up and down for who knows why.

Seeing the thief shaking her head and saying that -

"You had passed, even though barely". I squinted my eyes trying to understand the hidden meaning behind her words but after nothing came out.

I just asked the system to clarify the meaning behind her sentence.

To which it replied -

I got overly excited after hearing the system's reply and began to think of possibilities like how the protagonist will react if he can't see my status(with the help of protagonist's system). Seeing that the system has more to say, I urged it to continue.

Seeing my gesture, the system started from where it left and said

Knowing fully well, the hidden meaning behind the sentence spoken by the system. I didn't try to argue with the system because it was telling the truth, even though it still hurts to listen to someone talking shit about your looks.

Seeing that I was still standing in a daze, she started walking in my direction and only stopped when she was atleast two steps away from me.

Seeing her standing there, doing nothing but staring at me. A lot of dangerous thoughts started flowing in my mind like- if she remembered the kiss from before or if she just find me ugly and wants to kill me, to make the world free from people like us. No matter how absurd they may sound, these are all the options which isn't completely impossible.

Clearing my mind of these dark thoughts, I asked her -

"Do you need something, my lady".

"No", she replied to me.

"Then anything else you want to do", I asked her.

"Nothing", she replied to me.

After getting two short reply continuously, which seems to be indicating that she doesn't want to talk, I just kept my mouth shut.

Finally after a few seconds which felt like eternity, she opened her mouth

"Are you the one who saved my life".

To which I replied-

"Yes, my lady".

Only after this answer was I able to relax from all these things.

Seeing that I wasn't saying anything, she asked me about how I knew about which poison was used on her.

To her question, I answered-

"I had a potion which can cure most of the poison in the world", a convenient lie that I had thought of while talking with my system before coming here to confront her.

Hearing my answer, her ears perked up and she immediately asked-

"Do you have any more of them or it's recipe".

To her question I simply relied with my creative answer that even I had admired myself-

"No, my lady, it was the last one and to obtain it my parents had gone through a huge ordeal. It was found inside an old dungeon linked to another dungeon in which they got trapped and to escape they had to complete the dungeon with only two of them. And to complete the dungeon they had to fight with thousands of monsters of Rank-A for a few nights with empty stomach and after killing all of them, they had to fight the boss monster without even taking a break. It was only after their relentless struggles did they succeed in getting this potion. There were five of them at first but I used the other one and gave the other three to the people who really needed them before coming here.

After hearing my answer, I don't think that she will continue to ask me questions regarding the potion, not like there was any potion that can cure all poisons in the world to begin with.

"Thank you for your help", she said to me.

"Anybody in my position would have also done the same thing ", I said to her.

Of course, I know that almost no one will help someone for free in this, where even life is a luxury. I just said it to score some brownie points with her.

"So, what's your name", she asked to me

"Joey Eldarch", I replied and asked her-

"Since, I already introduced you myself shouldn't you also introduce yourself", I said to her.

To which she answered -

"Eva La-, you can just call me Eva".

Knowing fully well why she didn't tell me her full name, I didn't try to probe on her 'secrets', of which some of them I already knew.

After finding out that she was already leaving, I asked her to atleast show me her face before she left.

Only after listening to my question did she recalled that she still had her mask on.

Seeing that I was still patiently waiting for her to remove the mask, she immediately knew that she had no say in this matter.

And she reluctantly began to remove the mask.
