Hello! Just a small announcement to make here!
This is being slowly rebooted after a few rewrite-restarts. Rather than just endlessly edit, I'm going to go with my original plan and actually just publish as I go with the latest edit. No promises on a release schedule at all. It's something I'll be writing on for fun between other things I write on for fun as well.
I do hope you enjoy, comment, and help me to improve!
"Half-Baked Adventure"
Follows a group of 6, though the primary lead character is a lazy engineer who leverages their skills on a coding-like magic system. This description will update in the future as the story fleshes itself out for me.
An engineer, lazy but effective, self-deprecating and struggling with depression, hangs onto happiness due to his three close friends, his chosen family. When they find themselves in a harsh and violent new world, their bodies changed in dramatic ways and their relationships stressed, he faces a personal dilemma. Can he rise above his internal strife and become a hardworking, engaged friend? Also, why is it so fun to have fluffy ears and be able to shift genders?
A businessman, generous to those close to him and yet ruthless to all others, leads his friends on an adventure of survival and personal growth. Will he build another financial empire to conquer or will he build a kingdom of prosperity and love?
A people person, ladies man, scarred by memories of abuse by women has become in turn become an abuser of them, leaving a trail of hurt feelings and misplaced guilt with each new 'girlfriend'. When the tables are flipped on him, will he grow past his scars and learn the truth about his feelings, or will he just be broken even further?

A lawyer, secretly in love with her friend but unable to accept the way he treats women, finds herself in the position of power in their unhealthy relationship. Will she grow out of her shell and stand up to their demons together or become one herself?
A godling, irresponsible and treating people like toys, just wants some pastries in her world, because the food there is boooring. When she's forced to live with those people, struggle as one of them, will she learn to appreciate their tiny insignificant lives or will she perish?
An elf, rejected for her curiosity from her rigid and hierarchical culture, forced into slavery to guard their borders, finds herself fundamentally changed and bound to a group of unusual intruders. Will this prove to be another form of bondage or will she feel free, at last?
Some basic things:
- There are general fantasy species, yes, but they will not usually conform to the general interpretations of those species (ie, Elves are not graceful nature loving archers)
- Gender bending and gender fluidity will be a thing
- Sexual identity/preference will be a recurring issue for the characters
- Magic works via a system that is like logical circuits/code, built from scratch or from 'code libraries'
- Essence/Mana are cultivated, but this isn't going to go all Xianxia
- Expect some tropes. There are tropes, even if they aren't rigid or hyper-specific.
- GIVE ME ALL YOUR (positively intentioned) FEEDBACKS NOMNOMNOM. Don't think "If I can't say anything nice, I shouldn't say anything at all", instead; "If you can't mean it kindly, then take a breather and figure out how to do so." I've got a thick skin in terms of criticism and ultimately I want to improve.
No promises about release schedules. I am writing across 3-5 different stories at any given time and the others I am holding to publish until I've pre-written at least a complete book (~55k words) ahead on all of them, with likely at least 1 major edit.
I'll drip feed chapters as I write them, may be weeks or even months apart, may come in droves.
