Konrad could hardly sleep that night but eventually, the exhaustion got to him. Luckily he slept peacefully that night not plagued by his peculiar dreams, when he woke he felt a strange apathy 'If I don't think about it,it never happened focus on what's in front of you.' he thought. His young mind could not truly understand the emotions he felt so his logical conclusion was to not think about it at all and only focus on what is in front of him.
Looking around his room he saw a rickety old desk and chair the bed was stuffed with straw so it was hardly comfortable to sleep on but it was still better than sleeping outside he thought. for a While, he just sat on his bed clutching an old bone pendant he had picked up years back while exploring the forest with his dad. It was old with many cracks running through it yet it was strangely durable but all the memory did was bring the pain back so he went down for some breakfast instead.
He hated himself for not being there he thought that if only he had been there he could have done something with his magic but he knew that was a lie the moment he thought it. When he reached the first floor he looked around for Bellaris he saw him sitting in a corner discussing something with a younger man also bearing the insignia of the empire on his chest he stated walking in their direction.

It took three weeks to get to the capital, they didn't run into much trouble on the way besides one episode with some foolish bandits Severus quickly dispatched of them. He never actually saw the Capital City though because he was taken to a fortress in the forest behind the capital. The three weeks had given him time to process his pain although he still missed his family he vowed to get his revenge no matter the cost.
