Valring was grinning widely as she walked around the two demons. Everrath was frowning, “What is it lesser succubus?” She said with disdain.
“Watch your tone fledgling. I am a lesser one at this time but i was previously a Tier 3 Noble Succubus!” She said, her eyes shining with a sinister glare. Valring snorted and looked at Akor who was sitting at the throne. “My lord, besides their rather undisciplined attitude, they are gems among imps.” She grinned.
“How so?” Akor asked.
“You should have realized that for common minions to become Tier 2 they need at least level 10 but they also need a leading figure, or Tier 2 demon, as their house master. The reason is because there is a special power needed to evolve.” Valring said.
“Special power? What is that exactly?” Akor asked.
“My lord, you possess Demon mana, this is master’s specific energy which induced your maturing. On the other hand, these two gained a different energy, this is divine might.” She explained, “Divine might is a small drop of mana mixed with faith granted by a god and mixed into their mana. It makes their mana more pure allowing their bodies to mature. As master had seen, i can access a small bit of demon mana. As long as i level up to level 10 and train my demon mana to a specific quantity, i will mature into a tier 2 Succubus.” She said.
“So this divine might is spread among the imps after the first one appears?” Akor asked.
“Yes, it is the most common method. It is obtained by gaining the favor of the god they pledge themselves to. Of course, they obtained it from Edite and they will face a backlash for a short time by abandoning her. They can’t use magic for several weeks or maybe even month's but that doesn’t stop them from growing stronger.” She said.
The face of the blue imp turned into a scowl as she had already noticed her mana was thinned and she wasn’t restoring anymore.
“Of course, as soon as Pyarus awakens, he can instantly resolve this with a drop of divine might.” She said simply.
“Alright, let’s ignore that for now.” Akor said.
The Giant imp was pretty dumb but since gaining intelligence he had begun to learn from the surrounding imps.
“Okay, first off, each of you will be assigned to a Demon house. We will begin upgrading the houses to Tier 2. You will also learn all the support skills to improve your utility.” Akor said.
“As you wish.” Everrath said emotionlessly.
“Alright, Adok, go take them to their houses.” Akor ordered.
“Yes master! This way.” he said and guided the two away.
Akor was left alone with Valring and finally took out all the scrolls he obtained from the three captured villages.
Valring’s eyes shined and walked over.
“My lord, you are truly without comparison.” She said and began to divide them. Copies were placed next to each other in an orderly fashion.
“How many copies are needed to upgrade a research?” Akor asked.
“For the simplest upgrade, it needs 2. Master has enough for a few combat skills.” she said.
“How long does it take?” Akor asked.
Valring grinned showing off all her fangs, “For something as simple as this, it will take a few hours at most.” She said.
“Good, then get to it.” Akor said.
“At once master.” She said and took all the scrolls and headed to the basement.
Due to donating research scrolls you encountered, your town has unlocked several new research.
Researched obtained:
Warrior: Taunt skill, Warrior shout.
Archer: Keen eye, Double Shot
Mage: Rock Shot
Guild House
Akor perked up when he saw that, he didn’t check all of them so he was surprised when he saw a magic spell and a new building.

Unlocked item
Guild house
You can build a guild house and sell it to players to set up a player guild or use your Lord authority to set up an NPC guild branch of existing guilds.
Guild System
You have unlocked the guild system for your nation and now players and NPC can set up guilds. You can also designate guild houses to become a certain type of guild and the system will automatically apply the rules and regulations of the existing guild to the guild house and recruit npc as workers.
Akor smiled brightly as soon as he saw this.
Before he even placed down the village cubes he opened up the construction tab and pressed the guild house. He looked around the outside of the walls were small wood huts were appearing as the subordinates built up their homes.
He placed a guild house right next to the gate.
This moved a few of the huts and opened the construction site. The architects left the architect house very quickly and began to shout at the subordinates to go get materials. With subordinates to be bossed around by the minions, the construction proceeded at a breakneck pace and all the material was gathered and after ten minutes, the level 1 guild house, without any colors or plaque, appeared.
Congratulations, you have established your first guild house. Would you like to sell it to players or set up an NPC guild?
“NPC guild.” Akor said.
His eyes were shining because this was the best research topic for radically evolving his nation towards a path that would rapidly improve his residents as well as improve income.
Which guild branch would you like to establish?
Guilds
Adventurers Guild
The most powerful guild in the human and humanoid nations. They rarely appear in monster nations and have never appeared in the demon nations because they are enemies of humans.
Mercenary Guild
One of the strongest guilds. The Mercenary guild is responsible for being the ones who establish mercenary groups and giving them mercenary missions such as raids and other tasks.
With the current research level, these are the only two NPC guilds you can establish.
His grin was even wider as he saw that there was an extra option. He pressed the adventurers guild and suddenly the guild house began to shine as it began to slowly change. The colorless guildhouse gained a red roof and decoration while a plaque appeared over the door and a sign hung sideways in front of the door with a shield, a sword and staff crossed. The plaque said ‘Adventurers guild’.
You have established an Adventurers guild branch.
Congratulations! For being the first demon to establish the adventurers guild with the thought of revolutionizing the way demons live, you have gained the title ‘Revolutionary’.
Title:

Looking at the management page, Akor figured that the lord is the one who controls the NPC guilds like this. It is probably so that they have utmost control of the guild since they are the ones controlling the minions.
“Can you explain to me what each job entitles and their requirements?” akor asked.

The detail was very well set up and well organized and the requirements were even better because it helped to eliminate a lot of trouble to find proper imps.
The easiest to accommodate are the scholars while the hardests was clearly the Guild Leader. With only two Tier 2 demons in his city, he didn’t doubt that it would take a long time to get more since level 10 was also a requirement.
The first ones he assigned was the management head, the Vice Guild Master, then all the scholars as well followed by the merchants and the harvester. Accountant was also easy and the guards he picked from the soldier rank army imps. The second hardest to pick where the researchers. It needed both high intelligence as well as agility. This would fit with thief class but the village only had archer, warrior and mage for now.
When he pressed on it, he sighed in relief that there was actually two imps that actually fit the conditions. They were sergeants but this was more important since he could easily replace them in the army.
He assigned both to be researchers in the guild. The next hardest was the head receptionist, they were like the shop managers and could hire other receptionist but the fact that it had to be female was a bit strange but then again, this was a system requirement. There were much more so he picked the best one as the head while the secondary receptionists needed a minimum of 15 Int meaning they were able to talk at least.
All that was left was the cook and waiters.
Waiters could be anyone but the problem was that they had no cooking skill or even class. He didn’t doubt that it was easy to unlock it so instead of picking someone, he decided to put a for hire sign for both of those occupations and added a mission in the quest board.
Repeatable Quest:
Quenching the thirst
The newly built Adventurer guild has just been built but although it has a tavern, it lacks ale.
Objective:
Produce drinkable ale
Reward:
Reward depends on the ale
With the cook and waiters for hire and the ale also put for being obtained by players, he finally relaxed.
Once he accepted all the options he placed out he smiled as all the minions obtained a message and began to move to their new workplace.
Akor stood up and went to the army to replace the two sergeants before going to learn the new spell and wait for Valring to finish the research upgrades.
***
The next morning was far busier than normal. Instead of entering the game early in the morning, Lucas and Sam met up at the waiting area for taxis in their apartment complex.
Sam was well dressed while Lucas was casual, since he didn’t have newer clothing, he could only wear his casual wear.
“I can’t wait! I will be on Tv!” Sam said bubbly despite it being only 7am.
Soon enough the car arrived, it was, like most cars, havering at the side of the building in a designated zone for their specific building.
The two of them were the only ones in their building going with this transport so they got in.
Sam was bubbly but Lucas was calm. Still, he was inwardly anxious, which was normal for all the people going on television the first time.
At the studio’s backstage they saw that there were already some players there waiting. They all had to undergo some small touch ups to make them look better on television if only for aesthetics.
Lucas was against it and just stood at the side but the female players traded tips with the professional make up crew while all the males looking at the female backstage crew members and female players.
“Alright everyone, please proceed over here and we will install the microphones.” one of the crew shouted.
Several people came in and brought very tiny objects which was placed on their shirt and a small earplug that was fully hidden in their ear. Obviously these were earpieces for communication and the mic which had all undergone massive technological upgrades over the last centuries from when they were created.
They were pretty much spy gear compared to their ancestors with how small they were now.
Lucas was one of the few more uncomfortable ones as he had the item placed on his shirt at distance where it could get his voice. The main problem was the proximity of the person putting it on that he didn’t really like.
“So how are you doing?” Sam asked as they finished getting ready.
Her makeup had been improved a bit and lifted up her natural beauty instead of forcing ‘good’ looks on her. Lucas actually preferred how she was now compared to the makeup she did before coming.
“The noise and constant movement is a bit annoying.” he said bluntly.
“As expected of a shut in like you.” She replied with a laugh.
To the side a lord player noticed their interaction and walked over. “Hi, I’m Vince, I’m one of the lord players.” He said.
“Hello, I’m Sam, I’m a Demon lord.” Sam replied..
“Really? I’m an Elf lord.” He replied and looked at Lucas.
“Lucas… demon lord.” He replied awkwardly.
Sam giggled, “Don’t mind him, he is a little socially awkward.” She said.
“You two are close? Do you know each other long?” he asked.
“Not really, we met the first time in the meeting of the lord players.” She replied.
“Eh?” he looked between the two before a strange expression formed on his face. “So… you two are already…” he began but Sam’s face turned dark.
“No!” she said.
Vince raised his brow with a confused expression and continued to look between them and shook his head, “Well whatever. Anyway, my avatar is called Gwen Holytree, what about you guys?” he said.
“Ah! You were one of the top 10 lords likely to fail before suddenly getting off!” Sam said in shock.
Vince smiled at being recognized. “Yes i am.” he said a bit proud.
“I’m Ulra.” Sam introduced.
“Ulra? Demon lord… ah! I remember now, you were… #3 i think when the ranks came out. In other words we were both from the worst lords list.” He said.
“That list is really bias.” She scoffed.
The two laughed while Lucas just looked on. When Vince finally looked at him, his gaze asked the question.
“Akor.” Lucas said simple.
“Eh? Previous #1 who suddenly jumped to #50 and then raised back to #30? The person people call ‘the boring slowpoke’?” He asked.
Lucas’ face suddenly twitched, “Since when was i called that?” He asked.
“Since when? Probably after a week of playing, people called you that because you rarely hunted, barely faught and the few fights were only capture missions. Everyone wonders what kind of gameplay you want to do with demons going such a strange route which constantly pisses off the demon gods.” he said.
Lucas finally understood and snorted without replying.
The questions asked on the show he might answer but those privately asked were really optional. Also he felt irritated about learning what people thought of his gaming style.
It actually made him think, “Does everyone thing demons have to be bloodthirsty to be worth anything?” he wondered as he looked at the person in front of him.
Seeing Lucas not replying Vince shrugged and turned to Sam. “If i remember correctly, you are currently #40 in the ranks. I usually watch the lord rankings and went to see what happened. I believe you just planted your 2nd demon heart right?” he asked.
“Second, why are you only in the second, didn’t you plant more when you were in tutorial zone?” Lucas sudden asked Sam.
She smiled wryly.
“The mana springs in the hellish badlands are all large springs. They give between 8-10 stats each but the distance is really far apart unlike for you who has small or small-medium sized which are within 20 km of each other.” she said.
“Oh… i see.” Lucas said and nodded.
He actually found it made sense. Remembering the environment and difficulties faced by the demon players in the badland, he could understand why they were far off. The badland players would face intense food shortage until they can develop enough strength to wrestle it from the hand of demon beasts.
Sam already had close to 20 secondary villages like the one Lucas obtained. These fill the territory while the ones made with the mana spring expand the territory or define its borders. It just went to show even more that environment dictated the gameplay style.
After the mics were handed out, it was already 7:30 and the actual show was already underway. At 7:35 the top adventurer type players were called out. They each had a pretty large name in the game due to the ranking list.
Although [Magic Life] wasn’t the most popular game, there were still close to a few billion people player through from other planets.
The interview went for around 10 minutes for all the five invited players and then the ‘best lords’ were called.
A similar time was spent on them until finally the ‘worse’ lords were called.
