Chapter 3

"So, why didn't you tell me you're biologically male?!?" The hero shouted as he banged his hand on the table.

"Mother say so." I replied indifferently.

Ah, pardon me if my way of speaking is not up to standards, mother only taught us the basics of some languages, I don't know how to speak like how I think.

After the hero got over his panic attack, he woke me up and pulled me down onto a chair, sitting in another himself.

"Young child, tell me how does dragons know what gender they belong to?"

"Bone structure."

"That's not it!" He shouted again, but he then continued after a while "I'll teach you, the skill of finding what gender you are."

"I don't think genders matter."

"IT DOES!! Haa.....anyways, men they have a extra leg, hand if you wish to call it so, a useful tool in night battles."

Oh? Battles?

"Ah! Then teach me please!"

For the next few hours, I learnt more than what I expected to.

-------------------------

As sunlight entered the room through the window, a gentle tap on the door was heard, which of course, wasn't able to awake me or the hero, who had stayed up all night teaching me the wonders of the world.

"Kok kok."

The sound was heard again, this time louder.

"KOK KOK KOK."

"I'm coming, I'm coming." Muttered the half awake hero as he sat up, rubbing the last signs of drowsiness from his face.

"Kok kok."

"Oh my god, stop. I'm coming you fucking impatient shit."

Turning around and ignoring the background noises, I attempted to make myself comfortable on the single blanket and pillow Onii-Chan had gave me, refusing me access onto his bed.

"Wake up, trap." Said a the hero as he gave me a little nudge with his foot.

"Nnn~"

"Jesus stop that, wake up lil shit." He said again, kicking harder.

"Aaahh~" I yawned as I stretched "What is it?"

"The royal king summons."

"Ah~ it's not my problem.....I'll stay here and sleep on your bed~" I mumbled as I hugged my fluffy tail.

"Brat, I expected you to be more dragony like."

"What's dragony."

"Ya know, proud, fierce etcetera."

"I'm up, I'm up~" I quickly sat up.

Speedily, I followed Onii-chan to the washroom and washed my face, following his motions and headed to the court room.

"Ah, hero I heard about the events yesterday night, are you alright now?" Asked the king.

I was currently sitting on my butt as a dragon behind Onii-chan, as how the guards ordered me to. Glancing sneakily to my brother, who was doing the exact thing I was doing.

He seemed to be okay.

"I'm feeling fine, thank you for your concern."

"That's great, now.... Hero Keith, Hero Silas, I presume you are satisfied with the dragons? Truly it is out good luck to have captured 2 dragons right before the war."

Ah? Onii-chan has two names? Silas and Onii-chan? How lucky.

"Indeed." Replied the both Heroes at once.

Now that I take a second look at the king, he looks rather plump and cruel, his squinty beady eyes darting around the room, his fingers fiddling, tracing the gems on his throne.

"Then, I shall not hold the both of you back, since you two must be interested in training your dragons?"

"Yes, then we shall take our leave, your majesty." Said the other hero.

Turning around, Onii-chan tapped me lightly on my scaly head, signaling me to follow him.

"So, how's your dragon form in terms of fighting?" Onii-chan asked as he walked through the long hallway, the soles of his shoes clicking against the marble ground.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Ah, how should I reply to him? Does he know I cannot speak human words in this form? Umm....

After a while of silence, he turned around and looked at me puzzled, not knowing why I did not reply.

"Graww." I called out, hoping he'll realize my predicament.

Gradually the puzzled look on him disappeared and he turned around "Ah, okay."

Ah~ I wonder why but, hasn't the atmosphere for the hero changed?

As I wondered why, I followed onii-chan to a weird room, it has human like figures made out of a cloth, which hung from the cellings, other weird stuff also filled this room.

Looking carefully, I realized that these metal walls seemed to have been scratched multiple times over, slicing deep into the walls. There was also a pile of teared clothed human figures, the cuts in them all precise and deadly. This room seems as though rummaged by a terrifyingly intelligent beast.

"As much as I want to take to the skies carried on those strong looking wings you have there, I'm not doing anything risky until I receive a saddle, so for now, lets teach you some things you for a bit, because a weak dragon is a useless dragon that can't assist me in my picking up to girls."

The serious atmosphere instantly collapsed near the ending didn't it. Please wipe that smile off your face Onii-chan, you're going down the road of a despicable thief.

Although, what does picking up girls mean? Lifting them? Weights? Strength training? Humans are weird.

"With your other form's appearance, I will never recommend you to work on strength, magic perhaps? Change your form for a bit."

Nodding my head, I did as I was told and stood on the floor without a single piece of cloth.

"..."

"We need to get you something similar to the collar in TnY."

TnY? What's that?

Turning his head away, he took off his shirt and threw it over "At least cover yourself with this."

"Ah, thank you."

"Okay, how much do you know about magic?"

"Nothing. Mother never teach, says to come to learn."

"That is absolutely wonderful," he sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he continued "I'll give you a rundown of the basics and we'll head outside to impress some ladies."

"So, following the book of overused plots, magic is triggered by mana. Mana exists in every living being, and rarely in inanimate objects, the biggest mana core is the core of the earth." After a few moments, he continued "To fill your mana core, you take it from the world and when you use it, it returns to the world. I'd love to speak scientifically, but there isn't a proven theory, which is why these people are following this thinking."

"Most life forms have a special affinity to a small number of attributes, be it necromancy, life, mental or even fire, well, the list goes on and on but I don't think we should really waste that much time on it."

"There are tools for finding out what attributes you have a affinity, tools that I don't have, so we'll have to wait until we get some, and returning to the important parts, we are leaving for the city! We can't really let me stay single and let you stay in rags for clothes right?"

.....I have the small feeling that I'm merely a afterthought....

Before I could get a chance to speak, the hero was already dragging me out by the hand, his face wearing a suspicious smile.
