Chapter 4.3: Adder

Inside the void zone;

"Oh? Is that the doppelganger?" After a bit of a trouble, i was able to come here, the world versailles. Siince people that prays have declined, and most of the prayers believed Freya, the chain is wakened, and i was able to get out of the void zone that way if i try a bit. Thought it will only be some time before she realized i got out, and lock me with those chain again.

I was eager to see that girl, but she betrayed my expectation. Because she and got out almost right after she appeared. But before i was able to sulk, the guy that gotten the curse appeared.

He looks like she didn't know what to do, so i helped him. I turned into an old woman, collided into her 'accidentally'.

"Ouch, i'm sorry ma'am, are you okay?" He asked me.

"It's okay dear... this old lady is okay...." I answered quietly.

He then gives out his hand.

'Hm? He will help me? He's so kind, but seems very gullible at the same time, i guess...'

I accepted his hands.

"I-I see, i'm so sorry for bumping into you..."

He was about to go and walk around the streets again, but before he did, i said this to him;

"Dear, go to the church, the answer you want is in there...."

And disappear just like that.

'Well, i guess the rest is up to his luck.'

"Loki....." Said someone behind me with a pissed of face.

*Gulp* "F-Freya.....?" I said, a bit unsure.

"Did you not learnt enough about the fact that we can't interfere directly to the world~~?"

She said, with a verrry~~ cold tone.

'Guess i'm dead...' i thinked to myself.

*After being beaten that can only be said as an verbal abuse, that so bad that the author decide to censor it.*

"Well, i guess that was enough for the current time." She said to me.

"Damn... If you're gonna' abuse me that much, why don't we just do an S&M... Though i'm not an M, i'll still enjoy it if it's you..." I said to myself.

After i said that, she stared at me. Not as an evil, neither as an god. More like something around a cockroach....

*After some more abuse that needed to be censored*

"Well, i'm very busy, so enough is enough."

She said, controlled the chain to lock me hard, and teleported somewhere else.

Right after that, there was suddenly something that teleported here.

'Is it Freya again!?'

I thought to myself. But to my relief and panic, it was the cursed guy.

'Damn, why must he come now!'

Though i was literally crushed because of Freya, i hurriedly used a fraction of my saved power, and healed myself back like nothing have ever happened.

"huh?" He said, not seemingbto understand the situation.

"Oh? You finally came, huh? The soul who got that curse, right? And now i've seen it again, it's seems to be alike with the soul of that doppelganger...."

I said coolly even though i was just beaten up like a punchbag. I mean, seriously! Freya ripped my hand and leg, making me look like a punchbag before i healed myself!

"who are you?" He asked me.

"Me? I'm the one and only Loki, the god of trickster." I answered his question.

"Loki?" He said that and started thinking something.

"Yes. well, anyway, here is the thing you wanted." I given her a task that i prepared in advance prior to become an old lady to met him.

After that, he seemed to read something when looking at the air.

I have known that this thing is normally called quest by them, and they receive some information from there.

But it's still funny for me, as they look's like so serious when they are just seen looking at the air from my perspective.

"Yes!" He said cheerfully.

But right after that, he said something else;

"Your secret dungeon? How can i find that!?"

And started to panic.

'So, they can tell that much from the info, huh?'

"Don't worry about that." I summoned a pendant in front of him.

"That pendant can make a portal to my secret dungeon." I explained it use.

"I see...." He said, starting to calm down

'I wonder if he can clear it?

He look's like a straight-forward type, so he probably going to go for the most obvious way, which is my trap.' I thought to myself

"Well, now that you got the quest, why don't we talk for a bit?" I asked him, as there is something i want to know.

"Err... yeah?" He answered hesitantly.

"Now, the first thing i want to talk about; do you know a boy named Ken?" I asked her.

From the first time seeing his (her) soul, i thought it was strange, since it looked almost a perfect copy with that doppelganger soul's... only much more pure. Their soul look's almost the same, but their color is very different. This guy have an almost pure white-colored soul's, and the doppelganger have an empty darkness-colored soul's.

"Umm... No?" He said while trying making a strange puzzled face.

'Pfffttt!! Even a blind man can tell that he is lying like that!"

After that, i was barely able to hold back my laughter.

"Hey, is that guy your friend?" I asked him.

"I already said no, didnt i?" I acted as normally as possible.

'So, it's not his friend...

Their age is different, their soul's wave seem to have an effect on each other, meaning they were close to each others.

"I see.... So, is that guy your family?" He asked me again.

"N-no?" He said, pretending again.

'So it is.....

Parent is impossible, since their age is around the same.

Then i guess the only possibility is that, huh?'

"Then, is he your brother?" I asked, trying to confirm my deduction.

"W-well, didn't i say no?" He said, still trying to pretend.

'Oh, it's his brother huh?

Then i maybe able to turn this into my amusement.' I thinked to myself.

"Okay, i was way too stubborn right there, why don't we change the topic then?" I asked him.

"Y-yeah, let's just do that." He answered nervously.

"Well then, let's me change the topic with this question; don't you think the more human is close with each others, the more they hate each other?"

"Eh?" I can only say that to his word....

"Well, the more closer you are, the more you fight, right? I mean, why would you fight against stranger? Like, if your little brother always play with a toy and never study, and you accidentally meet a guy at the same age is crushing his own house, you will choose to scold your little brother than the stranger right?" He explained to me.

"Err... well, yeah?" I answered.

"And that's why close people hate each other, especially if they are a boy, since they have high ego and is arrogant. And even more arrogant if the boy is young."

After i said that, he looked very scared.

He was about to say something, but i already predicted that, and make a move before he does.

"Well, i'm tired, let's talk again another time"

And so, i kicked him out.

'I wonder if that'll have enough influence?

Well i'm just going to sleep.'

***After some hour of sleep***

I feel a warping magic, and waked up.

'Hm? What's this, did someone came again?

It's really a pain to become a god, huh?' I thinked to myself,, while readying my looks.

I looked at the person coming from the portal.

'Huh!? It's the Doppelganger from before!?'

I looked at her.

"Oh? It's pretty rare for me to get a guest here?" I said, pretending i didn't realize her, and covering my panicked mind.

"Well, i'm sure it is, since you ARE locked in a void zone." She said with a sarcastic tone.

"What business do you have with me, even going to this kind of place?

And i also wondered how did you able to decipher my code, making rune for warping to this place.

You are an interesting one, young boy, or should i say young girl?" I said pretendingly, with a very dense and rough voice.

"I'll cut to the chase already, i want you to give me 'that' class."

She said, not beating around the bush, while having a look of being pissed.

"Oh? I wonder where did you heard 'that'? I said, truly interested in it.

"It doesn't matter right? It's not like you will work overtime to search about it, right?

That is, if you even work." He made a smirk on his face.

"HAHAHAHA!!! Well, that is true!" I laughed hardly.

'This is pretty rare, i wonder when was it the last time i laughed because of a mortal?

I guess it's because she's a doppelganger, making me relax my guard at her.' I thought to myself.

"Whatever, just give me the class already."

He said, looking a bit impatient.

"Since you are a doppelganger, just do what you want. here, this is the trial." I gave him a quest, not the real one, though....

'If he want to survive as a doppelganger, he need to at least be suspicious here.'

"No." He answered shortly, and much faster than the previous guy.

"Ho? Was it not you who said you wanted the class? Why are you rejecting it?" He asked me curiously, though not very shocked.

"Meh! For god's sake, you're a goddamned trickster god! Why the heck should i believe you!" He answered my question, extravagantly.

'Oh? He decided in a flash!?'

"HAHAHA!!! a smart one, i see." I once again laughed my heart out.

"Not really, you was expecting it, right?" He answered me.

"Well, i guess that's true! Anyway, here is the true trial."

"I accept." He accepted the quest properly this time.

'Oh yeah! I forgot about it, but let's confirm it with her;

"By the way, was there a girl that asked you if you like or hate her?" I asked me.

"Hmm? How the heck did you know?" He asked curiously, while also panicking a little bit.

'Pffftt!! Guess he's really didn't expect that!'

"HAHAHA!!! Seems like my eyes was not wrong!" I laughed again.

"Mm?" He can only say that, looking at me like he don't get what am i talking about.

"Nothing. Now, please out, i'm kind of exhausted."

I said that, and kicked her out.

'A forbidden love between siblings huh?

I guess i found some interesting trove.

But the question is;

What does that trove hold?'

I thought to myself, and a smile crawled up into my face.
