Chapter III: Road to Freedom

Chapter III: Road to Freedom

The following day, right after the plan was made, Arata went to visit Kaito and to fill him up on the plan and what his role is in it.

Kaito: “So, if this works…we can contact outside authority to save everyone else in this school…”

Arata: “Y-Yea, right now, we need to keep watch of the guards. Will you be able to attend school on Monday?

Kaito: “If I don’t, I’m going to get beaten up for not attending.”

*Kaito and Arata start giggling, following to laughter*

Kaito: “Oh man, can’t wait to watch the anime I’ve missed.”

Arata: “I know, once we’re out, you and me are pulling a marathon on all the episodes we’ve missed.”

Kaito: “That’s a promise.”

While they were chatting on about their life once they escape, Sakura & Rin arrived to check on him as well.

Kaito: “Huh? Oh, you must be Arata’s friends. Say…which one of you are Arata’s girlfriend?.

*Kaito grins*

*Sakura and Rin freeze up*

*Arata smacks Kaito on the head*

Arata: “We don’t have time for jokes idiot, they’re here to bring you notes as well.”

Kaito: “Yea, yea…homework sucks ass…”

For the rest of the school day the group spent doing their homework and Kaito copying notes. Fast forward a few days, Monday finally came around and the teacher was about to announce the start of the exams.

Teacher Chris: “Listen up now you scum! The exams are about to begin and I’ll give you the dates of what subjects you are going to take!”

Tension built up in the class, no one knew what subjects were going to be for the exams.

Teacher Chris: “The following subjects are going to be one the exams. First off it’s going to be History”

Arata’s and Kaito’s mind: “YES!!!”

Teacher Chris: “The second and third will be Programing and Math.”

Kaito: “I suck at programing…”

Arata: “I suck at both…”

Teacher Chris: “The exams will begin 2 weeks from now!”

After class the group gathered up at the lunch hall and discussed their plan.

Yoshida: “The exams will begin in 2 weeks from now, that means we have around a week to make our escape happen.

Everyone: “Yea!”

Arata: “Remember to keep the plan low profile so no one finds out. That would be the last thing we want right now.”

Suzuki: “Soo? Has anyone noticed a certain pattern of the guards?”

Yoshida: “The right side has only about 2-3 guards per shift, I can’t say the exact amount of guards during the night, but I’m willing to bet it’s 1 or 2.”

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

Suzuki: “The left wing that I checked, keeps a strong 4 guards during the day, it’s a pain in the ass. At night it’s probably 2-3 guards there. What about you Sakura?”

Sakura: “Middle had only 1 guard, that was just at the entrance. At night there is no one there.”

The group then planned out at what entrance they are going to enter through, and how they are going to get to the locker rooms without being noticed.

Yoshida: “We are hitting a brick wall here. To get to the locker rooms, we have to cross the right wings path and go to the center. The problem with that, is that the entrance is soo close to the left wing of the school, that we will need to watch for the guards on that side aswell.”

Suzuki: “True, no matter what route we take, we will still have to be cautious of every route we take.”

Arata: “This is a pain in the ass. Ok, I’ve got an idea.”

Kaito: “Ohh? That’s unusual.”

Arata: “S-Shut up! Anyways, what if we don’t gamble the guard number the night of the escape.”

Sakura: “And how do you propose we do that?”

*Arata grins*

Arata: “Well it’s pretty simple, we take roles each night from now to watch the guards movements and number from the outside. The plus in that is that we won’t be noticed by them unless we are too close.”

Yoshida: “What about the guards patrolling outside?”

Kaito: “We’ll just have to avoid them and hide in trees and bushes around the School building.”

Arata: “It’s like you read my mind.”

The group set up a suitable schedule to when someone will check on the guards pattroling the School building, for the next few days. A few days has passed and their speculation had been spot on, the group has set that they will escape on Friday, 4 days before the exam.

Yoshida and Arata are laying in their beds the day before the escape.

Yoshida: “Tomorrow we escape!”

Arata: “Yea, let’s not fuck this up.”

Yoshida: “The way we execute tomorrows plan will decide whenever we succeed or fail. I do have a problem with something.”

*Arata sits on the side of his bed*

Arata: “Huh? What’s the problem?”

Yoshida: “Do you really believe the 6 of us can all make it through the building without getting spotted?”

Arata: “…we don’t know until we try…”

Yoshida: “Well whatever, let’s leave tomorrows issues to tomorrow, let’s just go to sleep for now.”

As they fell asleep, the next day flew by until it was time to escape. The group gathered up at the sports shack and went on from there to the back.

Suzuki: “Did you secure that the window would be open?”

Sakura: “Yea, I’m pretty confident in it being open.”

Once the group arrived to the window, it looked like it was closed.

*Arata pushes the winow inwards*

*creek*

Arata: “D-Damn…”

Kaito: “Be careful you idiot.”

The group silently entered the classroom and peeked through the door to check if there was a guard on the hallway.

Suzuki: “It’s clear. Quickly before they spot us.”

They ran all the way to the lockers as quickly as possible. Once they arrived to it they try to open the door.

Suzuki: “Huh? HUH! It’s locked.”

Yoshida: “Move aside, I knew this would happen. Give me a minute.”

During the time Yoshida was lockpicking they start to hear footsteps approaching them.

Sakura: “Hurry up”

Yoshida: “Almost there…GOT IT!”

Everyone quickly enters the locker room and shuts the door so nobody notices them.

Yoshida: “Suzuki, come here and help me lift this manhole.”

*Both of them lift the manhole, it’s finally lifted, revealing a ladder*

Sakura: “Everyone quickly.”

Once they made their way down the ladder, they start walking towards the exit. After they turned a corner, the only thing that was shown in their face were metal bars blocking their way out.

Kaito: “THE ESCAPE IS RIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE! RIN CAN YOU-“

Sakura: “No.”

Arata: “We were so close…”

Yoshida: There’s no other way out, GOD DAMN IT!”

Rin: “W-We should probably go back, before the guards notice.”

On their way back out, once they made it to the window and try to shut it, it made a creek sound again and a guard heard that and entered the room.

Guard: “HEY! YOU THERE!”

They quickly start running in all direction and back into their dorms. The guard could make out that there were 6 people, but couldn’t identify who they were exactly.

Sakura: “RIN DON’T FALL BEHIND!”

Slowly but surely everyone safely arrived into their dorms, the guys went all into one room and started having a serious talk about the chances of another escape.

Yoshida: “Arata, could you make us some coffee? This could take a while.”

Arata: “Y-Yea, sure.”

The mood in the room wasn’t at it’s best.

Suzuki: “Coming up with another plan of escape isn’t an overnight thing, I think we should take time and think this out rationally.”

Kaito: “But we all want to get out of here before the exams!”

Suzuki: “You’ll just have to survive these exams, even if you fail we’ll try to escape right after the exams.”

Yoshida: “Do you really think we’ll be able to escape that quickly?”

It took some time for the tension in the room to lower, but once it did, the conversation was a bit more positive.

Yoshida: “How about this? Once we’re all out, I’m treating you guys to a game or two of bowling!”

Suzuki: “That’d be awesome!”

*Kaito looks at Arata*

Kaito: “Why do you look lost in thought?”

Arata: “Huh? Oh…it’s nothing, just…what if we could get access to internet within the school?”

Yoshida: “That’s it! Internet!!! It’s decided, the next few days, we’ll be trying to get access to internet in any sort of way!”

Suzuki: “That’s not something you decide without asking everyone here but sure.”

At the end of the day, the group had turned a bad day into a cheery one as they had fun in their dorm. The next few days they would spend, trying to get access to the internet.
