CHAPTER 1: BLUE THUNDER

A boy with silver hair, shivering as he heard thunder outside. A bookshelf near him and below his feet an odd shadow. The only light being from the thunder outside. The boy’s shadow, varied sometimes small other times big.  The shadow eventually took a definite shape not to match the refraction of light, but like a circle, a void consuming the whole room. A monster sinking him in as if he was its prey. He just kept slowly going into its mouth, until a girl with frightening blue eyes, dripping wet clothes, and ginger hair ran to the boy through the open door of his room. She didn’t notice the shadow as she hugged the boy. “It’ll be okay Lucy.” He stopped shaking looking at the girl’s eyes seemed to comfort him. “Azul your eyes are beautiful.” “They remind me of my mom.” The monster slowly went back to its source. Azul slowly let out tears with a smile while hugging Lucy. In a very melancholy voice, Lucy asked: “Why are you crying.” Azul just responded with a more powerful hug.

Azul exclaimed, “C’mon I brought donuts for us to eat.” Lucifer replied with a murmur “Where is the bag Azul?” She murmured “I must’ve dropped them while I ran here.” “Doesn't matter I’ll just cook us something.”  Lucy stared at her with a gentle smile and said: “Your cooking is better than any restaurant or some Doughnuts.” She laughed and answered, “Thanks a lot, little bro, so what you like to eat? ” He said, “Anything is fine if it’s your cooking Azul.” She answered, “I guess I’ll make us some burgers.” She put on an apron and started to look through the refrigerator “Ah here they are.” She started making the patty by throwing dough from one hand to another. Lucifer observed her and wondered if something was wrong. “Azul you’re doing this slower than usual do your hands hurt?” She replied with a simple answer “No little bro, I’m fine,  just been a while since I made burgers.” Lucifer shyly replied, “Oh sorry if I’m being impatient.” Azul giggled and gave a simple answer “Na it’s fine just says you really love your sister’s cooking.”

She smiled and handed her brother the burger which she just finished. “Here’s you’re awesome sis’s cooking.” He replied with a short and simple answer that was straight to the point. “Thanks, I’m sure I’ll love this since you made it.” His sister responded by complimenting her own work.“ Well enough talking let’s enjoy this awesome food.” She brought up the topic of school to start a conversation.“Hey, bro don’t you get bored just staying at home all the time.” Her brother answered a bit half-heartedly.  “No not really Antwon gives me toys, video games, and teaches me things that are interesting, most of the time.” He asked a question to his sister to keep the conversation going “Is school that fun?” Azul had a face with mixed expressions as if she was remembering a lot of things. She answered with a pretty positive answer to her brother’s question. “You’ll meet new people, that can be your friends..., You learn to control magic and how to use it, Plus you can just play around and have fun.” “Has dad taught you anything about magic little bro.” Her brother said in a slightly irritated voice “Antwon seems to completely avoid the question when I bring it up.” Azul’s voice was turned more gentle as she asked: “ Listen don’t you, want to go to school?” Lucifer said in a sad voice “I’m sure Azul there’s too many people there and I’m not sure how I would deal with the people who use electric magic.”

“I AM HERE FOR THE DONUTS THAT MAKE ME SMARTER THAN I ALREADY AM.” Some guy with a lab coat burst through the door shouting and had similar hair to Azul. Lucifer responded with a simple greeting “Hey Antwon sorry there’s no donuts, but she made burgers.” Azul with an embarrassed face asked, “Why are you here so early dad?” Antwon  explained to them “Why research ended early thanks to an unexpected predicament.” Azul yelled at her father “YOU DIDN'T BLOW UP SOMETHING AGAIN!” Her father retorted with “AH failure is one of the many ways to success, but I don’t consider anything a failure if it gets you farther.” Lucifer put himself in the middle of two talking “Oh yeah that’s, right you told me Edison didn’t fail 200 times he just found 200 ways not to make a light bulb.” Antwon smiled and simply said, “My boy I have taught you well.”

Azul sighed and picked herself up from the chair over and said to the two “Can’t argue with that it’s one of the points I agree with him. Hard Work does pay off.” She put her arm over her dad when she talked.. The dad laughed in a mad scientist way, “BWAHAHAHAHAHA, I see I taught you both well.” Lucifer just smiled and Azul said, “Yeah you’re a great dad one thing you’re actually good at.” Antwon’s face looked confused before asking Azul “ Azul why are your clothes soaked.”  Azul announced she’d be taking a bath and be right back. Her father whispered something to her before she left “Anything happen to Lucy?” Azul mumbled “Yeah we’ll talk about it later.

“My boy have you…” realized it's Azul's

birthday in a week.”  Lucifer replied with an “Aww I forgot about it, how could I forget about her birthday? “Young Lucifer why not help each other out and find a present for her together.” He just grinned and nodded “Where should we go Antwon.” “She likes soccer why not buy her a ball from that team she likes.”

“MARVELOUS we can tell we’re going to a game shop since she's not that big into video games.” “Azul me and the boy are going to the game shop want anything. “Na thanks, I'm good not that into video games.”
