On a Certain Day: Part 4

Reclamation

-The God of Retributions POV-

For the past 500,000 years of despair I felt since that day. The day I certainly wouldn’t forget. That day I witnessed before my own eyes, the sacrificial ritual I was unable to interfere at the last moment. For 500,000 years, I swore to reclaim what was stolen from my life. I swore to obtain the necessary strength to once more fight. For 500,000 years I battled for the Gods of Death. Just to revive one soul, the one soul that I failed to protect. Now, today I acquired the means to beat down any who might think their means were just. Who think that other lives are only needed for sacrificial means, and don’t give a damn about the individual’s soul. I, today, am taking back what is mine. No one shall stop me, nor hinder my retribution.

“Lilith, that body does not belong to you. Return it now, and you might be let off with only your soul’s demise.” I spat.

“Oh?! You think that only after a short disappearance of time. A young upstart may be able to fight me?!” laughs out that voice I haven’t heard since long ago, but now I only hear another voice. The one who possessed the body of my beloved. Who will receive no mercy at my hands.

“Yes, I dare declare so. For an old hag like you possessing that body only stains, not improves.” I smirk.

At that insult, the cute face I fell for, turned into an unknown facial feature of anger I don’t care for. “For that insult, DIE!”

A massive wave of void magic assaulted my senses. I calmly activated the shield I also casted on that young existence. I shall make you regret once and for all, for awakening my wrath.

I slowly walk over within the shield, neither dodging nor pretending that her attacks actually hit.

For that short petite figure of a human shaped woman, who let off a feeling of scorn and anger. Her appearance resembled what I dearly remembered, but the ritual destroyed any feelings of affection. Wings that were larger than her, shined in violet obsidian, tanned skin, Silver hair that ran down to her knees, and those eyes of pure green which drew me in so many times. Wearing a dark dress unfitting of her. Yet now, I must reclaim that body from her.

Yet that Shar stone embedded into her head shall turn to dust once I’m done.

“WHAT!?! Why isn’t it working?!” Lilith keeps shouting in bewilderment over and over.

“A stolen body that isn’t your own, will never willingly fight against those that it cherished most of all in its life. What part of that don’t you understand? Only a body of your own may release all of its power, yet you think that body doesn’t remember? Your naiver than I thought. Especially since that toy called Typhonous wasn’t able to do a thing, you think that you would? Since I’m the last one alive who even knows how much pain I witnessed my friends go through after defeating it. I’ll repay upon you a hundred fold, but even you yourself are a puppet with strings attached.”

I raise my both my hands. Chanting a spell, I learned during my life and death brawls. The spell of soul binding and separation. A high tier spell. At the hands of an inexperienced caster, harm would only befall.

Restraining her as if it was the easiest thing in the world. I arrive before her. Looking down upon that face of anger. I pick her up and bring her to that table I searched far and wide for, An old Cthulhu relic. Which had the power to transfer the body and soul. Once was used for experimental practices, fell into disuse when those that knew how to operate such a thing, were no longer alive.

I threw her onto the table, ignoring her “Let me Go! Don’t you even care about what will happen to this body anymore?!”

“Of course I do. Why do you think I threw you onto this table? Do you not recognize this?” I pointed here and there. Then I took out of my robe’s storage space, a jar. This contained the soul of the one I went through so much effort to reclaim. Placing it upon the circular space specifically designed for the jar.

Looking around on her current state, the face instantly turns pale. Trembles of fear wrack her entire body.

“Good, seems that even you can show fear, Lilith. Remember this the NEXT time you try to pull such a stunt before me. I will destroy you. But, for today I shall show mercy since you’re not the one I vowed vengeance on.”

Pressing a Reverse-Arrow-icon on the small stone along the rim of the table. A reverse ritual I long sought for begins.

Screams of agony, curses, and foul language assault my ears. Turning a blind sight before the spectacle. I await the end result.

The tentacle like objects quickly restrain her desperate attempts at breaking the seal I cast. The tentacles began to drain the power from her, causing Lilith to pant. Her struggles getting weaker, till finally I sensed the switching of souls. The one from the body went to the jar, while the one in the jar obtained the body. As if on Que, that diamond shaped Shar stone fell from her forehead. Catching it, I deftly crushed it in my hands, then opening to watch the sand fall to the floor.

“Since you’ve obtained what you wanted, you don’t mind if I reclaim what I also hold dear?”

Says a voice I once admired, but feel no sense to show once again towards. I turn around, making sure to keep one eye on the body I went through so much to retake.

“So, what brings you to my dwelling, Lucifer?”
