Scavenger Hunt

“Keith, Cayden you’re also seeing this. Right?” Pranav said. A chill went down his spine. The three of them broke into a cold sweat. The silence was as haunting and profound as an empty theater after the final act. Cayden broke the silence. He stated that this must have been some kind of prank done by the teachers and students. The three of them immediately started rummaging through rooms. Looking for any students, or teachers. Pranav looked around level 2, Cayden looked around level 3 and Keith looked around level 4. But before the trio broke off they made sure to grab tools from the janitor’s closet just in case something bad was going to happen. They also made sure to meet up at the school cafeteria if they found anything suspicious or even if they found some students.

LEVEL 2

Pranav looked around level two. There were only 9 different rooms in this area, 14 including classrooms. Pranav first looked in room 1the room the three had just been in. the student council lounge. Pranav had brang along 3 bags. 1 was filled with clothes, toiletries, and survival supplies. The second bag was filled with snacks such as Crunchy Whimsy Bites, Fluffernutter Puffs, Zesty Twizzle Sticks, and finally SnackerJack Wafers. But the bag was only half filled. Finally, the last bag was filled with nothing, it was an empty bag. Pranav had known that they would stop at multiple destinations across the trip. Thus he brought along an empty bag so he could buy some souvenirs and gifts from stores for his family. Knowing that he had brought along a bag because he felt like it two weeks ago was now actually a four-leaf clover in disguise!

He went through the four sections of the lounge: the relaxing area, the dining area, the entertainment area, and finally the Study Nook. I first looked around the relaxing area. Pranav expected that the only place where he could find some good stuff was the dining area because there was sure to be some food and drinks in the mini-fridge. But he was pleasantly surprised. He found some cool books. He also removed the batteries of the appliances such as the TV remote and the air conditioning remote. He also managed to find some paper clips.

Pranav then made his way to the dining area. A pure gold mine for a situation like this. In the dining area, Pranav found cabinets upon cabinets of food. He first got all of the canned goods knowing that they were the only food item that would last a long time, hopefully, a couple of months. He then put in the snacks and the only cutting board and knife in the area in his bag. He also filled in his two plastic bottles from the tap since the tap water in Eldervale was clean enough to be consumed. And finally, Pranav stashed all the snacks in his bag.

After rummaging through every nook and corner of the dining area he walked towards entertainment areas. Knowing that he couldn’t use any consoles he just took the batteries from the controllers. And also took a limited edition golden controller for some nostalgic memories. Pranav walked patiently to the Study Nook. Knowing that there wouldn’t be anything important in the area, little did Pranav know that there would be 3 EMPTY notebooks and 2 unopened packs of both pens and highlighters. This would now remove the need for Pranav to go to a mall to find stationery.

Pranav also looked around the other rooms and classes. He found nothing except for two more packs of gum.

Level 3

Cayden was nonchalant about almost everything. He didn’t want even to search this place. He just wanted to be with his friends. But he just went through the level. Level 3 was the most basic level of them all. There are no special amenities except for an extra bathroom. So he just checked the classrooms and went down to the cafeteria.

Level 4

Keith was in the second most interesting part of the building, the first was level 2. At level 4 there was an Indoor Sports Hall, air-conditioned classrooms, and even the IT room! Knowing that the best place to search for first was the IT room because there would be batteries, technology, and whatnot. In the IT room, Keith found a Batter Backup (UPS), Flashlights and Batteries, Multi-Tools and Repair Kits, Networking Equipment, Solar Chargers, External Hard Drives and Data Storage, Communication Devices (walkie-talkies), First Aid Kits, Power Cords and Adapters, Shelving and Storage Containers. Since Keith didn’t bring any extra bags he then started looking around the classrooms in which he found nothing and headed into the Indoor Sports Hall. But not just to shoot some hoops. He went to the Indoor Sports Hall to go into the storage area. Luckily for him, there was a cart filled with sporting equipment. He emptied it. Put some tennis balls in case they wanted to play catch, and then put his findings into the cart and made its way to the cafeteria.

The three boys met up and prepared to pack up to leave the school they were reflecting on to check whether or not they left anything behind that could be potentially important. Then Pranav and Cayden started sprinting away. Cayden rushed up to the lounge and Pranav bolted to the General Office. Cayden started looking around the lounge until he found the one thing that he needed. Pranav on the other hand made his way to the entrance of the nurse's office. They were two very faint voices. He didn’t know whether to be afraid or to be happy. These 2 people could be students or they could be intruders who entered the school. Pranav tip-toed to the other corner of the General Office and began searching for a weapon. The best weapon he could get his hands on was a pen knife. He barged into the nurse’s office and shouted “PUT YOUR HANDS UP NOW!” The two looked behind. The people it was, was someone Pranav could never believe.
