Earth – World of The Misplaced Dungeon
{Timeline: December 2018 – MD around and shortly after Ch. 64}
Agent Jeremiah Walker of the newly convened Paranormal Division of the FBI was checking the incoming category one, two and three messages.
He read the category one messages first, and filed them all as urgent but not important. Today he had five category two messages. Those were actually likely to be both urgent and important so he checked them next.
David Fitzwilliam and his wife had met with Markus Wrangel again and all three had obtained tickets for Australia. Possibly important but not urgent.
Mary Silvestre’s Jeep now possessed a force screen capable of bouncing .50 calibre bullets and stopping an RPG-7. Interesting, route to the Armed forces. Ms Silvestre seemed willing to sell these things.
Kids choosing to become Werewolves and Vampires. How had this made it to category two he didn’t know. Oh right Mary Silvestre. He sighed and called up his System interface. Walker felt the hair at the back of his neck stand up. Urgent and Important he decided and kicked it up the chain with a detailed description.
Japan’s new clan of two tailed Kitsunes had escaped their quarantine and vanished. Well not urgent and not important.
Mary Silvestre again; Invisible well armed leopard girl bodyguard. Kick that one upstairs too.
Finally he went through the category three messages and he found a disturbing confirmation to the fears raised by Mary Silvestre through her defence detail. He queried the agents winnowing the category four and five reports and found another two hits. He attached all the relevant reports and sent them after the report regarding Werewolves and Vampires.

The governing council of the newly formed Paranormal Division of the FBI was convened, Agent Jeremiah Walker somewhat reluctantly found himself attending it.
“So Mr Walker what do you have for us about all these killings.”
“Ms Perez, they all match the expected pattern. Where we have a wild animal getting into a family home and slaughtering the majority of the family the chances are good the survivor is a werewolf. Where family members are weakened and die of anaemia over the course of three to five days we have a Vampire.”

“So what did the Girl suggest?” asked the man sitting to the right of the director of the Paranormal Division.
“Nothing sir. She brought it to our attention and told us where to find the verifying details on the System. Her bodyguard reported she didn’t consider it a profitable use of her time to clean up after idiots.”
“How many agents do we have that can use that evaluate skill to check the survivors? And how are we going to check all the schools for romantic idiots?”
“Romantic?”
“Yes Denver, romantic. If most of these idiots aren’t being influenced by the paranormal romances involving werewolves and vampires. Oh gods!” Said director Perez in exasperation.
Jeremiah Walker kept quiet and waited for any further questions as his superiors bickered among themselves while reluctantly coming to realize that they would have to say something to the public at large in order to try to prevent further tragedies.
Finally just when Walker was certain he had been forgotten, his boss Otis Denver turned to him and asked. “Any suggestion as to how we can deal with these people Walker?”
“Sir! If any of the werewolves have killed then even if they might be able to plead insanity, lock them up until a better solution comes up. If we get to them on time then lock them up on the three days of the full moon. Again until a better solution comes up.
“As for the Vampires. They’re dead and need to drain life force from their victims to exist. They use the victim’s blood to carry the life force they steal. Unless they were clever when they chose their race they will not even be – themselves. The basic vampire is an animated corpse that will become desiccated and is near mindless. I honestly don’t see how we can keep them alive if we do capture them.”
“We can’t just kill them Walker. They are citizens and from what you say not responsible for their actions,” objected Denver.
“I’m sorry sir, but they need to feed from people and even one feeding can kill. How can we keep them alive?”
Denver looked furious. “We just have to. We can’t allow citizens in custody to die. Maybe if we use volunteers.”

Eden Forrester felt faint after watching the program produced by the FBI’s Paranormal Division. He and Kathy had nearly made a huge mistake. The program had reminded him of something he had seen on the gamer blogs. Maybe he could find it again.
Later that evening when Kathy finally showed up after her stint in the local burger joint they went over all the things he had found.
“So Eden when are we going to do this?”
“Whenever you’re ready Kathy.”
They both drew a deep breath and called up their startup menus. “So what are we going with Kathy.”
“Werebears are cool.”
So both selected their race as werebear, then they refined their choice, skimming the information available. There was something close but not exact so they started complaining and demanding changes from the System.
After a couple of hours they succeeded and they were the first to gain a manageable were. Unfortunately for them the monogamous lifelong breeding imperative they had insisted on would come to cause them and others plenty of grief in the future.
