In a candlelit room on a ship in the middle of the ocean two men were discussing
"Listen, I just don't think this is a good idea, that's all. We should simply leave him at the next city and have a talk with the authorities, I'm sure they'll take good care of him."
"Oh come on, he's just at the right age to be of help; let me give him an education and in exchange, we'll gain a useful worker for free."
The two men were both middle-aged and pretty muscular, thanks to the years spent at sea. The first one looked just slightly younger than the other and had relatively short red hair; he had a conflicted expression, the kind of expression you would see on the face of someone you're disagreeing with but you know will eventually give up if you just push hard enough. The second one had dark hair that reached just slightly below his neck, and he had a calm and collected expression, the kind you would see on someone who knows they're in the right.
"If that was the only reason then I would be inclined to agree with you, but are you sure this isn't just you trying to make up for..." the first man sighed in the middle of his words "For the loss of your son?" he then focused his attention on the expression of the second man, expecting to see some kind of change.
Change that did not show itself, for the second man's expression remained calm and collected, his spirit seemingly undisturbed.
"It was five years ago, I'm not gonna make any dumb decisions based on something so far in the past. Can you please trust me Nadelor?"
"Okay, if you say so I guess I'll let it slide." said Nadelor, the red-haired man.
I should've probably mentioned that a third party was witnessing this scene, because there was someone else in the room with the two men: a teen with white short hair who looked about 15 or 16 years old was just sitting and watching them discuss, with a perplexed look on his face. He was perplexed because he couldn't understand a word they were saying, and he couldn't understand a word they were saying because rabbits don't really have a language or any idea of what a language is. This kid was the object of the two men's discussion and the same rabbit that, earlier that day, had found himself mysteriously turned into a human. After spending a few minutes in a confused daze, he started trying to move around his new body, and after a while, his confusing movements attracted the attention of a ship that was passing by; at first, he was scared by all those weird creatures that looked so similar to his new body, but after a while, he realized that they didn't mean any harm to him and he just let himself be brought on the ship. He was currently trying to understand this new body of his and studying other people's movements in the hopes to learn how to control it; once he realized that there was nothing that he could do about the new form of his body, he did the only logical thing and started adapting to it, for adaptation is the most fundamental key for the survival of any species.

Nadelor looked at the kid for a few seconds and left, while the other man sat down in front of him. The man had already realized that the kid could not talk and didn't comprehend any form of language he knew of, so teaching him was gonna be pretty hard... but certainly not impossible, he was a child of teachers after all, and he had picked up a good number of tricks of the trade; he started wondering about what to buy in the next city to aid him in the task when he realized that something was missing.
"I guess we don't know each other's names..." said the man, looking the kid in the eyes in the hopes of engaging in some primordial form of communication.
"My name is Palor by the way, I know you don't understand me but try to remember it. I guess you don't have a name uh? Then for now I'll give you one." Palor said, and started thinking. Suddenly his gaze stopped on the kid's hair, of a clear white, that seemed way more lively than those of any old man.
"How about Alba? It means dawn." he waited for a moment, as if waiting for the kid to answer or show any expression that wasn't his standard perplexed and unimpressed one. "Well, I guess I'm not gonna be able to tell if you like it or not... Man, this is frustrating! Still, I guess that now I'll have to put twice as much effort into teaching you so that one day I'll get to hear your opinion of it. Until then though I guess your name will be Alba". Having said that Palor walked out of the room, leaving the newly named Alba even more confused about what just happened. That confusion was quickly blown away by another more important thought: where should he go to find some food?
In the meantime, on the little island where Alba had found himself until earlier that day, a man was standing deep in thought. He was quite bothered by the absence of something that should have definitely been there: the other half of the lemon that was currently laying on the sand, which had apparently been bitten and eaten. With a single look at the beach it was easy to tell that a group of humans had been there, and it was probably one of them who somehow managed to break through the seal and eat half of that lemon. "Well," he thought "The instructions said that I would've found it here, everything else is not my problem". With this last thought he grabbed the remaining half and disappeared from the island, leaving it in a peaceful state, just like it was before the rabbit and the lemon arrived.
