#4 Bunkered under a tree

On his third step toward the huge tree, he heard a roar,

“ROOOAAA!!!!”

But on closer inspection. The sound was a shriek, it came first sounded like a man then intertwined with a woman. The result became alarming and dangerous.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!”

His mind wants to turn his head to see the source of the commotion, but the man’s body won over the urge and immediately run. A chill went down his spine when the shriek got closer, he will never know the appearance of the monster and sped up towards his location. Then the cacophony of shouts and shrieks started to form and congregate all around the forest.

Once again, he’s slow compared to the monster and was smashed down to the ground. The monster raised its head and open its mouth to rip and tear.

*BANG*

A gunshot was heard, and the monster dropped dead.

What’s that?

The man thought and was surprised that he can move again without the monster’s weight. He glanced at his back and saw a tar monster whose head had a hole, face flat on the ground, then the man immediately dashes towards the tree.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

When he has gotten closer to the tree, a blur started to form in his vision and it solidly became a rackety wooden fence. He saw a dark silhouette moving near the fences.

“Oy! You there! Come here! The monsters are coming!”

It called to him and made a hand motion to go towards the shadowy figure. A dark blur pounced at the man’s side and a gunshot was heard that made the monster shriek in pain.

“COME ON! RUN FASTER!”

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

Gunshots were continuously firing at the monsters. The man tried to even run faster which hastily made his muscles strain to the extreme.

*clink* *clink*

“Damn it! Out of ammo.”

The shadowy figure muttered and threw an object behind the man’s back and ran toward his direction, passing through and saying quickly.

“Go to the door and get anything useful!”

The masked man understood and continued to run since the situation got critical. He heard painful shrieks from behind when he got near the door. He didn’t look back and instead focused on the door in front of him. It was an old dilapidated door without a handle which wasn’t closed properly. He pushed and went inside.

The interior of the tree was huge and the man marveled at the sight for a moment. He immediately whips his head and looked around and found stashes of weapons that are piled into a small mound and crates filled with them on the side.

He immediately found something that looks familiar to him. The man went closer to one of the crates. It was an item that resembled a long-barreled firearm. Ah, this one, an image formed from his memories.

“Ah…. A shotgun.”
