[15th June 1835, Luther University, Barline]

A man knocks to the Faculty door. “Who is it?” Anne asks. “It’s me Hotaru!” Hotaru calls back. “Coming!” Anne says in a hurry. In a hurry Anne leaps out from her seat and opens the faculty door.

“Hotaru I didn’t expect you here.” Anne says as she was somewhat shocked. “Doctor. I would like a word you because after your lecture the previous week.” Hotaru proposes to Anne. “Sure.” Anne agrees in intrigue.

“Come in come in.” As Anne invites Hotaru inside the Faculty room. “Would you like anything to drink?” Anne offers “No thanks.” Hotaru declines the offer. “What do you want to know about?” Anne asks as she sat herself. “I want to know about the history. I know this is a favor but please tell me.” Hotaru says as he pleads to Anne. “I will you about it but please do not leak the information.” Anne with agrees hesitancy.

It starts in the past; within the middle ages. Magic was a dominant force in politics and was a big factor in creation of the large and great empires of the past. The Empires of old used this great power to influence their fiefdoms and power. Until the Church intervened………….

“So Anne what you are saying that Magic existed before humanity did?” Hotaru asks in shock and awe to Anne. “It seems. The records and books of the past has described this in great detail.” Anne says in dismay.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

After the collapse of the First Empire-Most of the knowledge in magic was scattered in multiple kingdoms.

“What is the First Empire?” Hotaru perplexed asks. “It was a great Empire that stretched thru out the continent.” Anne replies with pleasure.

These spells were treasured by the kings, noblemen and scholars-The magic was the source of their power. This relics that made magic were in the hands of mages and witches. People who practiced magic. Then five hundred years ago-An event shocked the continent.

The Church was tolerant of magic and to an extent even encouraged it. But the power of Magic outpaced the power of the Church and risked the peace in the continent.

“So you’re saying that the Church banned Magic because it risked peace!?” Hotaru questions as his intrigue increased further. “Yes-It was a very much strange reason.” Anne retorts with agreement.

In the face of conflict-The Church banned Magic and declared it heresy against the Church. In the years following the declaration-Thousands of Magic practitioners were prosecuted and killed. Without a trace.

“Thank you for this Anne-I can’t thank you enough for this but I have to go.” Hotaru thanks Anne with large amounts of gratitude. “Do not thank me Hotaru-We don’t know much also.” Anne acknowledges and declines any gratitude. “Anne- Have a good day!” Hotaru says as he bid farewell.

As Hotaru leaves the room Campolini enters the Faculty room. “Did you and Hotaru do something?” Campolini asks with baffled looks. “I and he talked about some things.” Anne answers with glee in her face. “Oh I see then.” Campolini retorts relieved. “I’ll be a talking a smoke.” Campolini he calls out the Faculty.

“I should get another job.” Campolini says to himself.
