After waking up, still drowsy from insufficient sleep, I went downstairs to eat breakfast.
Walking like a drunk person, I unintentionally bumped into various things in the house. My parents were surprised from the noises I made.
"What are you doing, early in the morning?"
It turns out that it was only my mother downstairs, preparing breakfast.
"This is quite a rare sight seeing you this early, you know. Usually your father and little sister would be here first."
I sat down on one of the chairs at the table and faced downwards with my arms acting as cushion.
"You should be sleeping still. How about Yurii? Is he still sleeping?"
"Ah.. He said that he'll be here after thirty more minutes. We stayed up till 11, so he might be sleepy still."
"Why? What did you two do?"
"He kept bugging me in school yesterday to continue a story I've told him. I said that I'll tell the rest if he comes here, but I didn't expect that he was serious."
Mother just looked at me with a somewhat disinterested, but concerned face.
Afterwards, the omelet was served.
Partnered with rice, I gladly ate the breakfast mother cooked. Steamy, hot food to warm up my stomach.
"Speaking of yesterday, I got a call from your father's friend and wanted us to come over and eat dinner with them today, while discussing about your fixed marriage. You can bring along your friends too, they said."
An old friend of dad's, huh? A fixed marriage.... and a childhood friend reunion. I wonder how I'll tell this to Elisa.
Still delighting myself from mother's cooking, I spoke my thoughts.
"Is he the same old man when I was four?"
"Yes. You still remember that time? You have some good memory."
"Nah. Just a lucky guess."
"So...? Will you be joining us later?"
"Yeah. Sure why not... I'm curious what she looks like...... I'll just Yurii and her to come along if they want."
"—What did you call me for?"
Making his appearance all of a sudden, speak of the devil, Yurii butted in our parent-child talk.
He was leaning on the stair ledge.
It kinda annoyed me.
"Well, dad's old friend invited us to dinner tonight. He also said that I can bring you two along."
"Good morning, Keitaru's mom."
"Likewise, Yurii-kun. You can go eat breakfast, it's already finished. I'll just wake up the other two sleepy heads."
"Thank you very much for the kindness."
Mom went upstairs to wake up my dad and little sister.
On the other hand, this opportunist friend of mine began to indulge himself from the food offered to him.
"Thank you for the food!"
"So......?"
Reminding Yurii the thing I just told him, he answered.
"Sure. I don't have anything to do anyways. Besides, I feel like I'm going to have a feast tonight, if I come along. But are you sure it's fine?"
"Well, knowing that old man, he's rich. You'll probably be overwhelmed when you see him."
Instead of pressured expression, rather I saw an excited one that is looking forward to it.
"I expect nothing less. I'm an otaku, so these kind of things are my cup of tea~"
"Yeah. Yeah.... I'll discuss this to her later. I hope she doesn't shout at me—"

Ding. Dong.
"Coming!"
The doorbell rang all of a sudden.
The mailman shouldn't be at this time, so I wondered who it was.
Right after opening the door, a loud mouth nulled my hearings as the person shouts her thoughts.
"Keitaru! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU HAVE A FIANCÉ!?"
Speak of the devil, again, the other friend that I planned to invite, Fumi Arita. Beautiful. Strong. Mature-looking. Red eyes. Long, violet hair and styled ponytail. A girl that makes men like her and women envy her.
"Too loud... Argh... People are still sleeping. Why would you do such early in the morning?"
Ignoring my question, she continued speaking.
"No, no, no, no. More importantly, when?!!— Can I come in, by the way?"
"Be my guest. Just remove your shoes before coming in."
"Thanks."
After entering the house, she got shocked from seeing Yurii eating on the table. Yurii responded with a 'yo'.
I gave Fumi a cup of barley tea to drink and sat at the living room. I also offered myself one.
"Ooo, this is delicious— No, that's not what I came for...."
"Eh... So what is it then?"
With a look of disinterest, Fumi didn't push the question any further. It wasn't out of fear in knowing, but trust in me rather.
Well, probably knowing me, I would just answer something silly or unbelievable. In this case, it was the latter.
This night's dinner came to mind, so I took this chance to invite Fumi for later.
— But before that...
"By the way.......You changed your panties toda—"
"H-H-How did you kn-know?! —You pervert! —You deviant!! —You peeping tom!!!"
"I........ It's just a lucky guess.... —Ow!"
Throwing the couch pillows at me, the flustered Fumi spoke in cute manner. Yurii gasped from the rare sight.
"S-Stop.. I was just joking around......... I just want to ask if you're free later this evening?"
She finally stopped throwing, but her flustered expression turned to a disgusted one, as if she was looking at a mere water flea that is worse than a speck of dust.
"Di......Disgusting."
Like I said.
"Do I take that as a no?"
"What's the occasion by the way?"
Ignoring her question this time, I changed the subject to tease her a bit. Though not in a sexual way.
"Yurii....Don't forget to wear formal attire. If you don't have one, I' have an extra attire for you."
"Rude. I have my own."
"Hahahah, sorry."
"Hey! Don't leave me hanging!"
Fumi is the type of person who "lacks in etiquette". I fear that if I invite her, she'll just make a fuss there.
"Fine already. Just don't shout."
"T-Then I need some help picking a dress for later......"
"A dress? For someone like you? A gorilla?"
Just like kids, they were doing some shenanigans in the house very early. Fumi trying to catch the slippery Yurii.
Fumi is the no.1 and ace player of our school's softball club for girls. A strength that rivals three men, her beautiful and fragile looks shouldn't be underestimated.
And just like that, my plan to invite these two have been accomplished, wherein both parties accepted.
Thanks to my lucky facade, instead of I go to them, they go to me.
Sigh....
That is how my morning went. Lively and weird.
