"Gg, dipstick, we won." Bai smirked as he swallowed down the wad of blood pooling in his mouth, already he could feel Venom her best patching up his bleeding and broken body. His left arm was broken and hangin limply by his side and his exoskeleton was covered in cracks and holes, but he was alive and standing so that had to count for something. Hopefully he'll last long enough to get back home where they'll manage to get the all the poisons out of his body. Nothing hurts quite as much as pumping yourself so full of Gamma rays and toxins that your blood starts eating at your innards, but it sure worked wonders on taking the discount vampire by surprise.
"You miserable cretin," Morlun spat out as he clutched the stump where his arm used too be, purple glowing ichor leaking between his fingers. His fancy tuxedo was in tatters and his eyes rendered blind by horrible acid burns. "You'd go this far, sign your own death warrant, just to spite me? A mere child's tantrum. This is nothing more than a momentary inconvenience at best, you'll die here, do you hear me boy?"
"Probably," Bai admitted easily enough, even as he did his best to stimulate his healing with Chi he could tell he was running on fumes, if it wasn't for Venom and his Hunter suit's two remaining mechanical spider legs he would've collapsed by now. Vee's presence retreated from his mind as they focused fully on making sure they survive this ordeal. "but I think I did a just a little bit more than simply spite you." Oh boy, Bai really wished that the team would hurry up before he passed out from blood lost. Or that Morlun would finally notice how he was dead on his feet.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
"What are you rambling on about now?"
"Well, I don't happen to have a watch on me, but I would say that by now Gwen would've just about finished destroying your cloning facilities. End of the line bucko, no more spare lives, no more respawns."
Bai had expected many things, a scream of denial, a roar of rage, one final charge to kill his enemy. What he didn't expect was a bellowing laughter that sent chills down his spine. It didn't help that his Spider Senses went haywire. This... This wasn't mere "danger". This was the certainty of death, an invisible noose tied around his neck that he never noticed until the very moment it went taunt. Venom didn't say anything, but Bai was infinitely grateful to feel the comforting squeeze of his uniform like a full body hug. That he wasn't all alone in the end.
Game over indeed.
There was no more witty banter, just one final stare down and two bloody grins before everything went black.
