Hisoka was no hero. He didn't have some amazing battlefield changing magical ability, wasn't a master with melee weapons, and was merely an adventurer. He was just a man with guns, and even in his state of enhanced bloodlust, he could tell that much. He had his rifle with his remaining 10 mags and the 6 mags he took from Misumi's vest. He had quite a stockpile of magazines for the MK23 as he was the only one in the party to use one, along with his combat knife.
While he acknowledged these facts, there was no way in hell hed let this end without even trying to finish the job. Fucking with him was one thing, but to harm his partner, he didn't intend to let anything in that building live.
He was able to proceed smoothly to the building in question. A few pockets of resistance tried to stop him, only to be blown to pieces with cold fury. Hisoka was beyond rationale as he worked his weapons to the bone, accepting the rifle in his hands as an extension of his soul. The process of aiming shooting and reloading becoming as simple to him as breathing. Not one of the things in his path made it within striking distance before being struck down as simply as a hammer to metal on an anvil.
Past the gore painted streets in front of the imposing building stood Hisoka dyed red with his enemies' blood. In front of the large door, a cross lay on the ground, thrown from its apex to rest carelessly. He looked at the church damning the occupants to hell. Nothing lay beyond those doors other than one last battle for this fallen town.
He felt his skill take over soothing his rage and pushing it to a corner in the back of his heart. His mind became clear and his decisions concise. He grabbed the door handle and pushed it inwards. They had left it unlocked hoping for an easy ambush, but in his enhanced state Hisoka expected as much and stepped back hastily from the now opened door. Inside were at least 30 creatures that tried to pounce at the open door, failing to notice their prey had backed away.
With the calming feel of the weapon in his hand, Hisoka fired short killing bursts into the creatures. The creatures for their part rushed out seeing their plan foiled, hoping to force him into close combat. This didn't work however as Hisoka slowly back stepped whilst firing into the creatures. With his enhanced state of fighting, putting them down became child's play as his mind calculated the perfect shots, and his body put it into action. As misshapen and different as each one was, each had a torso that contained something vital. In firing shots in the lower, middle, and upper portions he ensured whatever it was that kept them walking was pierced.
With the press of a button, the magazine was released and was guided by a steady hand out of the mag well to be discarded into the drop bag. That same steady hand quickly found itself grasping another 20 round plastic magazine locking it into place, before pulling back the charging handle to a satisfying clunk. Only once did a couple of creatures manage to reach him, only to be batted away by the rifle and shot while they were down. In this mode of combat, there wasn't any chance for failure to occur against such simple stumbling creatures.
As the creatures stopped flowing from the door, he shoved the door completely open revealing the gruesome interior. Bits and pieces of humans were neatly arranged in piles by size and part. Had Hisoka not had his emotions repressed he likely would've gagged. At the far end of the building stood a makeshift altar type device, and behind it, a figure disguised in black clothing. The figure looked up at Hisoka, revealing it's face hidden within the cloak. Its face was a patchwork of human tissue sewn together almost a mask made from flesh rather than a face. It grinned as it gave off a dark aura.
Pieces from the piles came together mid-air entangling themselves together forming a large figure covered in spiked bone protrusions. Its flesh was thick and layered with bone-forming an exoskeleton as well for additional armor. The black-clad figure continued to apply other bits and bobs in an attempt to strengthen the creature, but Hisoka had no plans to give him the chance.
With depression, a projectile was sent through the barrel by burning the propellant headed straight towards the thing's center mass. Human bone is tough material. With the way it was arranged forming the armor of the creature, it would be hard to get through with edged weapons; a bow or crossbow having 0 chance to breakthrough. Going by this world's logic, a mage or team of mages would have to use their magic to destroy the thing with powerful incantations. The device Hisoka held, the MCX Spear, didn't follow this world's logic. The 6.8x53mm projectiles flew from the barrel at 3000 fps punched through and shattered the bone easily.

The creature roared as the bone fragments along with the projectiles embedded in its soft meat. Hisoka performed a quick reload as it began charging before stopping it in its tracks via the impact of more bullets. It was no surprise that 40 bullets later the thing was sprawled on the floor bleeding.
The cloaked creature began some incantation in an odd language, which Hisoka stopped with a .45 to the thing's chest. Interestingly, unlike the undead creatures that had blood spatter but no pulse to cause heavy bleeding, there was a nasty flow of crimson red blood that flowed from the new hole in its upper chest. It gasped and fell onto its knees clutching the wound, seemingly no used to pain.
Hisoka shot it once more in the upper chest and was greeted with arterial spray from the well-placed bullet the seemingly still living rather than undead being would certainly die from blood loss due to the profuse bleeding, but Hisoka added salt to the wound. With his skill wearing off, and by extension the suppression of his anger, he drew his blade and plunged it in between two rips in the creature's chest. It screamed painfully as it attempts to thrash around weakened greatly. Hisoka turned the thing's grotesque face to look him in the eyes and stared into it's pained expressed as he slowly turned the blade, grinding it against its ribs. This thing had zero chance of survival, so Hisoka withdrew his blade and wiped the blood on its cloak. Looking down on the thing that was growing extremely pale, Hisoka brought his boot down hard on the things head with a sickening crunch.
He exited the building at a quick pace 8 and a half mags lighter than he entered. As the drop pouch rattled with empty mags, he added to the pile by replacing his half spent magazine with a fresh one. Hisoka frowned as there were no more mags to grab from on his carrier. Reaching into his bag of holding he replaced the magazine with a fresh one and noted his mag situation.
He moved through the town at a brisk rate, working his way back to the intersection Misumi had been wounded at. He looked around trying to find where Aki had taken Misumi before he saw her draw back the curtains of a second-story window and wave hastily for him. Hisoka didn't waste a second entering the house and moving up the stairs.
"Did you find it?" Aki asked anxiously seeing Hisoka's blood-covered figure.
"Yes I did, more importantly, how is she holding up?" Hisoka asked in a worried tone.
"She seemed to be in a weakened state, I've been keeping her in a stable resting state with my magic, but there is a limit to what I can do for her. Thanks to what I've been able to do and the potion you applied, she's been able to hold on and clos4e or at least temporarily mend all of her injuries. She still needs to see someone with higher ability than mine, or at least receive a high tier potion," Aki stated confident in her diagnosis.
Hisoka felt extremely relieved hearing this. It showed on his face as his expression softened. He took all the empties from his drop pouch and put them in his bag of holding. He had managed to run through 8 mags including the one loaded when he started, as well as depleting another. He took his remaining fresh mag mixing it with Misumi's as he put them in place on his rig ready for if the need arose.
"Thank you, I will repay you for this later," Hisoka stated as he hoisted Misumi over his shoulder in a fireman carry.
"We need to get back to the car and move back to town if possible. I don't remember them having a dedicated healer so we will most likely have to move on to another, but if nothing else we need to get moving. Can you cover me while I carry her?"
Aki nodded confidently as she checked the chamber of her rifle.
"I've got 6 mags left for the rifle and all my pistol ammo," she reported.
Hisoka nodded and as he stepped out of the building carrying Misumi. The day was fading as crimson reds and yellows adorned the sky while the sun went into its slumber. The sun was setting in the west, contrary to what happened on earth, and it's moon that appeared larger due to closeness was peeking above the horizon in the east.
Hisoka silently made his way back to the Polaris followed by Aki. As the sun finally escaped it's chained and rose above the horizon, Hisoka gently set Misumi in the back seat. He took his seat at the wheel, with Aki taking up residence next to him. He felt tired from the day's fight, the action of the day taking a larger emotional toll than a usual fight. He steeled his will as the headlights illuminated the path in front of them, the engine purring as the tires crunched down the dirt road.
