When one is transformed from a human to a superior being. The process has a peculiar feel to it. The best way to describe it would be for you to imagine being stuffed inside of a sleeping bag that was just a tad too small then thrown into a coffin filled with liquid cement and buried alive six feet deep. A claustrophobia sets in as the cement dries. The sound of the dirt covering the coffin is like a hammer pounding a nail. Each shovel full of dirt you can feel the air grow thinner. Thin air isn’t the problem however, the real problem is how dirty what little air is left becomes. Every breath is filled with small particles of dirt as you struggle against the ever-drying cement. Coughing and gasping for air in between each cough only increases the difficulty of the struggle to breathe.
Once the air runs out that’s when the pain begins. Your lungs feel like they are on fire because they can’t get any oxygen. They begin to aspirate blood. Your body begins to go cold and then all at once it happens you die. Your heart stops and it is at this moment you start to become something else. The transformation only truly begins once you are dead. The venom begins to ignite in your bloodstream. Your body begins burning up. Like magma coursing through your veins. Your heart starts up again and takes off like a racing horse. Bones break and shatter and liquify. Liquified bones begin to restructure and harden stronger than ever before.
Tissue is swiftly replaced by parasitic cells as the venom is pushed to every corner of the body via the bloodstream. Muscles remade to be strong enough to lift fully loaded shipping container vessels. Nerves turned into super conductive fluid pathways that allow sensory input to reach superhuman speeds. The stomach is reformed so it can digest pounds of raw meat and gallons of blood more efficiently. It is at this point the transformation slows down. All things previously took place in seconds. The pain from this sudden reanimating and rapid transformation is so painful, concrete is used to keep a person in place up to this point.
Now the second phase of the transformation commences. The second phase is incomparable from person to person. In some cases, it happens in days and in others it can take weeks. A person becomes more than a reanimated human with superior physique. It is at this phase their unique quirks begin to develop and manifest. They become superior individuals unrivaled in their form as they will never be the same. In this case heat was building up exponentially. It erupted forth and destroyed the concrete and coffin and made a massive crater. An exceedingly violent birth but one worth the creature that had been born.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
“This one is truly something special” Gil smiled as he looked at the crater made by the newest member to join them.
“Well shall we welcome him to the Covenant, now that it’s official?” Sakura asked as she admired the destruction created by the newborn.
“I say we ought to celebrate with a feast because the newborn is certain to be hungry” Victor added.
The trio stared at the newborn knowing immediately that he was far stronger than any of them and that he would only widen the gargantuan chasm that separated them. Instinctually they began to bow only to be stopped by their own egos. They could not submit to one stronger than themselves without a fight. He had to earn his place at the top through forced submission and domination of all weaker than him.
The newborn stood in all his naked glory a new chiseled frame sculpted not only to be strong and durable but to attract mates. He turned his head towards the trio confused and suddenly he bared a mouthful of razor-sharp teeth at them. His mind was empty, but his body was hungry. So hungry.
Before anyone could blink, he dashed past them. He could smell fresh flesh and he needed to sate this hungry deep inside of him. His eyes saw through the massive cedar trees that surrounded him in the dense forest and straight through the giant black marble building. In the building he saw beating hearts, sucrose filled brains, and soft tissue squishing around. They were humans and yet he only saw them as sources of food. As he reached the building the doors opened for him as though he was its owner. The fortress seemed to light the most convenient path to the food.
Flesh filled his hands and mouth. Tearing through the humans was easy. Meat slipped right off the bone. Their screams sounded like a symphony of soft jazz. His hunger was dissipating. As it vanished his mind began to fill not with his own thoughts and memories but those of his food. Their dreams, aspirations, love, hatred, fear, knowledge, and even some of their skills. It was as if a million televisions, radios, and phones all began turning on and ringing at max volume. It was too much. He collapsed.
“Hahaha” Victor laughed as he watched the newborn writhe in agony “hurts like hell the first time.”
“Tell me how to stop it” Victor stepped back as the newborn yelled at him in between his pained screams.
“You can talk” Victor asked.
“Yes, now tell me how to make it stop!” The newborn screamed again.
“I told you he was special” Gil walked pass Victor and offered a hand to the newborn.
“Now come young one I. No, we have much to teach you” Gil pulled the newborn close.
