Journey begins

(In a room at the village inn)

Bellaris has always been a man of duty so when the Emperor sent him to the frontier villages to look for young gifted he did not complain, but after 6 months of searching he had only found 5 qualifying candidates. He started to grow restless so he decided it was time to return to the capital,as of late the magic potential of the empire has been dwindling outside of the magical bloodlines so this campaign was meant to bring in more specimens for the gene pool.

As he finishes this thaught he looks to Severus his squire and says "Tomorrow after we leave burn this village to the ground leave no one alive he is too talented to leave loose ends his only allegiance should be to the empire."

"But sir if he found out wouldn't that damage his relationship with the empire?" He asks. "Not if we frame it on the Kingdom of Yulesia which in turn will strengthen his hatred to our enemies." He says before laughing maniacally.

Kondrad once again woke up from that strange dream pondering what it meant before managing to get out of bed he has a long day ahead of him so he started to get ready for his long journey.

After a hearty breakfast he says his final goodbyes before heading to the town sqaure, as he arrives the Envoy is already there and waiting after seeing him approach he motions him closer.

"Ah Konrad was it you finally made it come we have a long day of traveling ahead of us so we best get moving." Bellaris says "um sir I don't even know your name yet" Konrad replies meakly "ah where are my manners my name is Colonel Bellaris from now on when I give an order you reply with yes sir am I understood private?" He says while raising a brow "Yes sir but private?" He asks questioningly with his head turned to the side.

"Well you are now the property of the Imperial family as such you are given the rank of private but we will go into more detail later for now we focus on the journey ahead the brown mare is yours so you better take care of her" he says while motioning to a brown horse next to him as he himself climbs onto a white steed "We dont have all day private" he says before moving on with his horse.

Afraid of being left behind he quickly climbs onto the horse and follows after Bellaris as they head of further and further from the village the houses start to fade replaced by the ever present green of the forrest reality starts catching up to Konrad.

'This is really it my life will never be the same' he thinks as a pit starts to form thinking of all the memories of his village and family he'll never eat Sam the bakers fresh bread never feel the heat of his fathers forge never run through the forrest with Olie or be apart of his outrageous schemes.

But at the same time a sense of excitement starts to grow for his future seeing himself as a powerfull wizard saving the empire brings a smile to his face as determination sets in to be the best he can.

Severus is annoyed being left the dirty work as he sighs and goes to the mayor of the village to gather all the families for an announcement. After about 30 minutes of waiting everyone is gathered yet again at the town sqaure eager to hear what the announcement is about.

When the time finally comes Severus releases his last sigh before he starts to chant "Vrita varhum septus ifrite" as he is chanting the temperature starts to rise until a massive fireball is towering above the crowd. Realizing something is wrong the villagers trues to run away but it is too late as the fireball hits the crowd burning everyone present to nothing but charred remains the housss start to catch fire.

The deed finally done Severus starts carving the symbols of the god of light that the Yulesians leave after their many crusades reading 'only through fire and death will the blasphemers be redeemed' when he finishes he gets on his horse and sets of ti catch up to the envoy as he leaves the burning village behind.
