A Life Debt Repaid By Cheng Xiaocheng Chapter 399

CHAPTER 399

Noel was attending the charity ball too, but as board chairwoman of Sachs

Enterprises.

Sachs Enterprises would never make the list of the Stuarts’ grandest annual charity

ball, and it was Jessica who personally extended an invitation to Noel. Jessica said

that since they were partners, she should give Noel more opportunities if it was within

her abilities.

Noel was beside herself with joy, and went out of her way to brag in front of her family.

After all, she was no longer staying at the family’s mansion, having bought herself

another that was much grander than theirs. Content © copyrighted by .

Still, Sue met her in private. She appeared to be happy for Noel, saying that she and

Noel could finally hold their own in the Sachs family. She also added that Plum had

been kept miserably in house arrest at the mansion by Simon himself.

Despite all her fawning, it was clear Sue wanted to win Noel over and take a cut of the

Sachs’s family estate. However, Noel was no pushover. She grew up watching Sue,

and knew very well what Sue was scheming-once Sue earned Noel’s favor, she would

slowly siphon off the shares on Sachs Enterprises that Noel owned until everything

was returned to Sonny Sachs.

Noel naturally didn’t humor Sue, and had the latter thrown out even as she promptly

dropped all disguises, screaming and cursing Noel.

No one would take even a single percentage of her shares!

Naturally, Noel had worked hard on her dress and makeup as she strutted along the

red carpet of the Stuarts’ charity ball, intent on stealing the spotlight and flaunting

herself in that prestigious event.

What she didn’t expect, however, was that none of the journalists were calling out to

her despite her deliberately slow pace-or looking at her, for that matter. She definitely

made headlines and caused an uproar in business when she took control over Sachs

Enterprises, but since then, she hadn’t received not even one interview.

Though she had already thought about what to say when she made the public

appearance she looked forward to, no one even looked her way.

She walked very slowly, even posing a little to draw attention-even so, everyone was

summarily refusing to interview her.

Just as she wondered if Rocktown’s journalists were harder to please, the journalists

flocking at the other end were suddenly bursting with excitement.

Noel turned to find Patrick and Cordy alighting from a black Rolls Royce, instantly

becoming the focus of the red carpet as everyone turned towards them. In fact, the

journalists were all so eager that Noel thought she was imagining it.

It frustrated Noel considerably, but she assured herself that the journalists were just

being enthusiastic about Patrick’s arrival.

After all, the Stuarts’ statuses were simply different-and since they were the hosts,

Noel owed them deference.

And yet, that was when she heard countless journalists bombarding Cordy Sachs with

so many questions, none of which had anything to do with the Stuarts.

What gave Cordy the right to flaunt in front of Noel?! Cordy was basically trampling all

over Noel, just from the difference in treatment that the journalists were giving them!

But what was even less acceptable? Cordy hooking up with Patrick!

She had changed her sights to a different man, just because John was with Jessica

now!

What gave COrdy the right to change men so easily?!

First, it was Kyle Jessop.

Then, John Levine.

And now, Patrick Stuart!

Each time Cordy switched, the new partner would be richer and more influential than

the one before!

Noel suppressed her rage, but with no one giving a damn about her, she had to leave

the hall gloomily.

Meanwhile, Patrick caught Cordy firmly in his hands when she almost tripped, and the

journalists captured the moment of their exceedingly intimate moment.

That is, until one of the journalists to the back exclaimed, “It’s John Levine and

Jessica Stuart!”

They were done interviewing Patrick and Cordy, anyway.
