As Silver Wolf put her tiny hand on the scanner, the door to the Stellaron Hunters' base opened immediately.
"Kafka and Blade are on a mission, they'll be back tomorrow I think. You should get some rest so we can start that serious gaming session you promised me," Wolf said as she went inside and turned on the light.
I looked at her, smiling in the cockpit.
"What's wrong? Have you forgotten where your room is?" she asked looking back at me.
"It's nothing!" I said taking a step into the base, "I'm home!"
"Yeah yeah, welcome home," Wolf greeted me with an annoyed look, "the stuff from your trip is in your room, by the way. Along with the other things you asked me for."
"Wolfie!"
Silver Wolf put her hands out in front of her with a frightened expression:
"Please, no more hugs! I have had enough of this sappy stuff! You almost made us crash into an asteroid when you did it in the airship! Besides, if you do it while inside SAM, you will kill me for real!"
"Alright, alright... but I've gotten very good at controlling my strength, you know?" I chuckled, "But Wolfie... can I hug you once in a while?" I then added.
"...seeing a freaking giant robot acting so cute and asking for hugs is certainly something..." Silver Wolf said, shaking her head, but then she huffed, "Why do you want to hug me anyway? It feels so uncomfortable... but ok, just don't tell Kafka."
She paused for a second before muttering:
"Who am I kidding? She's going to find out anyway..."
Still shaking her head, Silver Wolf walked through the kitchen door with a defeated look on her face. Giggling, I headed for the stairs. The steps creaked under SAM's weight.

"It seems like an eternity went by," I thought as I reached the door to my room.
My living space had always been so anonymous. A bed, a desk, a wardrobe full of identical black suits and a small library. The only thing that might have helped someone figure out what type of person lived there was a small make-up case on the bedside table.
But that was about to change.
There were now so many colourful things on my bed. A small army of plushies, led by a giant raccoon. A signed picture of Robin and other posters from the various Penaconian flicks. Small gadgets and souvenirs like Clockies and Hanu's figurines. A huge book with recipes for Penacony's delicacies. On the side was a cute dress with a little dark brown coat and orange ribbon.
Everything was here, proof that for a short time I had been part of a wonderful dream.
But that wasn't all. On the desk were the most important prizes I had collected on my journey: a lipstick with a red ribbon and a clover-shaped cap, a silver bracelet with a shooting star pendant and...
Thank you, Wolfie. I really owe you a lot.
I deactivated my armor. My condition showed up immediately, but I did my best to endure it. Slowly I put the bracelet on my wrist, smiling as I gazed at the shooting star.
I wonder if her twin has already arrived on the Xianzhou Luofu.
Then I took the first photo from the stack that Wolfie had printed for me. Two girls were smiling, with a beautiful sky behind them. I grabbed the roll of tape on the side and, with unsteady steps, approached the wall next to the bed.
It was bare. But that just meant there was a lot of space to fill. But I wasn't going to stop here, before my end came I would create so many colourful memories that they would fill all the walls of this room.
I admired the photo on the wall with a big smile.
I should print a larger version and frame it...
I was thinking about it when I heard those unmistakable soft footsteps outside my room.
"Came to gloat?" I asked, my smile widening, "You won this time, but I'm not giving up. I don't know if I'll ever be able to, but I'm sure she will. She'll show you that even your script can be rewritten."
A boyish chuckle answered my words:
"If that moment really comes, I'll happily admit defeat."
I could hear the mockery in his voice, but I didn't care.
"Stelle... if you've managed to change someone like me... I'm sure that one day you'll defeat even Finality itself."
