Chapter 7: A Young Noble Vampire

Chapter 7: A Young Noble Vampire

I always looked down on humans. I thought they were mere insects compared to vampires. No… that’s wrong, everyone was weak compared to my family. (Lisa)

—————————————

1 day before New Beginning's attack.

“My lady! Are you sure this is a smart move? What if we need you?” (Abigail)

In the large room within the palace of the Last Frontier, a maid pleaded her case to her friend and queen. She disapproved of her friend’s decision to go to the Lost City. Mabel was the queen of their city and now that they had received threats from an unknown group known as New Beginnings, she decided going to help the Lost City would be for the best.

”Selena is to young. I should have stepped in the moment William decided to leave. Last I heard, he was rebuilding his old family estate. What ever he hope to fine, must seem more important than his own kingdom.” (Mabel)

”What about us? What if we need you? What if this is what they want?” (Abigail)

”You’re joking right? The inner circle was established for this very reason. We know what the outside world is like but they’ve been trapped in that city. They don’t know what it’s like other than what they teach in school.” (Mabel)

"But still..." (Abigail)

After Mabel was notified that the teleportation portal was ready, she told her childhood to protect the city and left.

----------------------------------------

"I see so we closed off the portal for civilian use but left the royal ones open? Wait, how many portals do we even have?" (Julie)

On the other side of Mabel portal, Julie and Selena were waiting for Mabel's arrival. Selena felt embarrassed when she was told that she was no longer fit to rule. The truth was, Mabel wasn't trying to tell her that she wasn't qualified to be queen but everything happened so fast and it simply wasn't fair. In Mabel's eyes. it wasn't the proper way to hand over a throne so it was best if she took command for now and helped stabilize the situation.

"I told you, every domain has one and then there's the royal capital..." (Selena)

"What's the matter?" (Julie)

Selena was deep in her thoughts when she mentioned the portals. Very few things flooded her head but one of them was about the way New Beginning was moving around. The method of the teleportation portals or gates depending on how people see it was something Allister helped invent and eventually introduced to the Last Frontier. Originally, they were only strong enough to move citizens from one section of the city to the other. Although it sounded amazing, unfortunately, it was still within the city parameters but it helped vacate a portion of the city as seen from their last attack. Eventually, they were able to extend farther out and helped connect a gate between the Last Frontier and the Lost City.

For reasons unknown, When the Blood king, a.k.a David Vasquez ruled the city, an invisible barrier was put over the Lost City, People couldn't leave past a certain distance. The ocean was even blocked off. The only weird thing was that animals and such weren't restricted. In other words, people could hunt, fish, and even farm. They didn't live in the stone age but they were oblivious to the going on's when it came to the outside world. Rumor had it that David set up the barrier to trap all the humans as he watched them live their own lives, others believed he protected them from the danger of the outside, while some even speculated that the previous vampires cursed their home just before they were massacred. In the end, a certain human who is now in hiding from within Selena's apartment, established the connection between other cities that sped up their civilization. Now people could move freely, watch tv and utilize phones to a certain extent, thanks the Last Frontier and everything they were able to preserve before the world ended. Which brings us too...

"What is it Selena?" (Julie)

"New Beginning... We would have noticed if they moved to the Last Frontier. After all... There's a process. We even had mages move here and they should have been able to detect any abnormalities in humans. So what if that portal wasn't the one they used... and even if it was... what if they've been paying them off, or worse... We have a traitor amongst us." (Selena)

"Interesting. My gate is always guarded and my sister doesn't care about using it. My fiancé has yet to use his and Raymond can be a fool but he would never betray the noble family he serves. All that leaves is..." (Julie)

"Adrian wouldn't..." (Selena)

"Dude, your brother is weird and lowkey creepy. Didn't your father say to watch out for him?" (Julie)

Selena didn't want to believe it but before she could make a decision, Mabel appeared before them.

"Good evening. Lets get to work. (Mabel)

----------------------------------------

Each prison was designed differently. Selena theory was that New Beginning's plan was to target each one. Every domain held their own since the city was cut into four sections or rather, reduced to four sections when almost every royal vampire and their off springs were killed off. Since the prison break, Selena was able to arrest some that held abilities and some that didn't. Although isn't was mentioned, Lisa and Allister were able to increase the numbers. Selena felt bad after what Liz did when it came to imprisoning them and how it was handled now that they were free. Those that wanted a new life would be set free into the other cities now open to them and those that resisted would stay in prison. Unfortunately, this wasn't an easy task and it required a lot of time and processing. She was able to guess that an attack would be imminent and decided to split them up between Gabriel and Julie's domain. What she wasn't expecting was the fact that Gabriel would later find out that Liz kept more unique people deep underground and that was her biggest worry.

Gabriel's prison was near a harbor just away from down town where as Julies prison was more close the the City wall, which was surrounded by a forest. They weren't easy to infiltrate but that only applied to normal humans, so the best thing they could do was to supply guards with weapons and even include a few extra vampires from lesser families. In Julie's Domain, Jorge and Chris were staring at the prison from a distance, waiting for the attack to begin.

"Are we sure that Alex will attack here?" (Jorge)

"No. But that guy told us that May was taken here, so we can assume he will come too." (Chris)

"Something doesn't feel right... Besides, how are we even going to get in. they're heavily guarded." (Jorge)

"I'm not so sure. They made sure improve security but the truth is, they're not trained to defend against humans with abilities. You remember what Lisa said, she had our faces but no clue on what we were really capable of. Luckily we gave her an idea on some abilities but what about the rest who were stuck in another section of the prison?. Regardless, whether they're prepared or not, this attack will catch them by surprise." (Chris)

"Your right. I fought a vampire when I was younger and killed him. Although it was thanks to the training I received, I could easily tell that he wasn't prepared to fight someone like me... But still... How do they plan to get in? They'll be spotted from a distance." (Jorge)

Chris shook her head in agreement. Perhaps Ivan knew this outcome, and perhaps he knew lives would be lost on both side. The biggest question was, what did they hoped to gain from all this? He wanted a revolution but will using an army that's trying to escape with their very lives be enough? Which led her to another question. Who and what was beneath Lisa's prison.

Although I want to help Alex, what ever is beneath Lisa's prison must be very crucial. I don't know why but I get the chills just thinking about it. I want to help... No, my grandfather is there. Mom said he was one of the strongest people she knew. I have to trust him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Chroniclers Domain: Chronicler's Prison

Lisa was receiving an update on their security while Allister stared down at the prison court yard, listening in.

"Good, thank you. Make sure we have personal walk around the parameter every hour, on the hour." (Lisa)

"Yes my lady!" (Guard 1)

After the guard left, Lisa looked at Allister, wondering if he had anything to say. Since the reveal that they had more unique people imprisoned beneath their feet, as well as the fact that this group had evolved big enough to pose a threat to the city, she couldn't help but feel embarrassed in front of her uncle.

"Lisa, do you know who is down there?" (Allister)

"Not necessarily. Their called by numbers and we have no idea what their abilities could be. After Liz left, all known documents on their powers were erased. The doctors even had their minds erased. Luckily Gabriel was able to track down one doctor who worked with Liz. Some one she's had been very close with. He was able to provide photos of every inmate but not information when it comes to their names and powers. To make things worse, there was nothing on the one's who were separated from Jorge and the others." (Lisa)

"And Liz kept this all under your nose?" (Allister)

Allister looked at Lisa with a worried look, wondering how no one had ever question how she was running things but then again. Vampire rarely ever suspect one another, especially within their own domain.

"I was always sleeping and then I had school. I couldn't care less about what my sister was doing work wise. Gabriel was to busy learning the ropes from William and my father..." (Lisa)

"Tell me Lisa. Why do you think these people were never caught." (Allister)

"Well..." (Lisa)

"And don't say it's because of the support they received or how good they were at hiding." (Allister)

She froze. Lisa didn't know how to respond but deep down, she knew the answer. Since the moment she was tasked with hunting them down, the same words kept coming out from peoples mouths. "Who cares, their insects". She couldn't complain either, since there was a time when Lisa also felt this way towards everyone.

"Because no one cared enough. They never saw them as a threat. We hunted them if we ever got the chance or if they attacked but the reality is... no one cared." (Lisa)

Allister didn't say word, he just walked away. He didn't blame them or showed disappointment. They escaped and now they were big enough to pose a threat, all he had to do was figure our how they were moving around and what to do next.

----------------------------------------------------------

A glimpse into Lisa's life.

"Hey sis, what are you up to?" (Lisa)

A little Lisa came waddling into their families library, where she found Liz reading. Every noble owned about 2 estates. One was located within the city of their domain while the other was just on the outskirt of the city in a more forest like area, just within the Lost city barrier where they would be protected by the forest spirit.

"Lisa, you should be careful. Its not safe to wander around alone! Where are the maids?" (Liz)

"I snuck past them because I was looking for you! Gabriel went back to our other home with Al so I came to play with you." (Lisa)

Liz gave up since arguing with a toddler would prove to be useless. She picked up Lisa and placed her on her lap.

"What are you reading?" (Lisa)

"I'm just doing some studying on our kind and history of this world." (Liz)

"When those lowly human owned majority of it? Gross." (Lisa)

"You shouldn't talk like that Lisa. In some peoples eyes, we're also considered lowly." (Liz)

"Ha, Anyone who isn't related to us are insects in my eyes, All the humans and vampires in this city just do whatever they want. There's no social order and father just watches them. Knowing theres nothing they can do to him. That's power." (Lisa)

Lisa puffed out her chest as she spoke proudly while Liz could only sigh. Poking her cheek, she had noticed a big yawn coming out of Lisa, signifying that it was almost time for her to sleep.

"You're getting tired. I figured it was almost time for you to go back into your deep sleep." (Liz)

"You seem to always know when its time. Its a little creepy... Why must I go to sleep anyways... Its so lame, I always miss out on all the fun stuff you get to do." (Lisa)

"Because you're still a young vampire. When a vampire is born, they grow while they sleep. It can take up to 80 or even a hundred years. Once you wake up from your last last sleep, you'll look like a teenager with bright red eyes which is proof of some maturity. Generally speaking, most youngling would stay in their home estate until they mature, where they can sleep off their years. That's why Gabriel returned home. Besides, I always make sure to know when its time so your not caught off guard and accidently hurt yourself dummy." (Liz)

Liz flicked the side of Lisa head out of amusement, but Lisa didn't care.

"Will I be considered an adult when I officially wake up?" (Lisa)

You sure ask a lot of big questions for a child. For your coming of age, once you receive both of your parents blood, then you will be considered a full fledge noble but one must undergo a few test. Its only tradition after all, since a parent can't just willing give their blood. Although I heard, even if you take it with out meeting the requirement the parent set, it would only temporarily give you half of their power." (Liz)

Lisa's head swirled as if in orbit from all the information she had received. She couldn't help but wonder where her sister got all this information from.

"I studied." (Liz)

"I didn't say anything!" (Lisa)

"Listen Lisa. The Chroniclers are said to be the keepers of all knowledge. That's why we're greatly feared. We don't go crazy like other vampire's who live a long time. We can ease their pain by getting rid of pointless memories or we can use this information to better ourselves. We can learn many things with out having to do all the training. Our great grandparents lived a very long time and learned many things, all in order to store it and pass it down one day. Its hidden somewhere in this library. I'm sure of it." (Liz)

"You sound like Gabriel. Being all smart and leaving me behind." (Lisa)

Liz chuckled and assured her that she would understand when she's older. One thing that popped into Lisa mind was how they planned to receive their mothers blood and what kind test would would they from their father.

"Mother's test is a secret but she left her blood for us, that's for sure. I don't know about dad's though... It could be in the form of a battle, a riddle, or even just learning lessons on life. Its totally up to him." (Liz)

Lisa nodded as her eyes slowly started to shut for the next 20 years.

The next time I would woke up would be when a baby named Jorge began living with us. I think it was the time babysitting him that helped me kind of see humans in a different light or rather, see him differently. When I think about it, most of my disappointment in them was from the history books Gabriel read so I never really tried to understand them as individuals. Before Jorge turned 4, I fell asleep for another 2-3 years. Liz told me that vampires couldn't control when or for how long but based on historic events. Our sleep time would shortened as we got older.

"You have to be ruthless! Show no mercy to anyone!" (Lisa)

Lisa puffed out her chest as she explained to a 6 year old Jorge about how showing weakness can give the enemy an upper hand. The only issue for Jorge was that Lisa wasn't referring to combat but rather everyone in general.

"I understand but it feels weird acting like that towards everyone I encounter." (Jorge)

"Listen up Jorge. We're the Chroniclers. Compared to us? Everyone is an insect. Why else would my father be the way he is? We must follow his example." (Lisa)

"You say that but... You forget I'm not really blood... So, what does that make me?" (Jorge)

She froze for a second and then cuddled Jorge to reassure him that he's family. He hated when she treated him like a kid despite knowing she was much much older, she still resembled that of a 9-10 year old.

"Maybe there's more to people than meets the eye." (Jorge)

"Trust me. There isn't. I've seen and heard enough about the city to know how ruthless people are. Luckily Liz, has taken control of crime within our domain but it's different everywhere else. They're savages." (Jorge)

"People can change. What about your friends? Are they insects?" (Jorge)

"I did have a friend once but she stopped talking to me. Maybe her sister told her to or perhaps she was just afraid and angry for what my father did... I decided to be like him so if they tried anything. I would be ready. Then it wouldn't matter how they see me." (Lisa)

"I have yet to meet the king but I wonder if he really compares himself to everyone like that." (Jorge)

Jorge got ready to leave, informing Lisa that today would be his first mission with Liz and it would be wise not to keep her waiting.

---------------------------

"So this is the barrier." (Lisa)

Once Jorge went off on some mission, Lisa snuck out and made her way through the forest. Something she never had time to do with Liz or Al around, constantly watching her every move. Eventually she came to a complete stop when reaching the end of the forest, or at least where the barrier would be. Placing her hand it, she could feel that it wouldn't let her through.

"I never understood how this worked but seeing it for myself... I guess it makes sense. I wish I could see these people that apparently walk even after death... I doubt they're even tough, another reason why I can't see my father being the one who put up this barrier." (Lisa)

She stopped talking to herself when she smelled the scent of another. Lisa quickly climbed a nearby tree and made her way to the source, only to find a group of children sitting around a woman who looked to be giving them a lesson.

"Students? How peaceful. Although, it seems I'm not the only one whose noticed them." (Lisa)

From a distance, Lisa could see a wild moose making its way towards the group.

"And this class is why you should investigate berries. You might end up eating poisonous berries instead. you could tell by the color because..." (Teacher)

"Teacher, what's that?" (Student A)

The teacher looked and noticed the moose quickly approaching them. When she ordered everyone to run, one of the student tripped and fell, scraping his knee. To scared to get up, he could only watch while the moose made its way until Lisa jumped down, stomping on it as blood splashed all over her. After a moment of silence, the boy spoke.

"Thank you..." (Student A)

"Get lost." (Lisa)

"What?" (Student A)

"I can smell your blood, and I haven't eaten recently. So, Get the hell out of here!" (Lisa)

After the boy ran off in fear, Lisa stared at the sky, hoping to distract herself from the urges bottling up inside. In the end, she couldn't hold it back and a sinister smile appeared as saliva flowed out from her mouth.

"Oh well. I tried." (Lisa)

The next thing I remembered was encircling the boy from above the trees. Right when I was about to dive down to him, that's when Al jumped in and intervened.

Lisa stood face to face with the very person who was ordered to protect her. HIs face was hidden with the help of a theatre looking mask but no one could miss his yellow hair. Lisa didn't care, only anger could be seen on her face because of her dinner getting away.

"Al. You should get out of the way or else I'll kill you." (Lisa)

"..." (Al)

Although Al couldn't speak, he was easy to understand if you were close to him. He tried to convince Lisa that she wasn't in her right mind due to not having enough blood, but it proved to be pointless. Lisa ran towards him with the intent to kill, Al's only choice now was to restrain and knock her out. He cut his wrist which allowed a thin string like blood to spill that moved on his command. Vampire's with magical background were said to be capable of using blood magic. In Al's case, it was a type of blood manipulation where he can control a large amount of blood that flowed in a thin like layer. He was able to use it to restrain his enemies and even sharpen it enough to decapitate them.

"You dare fight the noble your meant to protect! Now that's hilarious!" (Lisa)

"..." (Al)

Al mumbled, but in Lisa's ears, she heard...

"I don't wish to hurt you. This isn't like you Lisa. Get a hold of yourself!" (Al)

Al used his string like blood to capture Lisa, but it was slapped away with her over whelming strength, leaving blood to splatter around her.

"You won't get anywhere with such weak moves." (Lisa)

He continued to plead, reminding her of Jorge and how he's family. Would he approve of her actions? She hesitated for a second which gave Al the chance to grab her, stretching Lisa's body in every direction.

"Al... I can't control myself... I'm so thirsty..." (Lisa)

Lisa slowly began pulling the string wrapped around her wrist even as they bled until both of her hands were sliced off. Her actions made Al release her incase he accidently got her head and feet as well. What surprised him even more was when Lisa's blood that came from her handless arms began to move on its own and created iron like claws as if replacing what was once there.

"..." (Al)

"I know... I just found out as well... Time for round two." (Lisa)

This time, her speed was even quicker as every thing Al threw at her was easily cut and blown away, when Lisa got close enough, Al decided he had no choice and used his trump card. As his hair glowed a bright yellow, lightning was released from his palms, launching Lisa back, even when she used her hands as a shield. Her block was able to send the bolt of lighting into the sky, although she was harmed, it couldn't stop Lisa's hands from crumbling away.

"What the hell was that!? No matter." (Lisa)

"That's enough" (David)

As she readied herself for another attack, her father came descending down from the sky with shadow like wings. She couldn't comprehend the situation, why would her father, the very man who stayed within the palace come out now? He would come home every now and then but not once did he come for her. Lisa feared and respected him, the man who was said to have killed almost all the noble and royal vampires. A god who chose to watch over the city and its inhabitants from a throne.

"Father... Why are you..." (Lisa)

"Lisa, enough with all this nonsense. Al is family. It's time you grew up. If this is how your going to act... then I guess you're not the daughter I expected you to be." (David)

"What..." (Lisa)

"It's time you thought about what it means to be apart of this world. Go to sleep." (David)

She couldn't move fast enough to react but her eyes were able to see David's shadow move as it enveloped her in complete darkness.

When I awoke, I was back in my room; wounds healed and all. As I laid in bed, I thought I had imagined my father being there that day. I didn't understand what he meant. The way he spoke was as if he'd been watching me this whole time. What did he want me to be then? It wasn't until I felt a breeze through my room that I realized I wasn't alone.

A girl stood by her balcony window; with black hair and red eye, it was easy to tell she was another noble.

"Why are you here Janet." (Lisa)

"I saw you fighting Alphonse [Al], even up to when your father showed up." (Janet)

Janet Gwendoline was Julie's younger sister. They had different mothers so she wasn't as good with the sword as Julie was. Apparently her mother was a noble from overseas and her family had a magical background prior to becoming vampires. Although it wasn't always the case in most of her relatives, they were the very first nobles to use blood magic, and it was complete blood manipulation. Not a small part of it like Al or his brother Raymond who can only use certain skills. She was always sleeping but most of all... She was my very first friend.

"You never answered my question. Why are you here. I thought you weren't speaking to me and what's with that get up?" (Lisa)

"Oh this? The twins picked it out for me. Apparently going out with just a big T-shirt isn't a good look for a princess. To answer your other question... It's because your my friend. I told my sister off a few years ago but that wasn't the reason why I stopped visiting. My deep sleep has just been longer than yours. If you bothered checking up on me, you'd know that idiot." (Janet)

Janet sat beside Lisa on the bed, giving her a gentle look.

"I don't care about what your father did, I was a baby but even if I remembered my father, I doubt he would have been as loving as your family. You forget vampires are fundamentally cold, even towards their own family but then again... my sister has changed since growing up with Liz... even if they aren't really friends anymore." (Janet)

Lisa, didn't move from her bed. She just stared at the ceiling out of embarrassment since she thought Janet hated her.

"Well anyways. I just wanted to check up on you and tell you that. Oh, by the way... Arthur said to please reply to his proposal. He doesn't mind waiting until your deep sleep cycle ends though." (Janet)

Janet's body began to turn into a reddish dust like dried blood crumbling away as it got blew into the air.

After a while. I decided that I would try to be better. I begged Al to forgive me but he freaked out when I got on my knees, Janet and I kept in touch, I tried to tell Jorge but he got all cocky about killing some lesser vampire and most of the time, he was busy fighting the crime within our domain. Gabriel was being Gabriel, now that I noticed.. He was getting friendlier with Will... I asked Liz for advise and she told me to go to school once I was matured. The next time I woke up would be about 4 years later, I notice my time had gotten shorter. I was told that when I was just a baby, my longest sleep last around 40 years. Although it was short, one thing did change...

"What do you mean Jorge is dead?" (Lisa)

"..." (Al)

After Lisa woke up, she spent a few days exercising and testing out her more mature body. She was no longer a toddler but a short child in her mid teens. Once she drank her weekly dose of blood, she figured looking for Jorge would be the next move until Al arrived and dropped this news on her lap.

"Your telling me some human by the name of Bomb Blast Jack killed him? That impossible... other than Jorge... The elders should have driven away if not, killed any human with magical abilities." (Lisa)

Al went on to explain how they may have missed someone, not ever revealing the news of how this individual actually snuck in at the same time Jorge did when he was just a baby. He also insisted that Lisa keep this private among the people since Liz explained how this was just a a bunch of thugs using explosives and not some person with the power to create it from the palm of his hands.

"I see..." (Lisa)

I didn't cry for him. Perhaps it was my vampire blood that stopped me from showing such emotions. I laughed, got angry, and even annoyed but when it came down to losing someone important to me... Its like my heart stopped me from releasing such emotions but I knew one thing, now that he was gone... life would be boring. Everything Jorge and Liz did to clean up this corrupt city was pointless. People were still scum but within all that trash... Apparently some human stepped forward to help which inspired others. I knew deep down, Jorge wanted to better this city so I decided to postpone going to school and instead play my part as a noble by joining up with our law enforcement on catching criminals. I made sure to dig deep, punish anyone, whether they were human or vampires. Luckily, our family really didn't have vampires serving under us like most nobles other than Al but there was still trouble spreading into our part of the city.

"The production of guns and ammunitions should have stopped when my father became king. So clearly these criminals are getting them from somewhere?" (Lisa)

"Yes your highness but I assure you that we haven't been providing them with any of ours." (Chief of police)

Lisa was in the office of the Chief of Police who was in charge of the police from within their domain. She was going over documents and letters that they received from various people. They were sort of like request for help, jobs one would see if they were in a guild.

"I want a full accountability of our armament. If some are missing then we know how to handle it, other than that... There's only one noble family that specializes in making weapons. I doubt Julie is to blame but her family isn't really tasked with making all the weapons are they? No, it would have to be one of her vampire factions that focuses on guns rather than blades." (Lisa)

"Yes my lady, right away." (Chief of police)

"One more thing before you go. This orphanage is saying that some gang is constantly asking for money in exchange for protection." (Lisa)

"Yes well, that seems to be the case for many places here." (Chief)

"Well that stops today. We are the protection. Make sure to send reports like these to me and I'll personally put a stop to it." (Lisa)

Even though they took orders from her, it was tough for not only the police but the citizen from within the Chroniclers domain since they knew what they were capable of. After all, they're king was the one who not only killed the vampires that ruled over their city for centuries but also decided not to do anything when crimes arose. It wasn't until after Lisa proved herself that people began to hope again.

"If you guys surrender, I won't have to kill you." (Lisa)

"Fight until your last breath." (?)

Fast forwarding, Lisa was now facing the very group who was extorting money. Receiving their location thanks to a local orphanage, she pleaded that they'd surrender or she would have to annihilate them. Her words had no effect and now she was faced with bullets being rained on her, she sighed as blood was used to create a big enough shield that covered her entire body. The end result? Only 2 out of 8 survived. After the fight, she worked with the police to take in the survivors and clean up the mess.

"My lady, we've been taking in a lot of prisoners. Are you sure we have enough room in our prison?" (Random officer)

"Liz told me that she's been expanding the prison. She also plans to send some to Julie's domain as well." (Lisa)

"Oh that's right! How did I forget? Her highness Liz and Jonathon have changed so much! We were so scared of you guys because of who your father was but now that has changed... I mean no offense..." (Random Officer.)

"Don't worry about it." (Lisa)

The officer was called over by another and left Lisa in deep thought.

That's right... The human Liz works with is named Jonathon. This isn't the first time someone has sang his praise either... What is my father thinking? What's he doing? Only one way to find out!

Lisa made her way to the palace, when she busted down the door to throne, she was shocked to find that the seat was vacant but more than that was how there was a table in the center of the room with humans negotiating and running around. Papers were flying back and forth as one specific person looked at the board , examining the documents pinned to it.

"What the F is this?!" (Lisa)

No one other then the man staring at the board payed any attention to her yelling.

"Ahh, you must be Lisa. Your sister told me you would be coming one day." (Jonathon)

"Just Lisa? You forget that... Forget it. Where is my father? and who the hell are you?!" (Lisa)

"David? He's off making contact with a far away city for me I don't know how but he and Liz found a wat to get past the barrier. I try not to question it though... Oh right, you also asked about me... I'm Jonathon. Acting president to your domain? or at least that's the title I was given." (Jonathon)

"You dare call my fath... Forget it. My father, why did he choose you?" (Lisa)

Lisa circled around the man, examining his body from head to toe.

There's nothing special about him and yet he's allowed to work out of here?

"I don't know either, I helped with the city when those bombs went off. Apparently my skills for rallying and encouraging people was what they needed." (Jonathon)

Bullshit. Did my sister see something in him? A future that would benefit this city? Then what about my father? running errands for him? How is he even getting past the barrier? I wonder if it has something to do with his ability... it would explain why Liz can also leave. Was this your plan father? You stayed back all these years until some human had the courage to step up?

"Now that would be hilarious." (Lisa)

"I'm sorry?" (Jonathon)

"Don't worry about it. If you have my families support than that's all I need to know. I will continue to help clean the city in my own way." (Lisa)

"Please do. You have been quite helpful! thank you." (Jonathon)

That was my first encounter with the human named Jonathon, although his reign would only last a few years. His plan to expand his rules and help other domains would threaten the vampire's social standing and rule. Eventually William would follow suit and take the credit for saving his domain and demand Jonathon be secretly killed before anyone remembered him once he over threw my father but that was later.

"My name is Lisa Chronicler. Yes I am a noble vampire and yes my father is the Bloodless king. No, I won't be offended if you ask question about it but I will get annoyed if a lot of question are thrown at me all at once... It's a pleasure to meet you!" (Lisa)

After a few years, Lisa started her freshmen year in school. Luckily while she was awake, she was educated by private teachers in her old estate so there was hardly any catching up need other than how much teens changed over the years. The room was silent, they didn't know how to react. Should they be afraid? In awe? or amazed by her status. After the teacher told Lisa that she could take the seat in the back, her first day of class began. When class finished, Lisa paid the teacher a visit.

"Teacher I have a question. Why is it that we don't talk about the outside world? Our history class only mention how vampires rules until my father took over but nothing more on the barrier or how the worlds became the way it did?" (Lisa)

"That's a good question Lisa. Unfortunately, we simply don't know the truth. Anything we teach about it would be based on theories and no actual facts. Its a topic we'll be going over later on but we try to not assume for the students sake at least. We don't know who started the barrier and since we've been locked away in this city, we simply don't know if the dead actually exist beyond the forest." (Lisa)

"I see... I was told that they existed but I guess I don't really have proof either since I never encountered one." (Lisa)

Lisa walked out of class wondering how she can better improve the schools education. Sure it was nice to learn about things here but she never expected the barrier to hold out. Eventually a time would come when everyone could explore the outside world.

"Perhaps I should recommend it to my sister or Jonathon." (Lisa)

"Recommend what? Oh hey, your a noble vampire right?" (?)

"Emma, you know she's a noble because I already told you." (?)

Lisa jumped to the side when some one interrupted her while she spoke to herself.

"Excuse me?" (Lisa)

"Sorry, my sister can be very... direct. I'm Bree and this annoying girl wearing middle school clothes is Emma." (Bree)

"Sup!" (Emma)

Lisa simply stared, they were just ordinary students, even though it was just her first day, they were still the first to make contact.

"How can I help you?" (Lisa)

"You may not know this but you saved our lives! our home! So when I heard you were attending, I ran over right after school." (Emma)

Emma and Bree were orphans. It seems the orphanage I saved was their home. I never really asked what happened to their parents but I could pretty much guess they were killed by some thugs. This city was very lawless when my father ruled. They were quite charismatic, Emma was loud and annoying while Bree was more calm and intelligent. None the less, they became my first friends at this school.

"It was nothing. I had to do something since it was in my domain. This was a problem that should have been fixed long ago." (Lisa)

"Still, we're grateful." (Bree)

"Yea! Thanks to you, I plan on joining the law enforcement as well! I hope we can work together!" (Emma)

"They would be lucky to have you but I'm afraid I don't work with them anymore. Sometimes, if it requires a job only I can do then sure but I was only helping to put out the fire and get them back on their feet. School is my number 1 focus now." (Lisa)

"I see. Still! I will make it my mission to play my part for this domain!" (Emma)

"Well, make sure your grades improve or else no one will want you!" (Bree)

Lisa laughed listening to their conversation. She thought about all the things she said about humans and about what Jorge said.

Humans aren't so bad after all. Sorry Jorge.

Later that day, Lisa was on a roof of a business building. She was meeting with some one from Julies domain to discuss the matter of weapons.

"I wonder..." (Lisa)

"Who it is? Were you expecting Lady Janet? Or my brother? Don't bother, they're still sleeping." (?)

"Charlotte." (Lisa)

Before Lisa, stood a girl with silver hair and red eyes. She wore tight clothing that gave definition to her cleavage, gloves as if she rode motorcycles but that wasn't the case at all.

" I figured you'd be up at the same time as Arthur." (Lisa)

"So did I... I guess it doesn't matter if your twins. You wake up when its time or you sleep on." (Charlotte)

Lisa stared at her figure, annoyed how she matured was looked like a woman where as Lisa remained short.

"Anyways... I looked into your request and we found the last load of weapons being passed around. Sorry, her highness dealt with the maker but did very little for the suppliers." (Charlotte)

"Its fine. Were they arrested?" (Lisa)

"No. I killed them. Can't allow insects to continue infesting our home right?" (Charlotte)

"Right..." (Lisa)

"Whelp, I have to bounce. Hmu if ever need help" (Charlotte)

Their conversation ended fast and Charlotte body vanish, as if she had teleported.

Charlotte and Arthur's distant relatives were said to be close friends to Julie's. They knew each other prior to being vampires but they chose to serve under Julie's family rather than becoming noble vampires them selves. Something about their human bloodline continued on when they became vampires. Their way with swords and weapons in general was out of this world. They had a sixth sense and to be honest... I don't know who would win if I ever fault them. There was something about their family blood that far exceeded that of a vampires. The way of this world was very mysterious when it came to that stuff.

"What! My father was over thrown? Impossible! How do you know this?" (Lisa)

"My friend heard from another , who heard from her dad who just happen to be on patrol near the royal palace. They were told to not respond if anything were to go down there." (Emma)

"I also heard there was a commotion at your prison too. How are you just hearing about this?" (Bree)

"I was studying for the exam. I was really worried about failing." (Lisa)

Lisa was in a state of shock when her friends were talking about the news that have been spreading across the city. Things like the blood king losing his throne and explosions at her prison. Her only option was to find her sister but when she arrived at the prison, Gabriel was there waiting. Lisa learned that Liz was gone, that she most likely escaped through the barrier and Jonathon who was climbing in rank was also on the run. There were many reason why David was alive; they wanted to research his blood, he may know a way to break the barrier or go past it since Liz was able to get away, and the most important was the fact that he was to powerful to kill. He surrendered willingly but that didn't mean he would accept being killed either.

After every thing we did to gain the peoples trust, I couldn't let these criminals run free. Gabriel theorized that the people working had lost their memories because Liz used our families ability to store it. Regardless, that information existed somewhere and we were going to find it. William wanted the information about them having abilities sealed and yet they were hardly making moves to capture them. He gave an order but no one really cared or perhaps they hoped to control them in their own way instead. I didn't care, I informed the officers within my domain but made sure they didn't engage. When I finally found a lead, I never expected them to have such bizarre abilities.

"I don't know if I should call this luck or not since it doesn't seem like anyone has any abilities. Even still, I'm glad I found you." ( Lisa)

Lisa, broke into an abandon building that was scheduled to be destroyed in a few days. She had law enforcement look into all building that were being used from within the Chronicler domain since she didn't want to cause trouble in some one else's territory. She was limited but there was still a chance some of the criminals were hiding in her part of the city since their number ranged in the 40's to 50's, there was no possible way they would all be traveling together.

"Now!" (?)

When she turned who the criminal yelled out to, Lisa saw a cabinet being thrown at her which was block with the palm of her hand. The person responsible picked up a metal pipe and using his magic, his entire body turned into metal. Lisa wasn't fazed but deep down, she was amazed. The now metal boy yelled at the others to run as he stayed back as bait, in the hopes that he could keep Lisa at bay.

"I'm curious... Is your entire body from inside out made of metal or just the outer part? I mean... If I punch you hard enough, with it make a dent? and will it remain when you revert back?" (Lisa)

"You're crazy..." (?)

"I'm just saying. It's sweet that you sacrificed yourself but you should give up. You clearly have immense strength and armor but so do I. And that metal body won't protect you. On top of that..." (Lisa)

One second she spoke and next thing he know, she was walking from behind him. He couldn't even rotate his head in time in order to see Lisa flick his back with just a finger as it went crashing into the wall.

"I'm also faster." (Lisa)

He couldn't do anything but struggle to get up as Lisa took her time walking towards him. She wasn't cocky but the way things were going, she figured it was all over until she blink and he was gone.

"It seems you weren't fast enough to perceive that huh?" (Nacho)

"Nacho, took you long enough." (?)

He's fast... I should have assumed there'd be two.

"Do it now Cloud! I got Chrome!" (Nacho)

Lisa wondered to whom he was yelling to since no one else was in the room but she could have never guessed there be someone just above them on another floor.

"You didn't have to tell her my nickname idiot! This is going to drain my energy, I just know it!!" (Cloud)

A girl with curly hair, yelled in frustration as she clapped her hands together. Her entire body exploded as a cloud of smoke came out from within her. It didn't move like your average cloud. It expanded with out losing its visibility and moved in all directions with no care to the wind blowing outside until the building was swallowed whole. When everything cleared, Lisa was all alone.

"What the hell was that?" (Lisa)

That was my first encounter with them. After awhile, I would catch normal criminals that escaped but had little to do with them. Just people who got lucky enough to be at the right place when things went down. Adrian would eventually wake up and start hunting them down in order to piss me off and when news of nobles searching for them spread, they eventually left my domain and snuck out and into the other domains.

"What? No way, I'm not interested." (Selena)

"Please. I need help hunting these guys down." (Lisa)

In a bar, Lisa was begging a half drunk Selena for help since she wanted to avoid talking to William and Adrian.

"Sorry kiddo but I'm done with all that. besides, I have a concert in a few days, can't waste this chance. Feel free to look in our domain" (Selena)

"But aren't you worried what they could do?" (Lisa)

" I faced my fair share of people like them. From what I heard, they're just kids, I doubt they even know how to fully use their powers. Let the lesser vampires deal with them." (Selena)

Lisa gave up on Selena and decided on looking for Julie. Unfortunately for her, she was still hospitalized and had yet to be released and who knew if she wanted to see another Chronicler.

"Criminals? no thanks. I can care less about insects like them." (Julie)

"But they're not just your average criminals. Some of them can actually use weird types of magic." (Lisa)

In a hospital room. Lisa was conversing with Julie. Her appearance was still normal so it didn't look like she was badly wounded but being hit with a weapon containing materials that could kill vampires was not something you would recommend. Next to her, was another vampire by the name of Kelly. She wasn't a noble but a lesser vampire who dyed her hair pink. Something that was quite popular among humans. The fight with Liz had left them both damaged but Kelly's wounds were visible all around her body and face.

"I hear you Lisa. Look, we finally cleaned up my side of the city. If any criminals were to start drama, we would know about it. I'll tell my law enforcement to keep an eye out but I don't really plan to get involved. Maybe when the twins finally wake up, I'll get them to do something." (Julie)

It was an obvious response, they knew they had to do something but all the nobles could care less. Julie saw it as being beneath her, Selena was to busy enjoying herself, Gabriel now had free reign to research what he needed, Janet was still asleep, and although William raised concerns for them, he was more fixated on continuing the plans that Jonathon had laid out. Although he had given up on how David and Liz were secretly able to leave the city, they were still able to find a loophole which was a magical portal that can cut right into their barrier. In the end, Lisa was all alone.

"Sorry about those wounds. If you'd like, I'll take my sister's punishment." (Lisa)

"Stop. That beef was between me and Liz... The last thing I need is Janet getting angry again. I was wrong to shut you out for being a Chronicler." (Julie)

"I see..." (Lisa)

"But if you insist on helping me... Spare some of your blood! Everyone else pretty much abandoned us and I'd prefer to drink another nobles blood so I can heal. Creepy little Adrian stopped by and just laughed... actually he was angry that she got away." (Julie)

"Yes of course! Sorry, I should have offered earlier. Kelly do you..." (Lisa)

"No. I don't want your families disgusting blood." (Kelly)

She didn't even make eye contact, Kelly laid with her back turned but her tone clearly showed that she was angry.

"Lesser vampire am I right? Watch your self Kelly. She a noble after all." (Julie)

"Its quite alright." (Lisa)

If I was still my old self, I would have bashed her teeth in for saying such words.

After that day, I continued on. Once Selena became queen, I asked if I could turn my friends into vampires. We didn't have our own faction so there was nothing to worry about, besides, I needed the extra help. Once I learned Jorge was alive, I think apart of me started to show a little sympathy for these guys. Liz was clearly doing something behind all our backs but that didn't change the fact that there were actual convicts that had escaped.

----------------------------------------------

"So I guess my question now is... How do I actually tell the bad guys apart from the people my sister took in." (Lisa)

"You don't. Things have gone to far now." If they don't surrender Then we have no choice but to kill them." (Allister)

"What?" (Lisa)

"Sorry it looked like you were thinking to yourself when I was trying to ask if you knew about their abilities?" (Allister)

"Only some. I met a girl who could physically create clouds I believe? A man who can absorb materials but I only saw him turn into metal. A speedster but apparently Raymond took him in. There also the leader and the werewolf?" (Lisa)

"That's right. If anyone encounters him, I'll deal with it. Listen up. You weren't there for the meeting but all humans with inner magics are fundamentally the same. There are psychics like me, although I wasn't born with it. There are animal shapeshifter, elemental user, people with physical prowess, and then there's just your unique abilities. For example, Jorge and that metal guy would be considered unique since I never met someone like them before." (Allister)

"When you say elemental users..." (Lisa)

"That cloud girl. She was probably able to turn her body into a gas like smoke. You see if some had the ability to use fire, they can't manifest it from thin air like your normal mages. So how would one make fire? Its an innate ability that changes their very body into fire, thus, creating fire." (Allister)

Lisa was amazed, she knew her uncle was a teacher but he truly was intelligent.

"Don't bother, I'm already a teacher somewhere else. I don't want to go through that hell again." (Allister)

"I didn't say anything!" (Lisa)

--------------------------------------------------------------

On the outskirts of each prison, people began to gather. A majority of them cam from the city while other were underground. Using old sewer manholes to get past security and the eyes of law enforcement.

"Alex. My bugs have met up with everyone. When ever your ready. We'll commence the operation." (Bug)

"Wait for Cloud. She'll be our cover." (Alex)

--------------------------------

"Alright Cloud, we were able to capture six mages. Will that be enough?" (?)

"Yes. I leave the rest to you Drain. I'll probably be to weak to move so make sure you don't leave me behind."

On the highest building of the city, two of New Beginning's members were gathered with 6 mages who they had captured. A boy by the name of Drain placed them all together and with one hand on them and the other on Cloud, he used his ability known as transfer to send all the magic towards her. When cloud clapped her hands, enough smoke was able to be released that would eventually come to fall on the whole city.

People Nearby as they stared at an endless flow of smoke rising into the air from on top of that very building. Jorge, Chris and everyone near the prison couldn't see it where it was coming but they witnessed that very smoke as it slowly came down on them, and with it, the screams and sounds of gun fire and explosions.

"Chris, where are you? It feels like a big cloud just ate me!" (Jorge)

"Stop freaking out you idiot. Clearly I'm in the same spot from just a second ago. It must be Cloud. I don't know how she did it, but she encased the city." (Chris)

"Yea, it seams the fighting as begun too. This cover won't last long since its based off of her magic." (Jorge)

'Yea, the moment he passes out, everything will be clear again. Come on, lets use this diversion to sneak in" (Chris)

"I'm worried things are going to get crazy." (Jorge)

SIDE STORY: A conversation between Liz and her father.

"Listen Jonathon. You've been doing good helping the people but what about this entire city?" (David)

"Not so fast your highness. I just got my neighborhoods support to band together. I can go about doing that for just anyone." (Jonathon)

"You're right. We need a way to build up your reputation. I could hold elections but even if I forced the vampires to agree they would take advantage of the candidates." (David)

"I'm sorry to question you reasons sir but why me?" (Jonathon)

"That's easy, its because.." (David)

"Dad." (Liz)

Liz walked into a room where David was currently holding a meeting with a younger man named Jonathon.

"Liz, why are you hear? You shouldn't barge in like that. Can't have people getting any wrong ideas." (David)

"Don't worry. It won't matter later down the road. They blame us both regardless. I'm the first born after all. Anyways, I was just on my way to take Jorge on his first mission but just before that, after he had finished talking to Lisa, I saw a vision about her." (Liz)

"And?" (David)

"She plans on seeing the outer barrier. If she does, she smell blood and go on a rampage. Al won't be able to stop her." (Liz)

"Lisa is strong. She won't kill him" (David)

Liz sighed at her careless father. He wasn't actively involved like a normal human parent but he still placed too much confidence in his kids.

"Except she will. One because I already saw it, and also because she see you in a terrible way. She practically worships you... but its terrible." (Liz)

David hesitated. Was it really that important? What difference would it have made if he got involved compared to Liz or even Jorge?

"A big difference." (Liz)

"I didn't say anything." (David)

"Listen dad, blood king, the god who doesn't care! If you aren't the one who stops her. She grow into a little villainous queen who eventually marries Adrian." (Liz)

The atmosphere grew cold, Jonathon heard the conversation but he couldn't comprehend what was happening right now.

"Where the hell is she. I'll put stop to it right now." (David)
