It was a bright and cool Sunday. Different new students were smiling, talking with each other, obviously excited about their new school.
But it front of all the happiness that exude form the crowd, there was one face that stood out, a scowling face at that.
"I can't believe I was assigned to give a tour to some kids." A girl that was wearing sunglasses spoke.
The taller girl next to her took what seems to be a list from her and spoke, "You weren't assigned, you're being punished for slacking off." She looked at the list and flipped it. "You better get moving since you have a lot to cover according to this."
The other girl took the paper back, crumpled it and threw it in the trash bin next to them. "I'd rather not tire myself out for some newbies. Plus they're smart right? They can probably manage to not get lost in such a small place."
"I mean it's your punishment." She shrugged.
"Thank you for being such a great help Maya," She said sarcastically. "What would I ever do without you." She sighed
"Dick" The girl named Maya laughed along with the shorter girl. "Anyway good luck with the kids."
And with that, she took off.
Shaking her head she finally faced the group of students that were waiting and spoke.
"Alright, children listen up! My name is Dana Lilien and please prepare yourselves for a great tour." She said with a smirk.
Dana gestured the group to follow her. They have had a few steps but then someone from the group suddenly spoke.
"Wait, this isn't the right way." A guy pointed out.
Dana raised her eyebrow with an unamused look on her face that said, "Seriously?"
"I-it's there on the far side." His head was down looking at the pavement not wanting to meet the girl's intimidating gaze.
In return, Dana gave a knowing but a shit-eating grin, "Well you see I'm showing you guys a shortcut. Trust me I know where to go, I've been here for a couple of years now." She said with more gusto.
He looked back at the alleged right way, the guy rubbed the back of his neck, clearly hesitating. A few seconds more and he gave in.
Dana spoke, "Let's get on with it."
----
"Oh my god Hope you would not believe the friggin tour I had," Josie exclaimed. "A supposed 'responsible adult' just messed with us 'kids'."
"Why? What's with the air quotes?"
They were in the apartment that Josie's father rented instead of a usual dorm. Hope was sitting on a couch in their living room watching some random documentary.
Josie got a drink from the fridge before sitting down next to Hope on the couch.
"Well, it started with Lizzie not being able to be with me for the nth time. I mean I get that our dynamic was like that but still, I'm a senior now and she's a second-year college student. She should have at least let me know beforehand that she was going to be busy." Josie sighed
Hope looked at her with concern. She, being their childhood or pre-adolescent friend, knew all too well what the Saltzman siblings dynamic was about. Since Lizzie was the older sister she sometimes got a little bossy and self-absorbed. Josie usually just let her do that without really speaking her mind, losing on purpose and always putting herself second. It was like that back then, but as Josie stated they were older, they should know better.
"But that's not the point," Josie said taking a sip of her drink.
"And what exactly is the point?"
With that Josie started her story.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"It was a great day, the wind was blowing and the sun was shining. Our guide was stunning and I thought hey maybe this won't be such a bad idea."
"Wooh is he hot?" Hope said sarcastically.
"She is hot," Josie said pointing her finger up correcting Hope.
"And before you leave," She said, already seeing the bored look on Hope's face. "No, I am not going to gush about how hot she is because A we don't do that and B she is downright rude. So I am here to tell you what happened and bitch about it."
Hope was intrigued. Josie rarely swore and when she did it was pretty serious "Do continue"
-----
"Now this is my favourite spot!" Dana said opening her arms and showing their last location.
They have been going around the town and all around the campus to see, well according to Dana, the best places to eat after hitting that weed.
Josie didn't know whether to laugh or cry because of how absurd this tour was.
"What is this place exactly?" A voice asked.
"This children is where you smoke that weed!"
A handful of students groaned and sighed because of what Dana said. After realizing what a huge waste of time the tour was, almost all of them started to leave. But before that, the girl had to intervene. "Wait wait wait before you guys leave please leave a rating or a recommendation, to the admin office, of how I hands down gave the best tour to all of you. Remember it's Dana Lilien L-I-L-I-E-N." She spelt out.
------
"That girl got all proud of how it all turned out." Josie huffed before eating a handful of popcorn.
Hope's interest was piqued to the point where she had turned off the tv and had a bowl of popcorn with her. Turns out a documentary about the Civil War was not that interesting compared to, what Josie calls, the glamorous tour of Satan.
"I mean I think it's hilarious," Hope said.
"No, you don't get it. She made us walk all around the friggin town just to do some of her errands and barely showed us where we were."
"Oh, that's downright smart and evil." Hope shrugged "A mastermind is what you call a person like that Josie." She stood up and went to the sink to wash the empty bowl.
Josie followed suit and spoke "Heh" She laughed "Well I might have gotten a little bit pissed and done something."
Stopping from her tracks, Hope turned off the faucet. "What did you do?"
"Remember that this girl had no professionalism or any respect towards us at all. She kept cussing in almost every sentence and like I said MADE US DO HER ERRANDS."
"Why would you even do her errands in the first place?"
"We were taken advantage of, she tricked us." Josie shrugged
"I...I can't even," Hope said throwing her hands in defeat. "But what exactly did you say or do to her?"
-------
Dana proudly watched as the different students walked away. She thought of her newest achievement, managing to piss a group of newcomers that were excited for their brand new and fresh start at Whitmore.
A time to reinvent yourself, she cringed
"Well, that was a shit show."
Dana turned around, with a fake smile already plastered on her face. She saw at the opposite of her was a taller brunette standing with her arms crossed.
"Honey no, it was a huge success." Dana responded, "And shouldn't you be going along with your friends?"
"I would," Josie stepped forward "If you had given us the proper tour. I mean what kind of guide would tell us, newbies, were to plan a party and even bring us to crappy restaurants?"
"Uh uh no," Dana waved her finger, looking offended. "Sure if you planned a party there you will, a hundred per cent, get busted by the police. But those restaurants are the bomb." She said wholeheartedly
"After hitting that weed." Josie muttered while pulling something out of her pocket.
Dana furrowed her eyebrows with disgust when she saw the crumpled paper.
"Oh my god, this isn't the same thing you threw out jeez!" Josie shouted knowing what Dana was thinking about.
Her shoulders relaxed and asked the brunette "So where did you get that?"
After letting the other girl see what she held out, she put the paper back inside her pocket. "My sister is part of some committee. Now that shit show you call a tour was unbelievable-"
Josie started to rant but Dana wasn't listening. She was thinking about what the other girl said, about how her sister was part of the committee.
My genius plan is going to get screwed up because of this girl. She looked the brunette up and down and saw that hey this girl is actually pretty cute, even though her chocolate brown eyes were now glaring at her.
"-Why are you looking at me like that?" The owner of the aforementioned eyes asked her.
Dana took off her sunglasses and placed it on her head. The anger plastered on Josie's face faltered for a second as she saw the piercing green eyes looking at her intently.
------
"So you were eye fucking each other?" Hope asked laughing.
"Oh my god no! Why would you say that?!" Josie asked, her face now red from embarrassment or disgust, maybe even both.
Hope laughed again. "Well, it basically sounds like that! But please do continue." She said clearly amused
Josie shuddered and did what Hope said.
-----
After seeing the taller girl's reaction, Dana couldn't resist but to smirk. Before Josie could continue what she was going to say Dana cut her off.
"Fine I quit, I will give you the tour. Obviously not now because if you're not tired I sure as hell am."
Josie nodded.
"But you can't bitch about this to your sister."
"What-"
"You're going to have to trust a total stranger on this." She shrugged "Although you can bitch about it to the admin office. Remember it's Dana Lil-"
Josie rolled her eyes and cut her off "Yeah I got your name." She said and started to walk back to her house finally getting tired.
"Wait! I didn't get yours." Dana shouted
"And I won't give it," Josie put her hand up and waved it "Bye now Satan!" She shouted back and continued to walk.
The green-eyed girl felt the little tug at the corner of her lip. That was fun, she thought.
