A Journey Down Under
#1 Nowhere (Part 1)

#1 Nowhere (Part 1)

To the world beyond and under. A splendid end to the fortunate and unfortunate. Welcome to one and no one. A land of darkness where the inhabitants have the privilege to see and live. A different step, realm, gate, or whatever you called for this is another form for an unfortunate passage of death, The Abyss.

"Ugh... My head..."

A man is laying down on the floor. It was dry or moist or both, the ground he appeared on is somewhat of a semi-fusion that almost succeeded, but weirdly not. He lifted himself with his arms to see what was in front of him.

He was in a barren field, with no grass, and sparse withered trees standing around him, only pure darkness. However, those who are born within the Abyss are blessed with the sight to see within the pitch-black void that surrounds them.

"I was laying in a.... what?"

He looked at the ground which is colored black, gray, purple, or who knows what it is.

The man put his hand on his forehead to think. When he touched it, he felt something smooth and hard. He then put his hands and rubbed them all around his face.

"My face... there's something covering my face."

He tried to take it off by grabbing on the sides to pull. He failed, he tried again, again, and again with his full might. The result was the same.

"Haaaarrrrgh.... Haa.. haa.. I should stop this... Now where the heck Am I?"

He focuses his attention on the surroundings instead of pondering about the mask on his face, it was a futile endeavor. The land is barren with sparse withered trees, and the area is dark as the sky too. Fortunately, the man's vision is fine, his sight is clear just like how he saw it in the day.

When the man tried to think about a piece of vital information that relate to his personal mission and identity. A painful headache suddenly appeared, and the man just gritted his teeth while holding his head, it was painful like there is something breaking inside his skull. Fortunately, it wasn’t literal, just painful.

“Ugh… I can’t remember, what am I missing? It was supposed to be something important.”

He thinks again about his own personal information, to no avail, he got nothing out of it. This case is mysterious and also annoying,

"The problem now is my memories. It's all jumbled and.... missing. I can't think of a possible answer."

The man thinks of any important parts about himself, but he doesn't have any memories about his life, except for miscellaneous knowledge. For example, the identification of terrain, flora, movement, and weaponry.

He decided to trudge along the dead land, careful to not trip while taking a step. He continued to look forward because wherever he looks, there are just only sparse withered trees and grass, and darkness all around. It went on for a long time, fatiguing pile-up, and yet he doesn't know the exact time only just guessing it.

Finally, he found a fence and a house that sprouts a huge tree upward from within at the horizon of his vision.
