Have you ever had this dream where you were falling into nothingness? Just blackness and the feeling of vertigo. This is the closest most people get to feeling the void in between worlds, now multiply this by 10 and this is how Itsuki was currently feeling. Last night he went to bed and woke up in this nothingness, just black no matter where he looked. "At least I still have my clothes on." he looked down at his simple shorts and T-shirt when they suddenly started to glow and change to mediaeval clothing. When the glowing of his clothing stopped a floating, glowing piece of parchment appeared in front of him. On the parchment was a drawing of a man with wings. “An angel?” Itsuki asked while the drawing of the man was stretching. “I'm not an angel, boy. I'm Hermes, the god of messages, travel, and more.” Itsuki looked at the drawing move and spoke, it was weird, the noises weren't coming from the piece of paper but from its mind. He tried to remember what he was told about the Greek gods but the drawing of Hermes stopped him. “The Greek gods of your world are nothing related to us but names and jobs, we share different personalities and pasts so you can forget about it.” Itsuki nodded as Hermes explained what was going on. Earth, the planet that Itsuki was from, has a lot of mana that almost no one uses. Earth wasn't the only planet in the universe that didn't use mana, there are around 1000 plants that don't use mana that are being called Full of mana planets (F.M.P for short) because no one uses that mana. Most of those were scientifically advanced and usually had one humanoid species (humans, elves, dwarfs, etc..), the birth rate was lower at those plants but the death rate was lower as well, people lived longer because there weren't any dangerous monsters like dragons and the usage of medicines against disease.
The rest of the 5000 plants that host life have the exact opposite: higher death rates, higher birth rates and lower span of life and they also lack mana because everyone uses them. “So what does that have to do with me?” Itsuki looked at the god, he was pretty sure what was going to happen but needed confirmation. “The gods of plenty of the mana-using planets transfer mana from that 1000 F.M.P to get more mana because the humanoids are using mana too fast and it can’t regenerate fast enough. Now, to transfer mana one needs to also transfer a person or a soul, usually it will be a dead person ....” “I died!?” Itsuki gasped as he tried to remember how he did. “Let me finish you stupid mortal. As I was saying, usually we will take someone who died or someone who has no will to live but still keeps on living. And before you ask, no, you won’t be getting any cheat powers, we aren't trying/ to get the world destroyed or get united into one nation so don't think about it.” Hermes stopped and let Itsuku sink in what he just said. After a few minutes, Itsuki looked at him and asked. “Can I go back?” “No, this is a one-way trip and it is in the process where we can't undo it, not like you have everything to return to, everything related to your memory was wiped, and every picture or video you were on disappeared. It will be too much of a hassle to reimplant you in every person's memory we took, erasing is easy, but reimplanting is harder. And before you ask, the gods of the earth don’t care that we take people and mess with a few people's memory, they don't care about you and neither do we so let’s move on to the next phase.” Hermes clapped his hand and next to him on the parchment appeared what looked like a status board just like in RPGs.

Name: Dave Class: TBD
Level:1 HP:110 MP:130
Strength:7 Vitality:11 Agility:8 Intelligence:13 Preception:5
The first thing Itsuki noticed when he saw the profile was the name on it. "my name is Itsuki, not Dave." "You will stand out too much, also you aren't even Japanese." Itsuki, or now Dave as Hermes decided just sighed under his breath. "you can blame my anime-obsessed parents for that." As Dave said that Hermes snapped his fingers, and the status sheet disappeared and was replaced by a list of what appeared to be the classes.
Warrior: from hand-to-hand combat to the use of the sword the warrior can be a tank to a damage dealer. +3 to strength, +2 vitality, +1 to the rest of the stats at each level.
Mage: the ability to use mana to form reality. From the common element ball to healing and even taming monsters. +3 to intelligence, +2 to perception +1 to the rest of the stats at each level.
Rouge: from sneaking around to tracking people. The rouge uses everything it can to defeat an enemy. +3 to agility, +2 to perception, +1 to the rest of the stats at each level.
“Those are the basic classes, at level 10 you will be offered to evolve your class in different directions depending on your actions and skills and your past life.” Hermes said while Dave looked at the classes deep in thought. ‘the warrior will be a good way to level up fast and alone but my stats are built more for either a mage or rouge. My wisdom is higher probably because of all the puzzles I enjoyed doing like Rubix cube and riddles. I should probably go with mage based on my stats but there are a lot of jokes about how fragile they are, though based on my agility I could probably run from most monsters… Also, most chances are that I will be alone for a while, the gods don't care about me or anyone else apparently.’ Hermes was looking at Dave with an annoyed look as he waited. “Can you hurry up, I have 9 more people after you. Yes, you will be alone, we are going to send you to a forest with basic equipment like a tent, a few sandwiches and a starting gear for class and a guidebook to it and the world so just choose already or I will do it for you!” Dave snapped and quickly said, “Mage, I'll be a mage!” As soon as Dave said that his body started to glow bright blue, sending him to his new world, Spade. “Just 9 more to go Hermes and then the mana will be back to normal…
