Chapter 6 - Choosing a Class! Part-1

{In the Tutorial Village}

Lukas was annoyed as he looked at the prices of the items, he had been ignoring the mana stat because he felt the advantages of being faster and stronger were more advantageous at the beginning when no one had a clue as to what to do with magic.

But looking at the prices of the 1-time use scrolls that anybody in their fucking mind would buy as a trump card just in case, his whole plan kind of got ruined.

He opened his status and silently looked through the description of the status once again. His understanding of the status was a little rudimentary but he had a basic idea of what he needed to do.

'Both Physique and Mana are the attributes that contribute to both damage and defense. I have used all the points that I have got from level-ups till now to upgrade my Physique and vision Reflexes. If I had known the shops would sell this kind of items I would have used stat points on Mana as well...' Lukas thought as he frowned at the shop's interface once again.

In addition to the stats, there was a new entry that counted the total money he had. He looked up and read the name of the shop.

[Etuo Pible Ege's Mercantile Hub]

The name looked like it belonged to a foreign language and was forcibly translated into English. He looked back at the items in the shop and quickly bought 9 power bars. The discount provided by the title took effect and He had to pay just 6 copper.

[Thank you for Shopping the Money has been deducted and the items have been added to your inventory]

Lukas opened his inventory and in an additional slot, there were 9 power bars stacked on top of each other. He pulled one out and opened the wrapper, the whole bar looked like a wafer and as he started biting into it, the power bar tasted like the chicken from his favorite shop that was around the corner 2 blocks away from his house.

'Damn... does it taste like my favorite food, what if I want it to taste like ice cream...' Lukas thought and then bit into it, sadly the taste remained the same.

'So it does not respond to what I want to eat but what my favorite food tastes like. That will become boring very quickly...' Lukas finished the power bar and he instantly felt full, the biological need to take a nap emerged but he ignored it and walked away from the shop.

There were a lot of shops in the vicinity so Lukas walked toward the second shop that was selling weapons.

[Etuo Pible Ege's Mercantile Hub]

The name of the shop was the same just the items it was selling that were different, this time instead of going straight for the panel Lukas looked up and browsed the attributes of the item first.

...

[1-handed Sword Lv-1 {Common}: A common one-handed sword, the most basic item that one needs to survive in the wild.

+1 PHY]

...

[1-handed Sword Lv-5 {Common}: A common one-handed sword, the most basic item that one needs to survive in the wild.

+2 PHY]

...

Lukas looked at the weapons and ignored them together, he had his dagger so he didn't need any weapons at the moment. Plus his dagger looked super low-key no one would even suspect that it was a high-level item.

He skipped through the options and arrived at the armor, this was the stuff he needed so browsed through the sets of armor. Lukas looked through the list of armor, and there were 6 slots of armor that he could wear.

--1 Helmet slot

--1 Shoulder slot

--1 Chest slot

--1 Wrist slot

--1 Leggings slot

--1 Boot slot

The shop only sells the most basic pieces of all the armor, each of them was 10 copper coins so he had to spend around 40 copper coins to fully equip himself with the most basic gear. Even among the armor pieces they were divided into various pieces and gave different bonuses.

The Light armor sets were normally worn by movement-based classes. It had a bonus damage resistance against magic attacks but was more vulnerable to attacks with bladed and bludgeoning weapons.

The Medium armor set was worn by close combat classes. It had a bonus resistance against bladed weapons but was weak to magic and bludgeoning weapons.

The Heavy armor set was also worn by the close combat class. It had bonus resistance against balded and bludgeoning weapons but was weak to magic attacks. But it had an additional movement penalty.

...

Lukas looked through everything before he decided to invest in a light armor set, although it wasn't good with his daggers and his close combat style. But he needed extra protection against magic scrolls if he wanted to feel safe.

[Lost the Title: {Richest across the 4 suns}]

...

Halfway through the purchases Lukas lost the bonus of the richest title and had to pay a little bit extra bronze coins. After finishing the purchases Lukas calculated the amount of money the one before him should have.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

'He's getting around 2 Silver and 50 bronze coins per day, so it shouldn't be that hard to maintain my advantage. I won't need most of the stuff these shops are selling anyway.' Lukas thought he didn't mind letting someone else hold the title but if whoever got the title lost it again then there would be 3 people who would know about it and the competition would increase.

'I still need to make sure that I hold this title so it doesn't spread.' Lukas thought as he walked out of the armor shop. He sensed that there were a couple more people entering through the gate.

There were 3 of them as they stumbled through the door in a daze, one of them was obviously the strong one as he looked like an athlete while the other two had a timid persona as they adjusted their glasses as they stared into the air.

'Let's leave them for now, the ones who were able to reach here this fast must be competent enough that they could earn some TP before I get to them...' Lukas thought as he walked towards the next shop, he was still aware as one of three quickly rushed into a nearby shop.

'What are they in a hurry about,' Lukas stared back at the shop they ran into and then he walked forward toward the next shop and started to equip his new gear.

...

[Leather Hat Lv 5 {Common}: A basic leather hat that is enchanted to resist magical attacks.

+1 DEF

+1 VIS

-1% Damage taken from Magical attacks.]

As soon as he clicked to equip the leather hat, it vanished from his inventory and he felt some weight on top of his head. Lukas wanted a mirror to see just how ugly it looked but a new option appeared in the inventory along with another notification.

...

[Equipped a piece of armor]

[Unlocked stat: DEF]

...

While that got him a little excited the more important portion was the option that appeared on the item he had equipped in his inventory.

...

[Hide Item -> {-}]

Lukas smiled as he quickly clicked on the button, nothing happened... he could still see the weight on top of his head but maybe it wouldn't be visible to others.

'I should try this on a chest piece or something.' Lukas thought as he spammed equip on all the armor in his inventory.

Lukas looked at the set boost he got and sighed in relief, once he got to level 8 his Health increased to 800. So with the amount of magical resistance, he has even in the worst-case scenario he should take somewhere around 840 damage.

'I just need to use some stat points to buff up my Mana stat and then I should be fine.' Lukas sighed in relief and then he looked down at his new outfit. The leather chest piece was going over his suit and the pants were also overlapping, and for some weird reason he was wearing 2 shoes but he couldn't feel them much except for their weight.

He clicked on the 'Hide' option for his armor and one by one everything vanished from his sight, he looked around and quite a lot of people were looking at him with an astonished expression.

While he was in distress a lot of people had begun trekking into the village, it looked a lot fuller now that a lot of people were lurking around looking at the items in the shop, but Lukas noticed that the most busy shop was still the first one. Happy expressions filled the faces of everyone that were taking a bite of the power bar.

He walked back and tried to mingle in the crowd but it didn't work out, as soon as he walked the crowd moved giving him a wide road to walk through.

'What... are they disgusted by my fashion sense or something.' Lukas thought but his doubts were quickly dispelled by a dude who whispered to him, "Dude did you kill someone, why is your name red?"

'My name's red? Is this because I killed all those people or because I killed the goblins.' Lukas thought, he still naturally slipped into his easy-going persona as he smiled bashfully and spoke, "I don't know man I met someone halfway here and when we were about to fight the bear the dude tried to kill me, and use me as a distraction. I had to shoot him to survive..."

Lukas put on a helpless face and disgusted face and the guy in front of him had an expression of sympathy on his face.

'Did I run into an ex-con or something,' Lukas thought and the guy responded, "We had to deal with something similar early on, me and the guys got teleported here together and we met another guy along the way. At first, we got along well but then he tried to use us as a distraction and ran away... I dunno what happened to him though we didn't have a gun or anything... Is that how you are so high level, I forgot to introduce myself didn't I, my name is Léonce Faron, and these are Ernest, Gabriele, and Philippe."

Léonce kept on chatting and didn't stop until he noticed that some people were staring at their group, especially with Lukas there with them whose name was like a shining beacon in a sea of darkness.

Lukas stared at Léonce and asked, "Wait what language are you speaking?"

"French why?" Léonce asked.

"I'm speaking English..." Lukas replied. The bizarre situation of why his lip movements didn't sync with the words he was speaking made sense now.

'Interesting, is this part of the game as well...'
