A Chuunibyou's Life in Another World!
Traveling creates secluded masters

Traveling creates secluded masters

After restocking in his hometown, he set off to the mountains. It would be at least a month of travel, two weeks to reach the Arcane Forest, and two weeks more to walk deep in the mountains.

While traveling back to the forest, he met a few merchants traveling. Taking the opportunity, he decided to buy a few things. Clothes, mostly. He didn't think about where he would sleep before, but now that he saw the merchant, he decided it was a good idea to make some kind of bed out of clothes. Funny thing was when the merchant started talking about news and rumors. It's a strange feeling when you hear news of your own death.

Nevertheless, that only confirmed the fact that his death is spreading. So he made haste to the mountains, he didn't want to bump into a mage who could see past his illusion.

After two long weeks of travel, he finally reached the Arcane Forest. After so much traveling, he felt like he would never get out of his training place until the last day he had to go to the city. Or maybe he could be one of those secluded monsters? So powerful, but away from everything and everyone. Maybe they're so far away from everything because they hate traveling as well?

Nevertheless, entering the Arcane Forest means that there will be Magical Beasts attacking. Even though the level of those beasts were rather low, it was best to keep cautious. After a few days traveling in the forest, he met a magical beast. It was a Fire Tiger. Which is basically a Tiger who can use fire magic.

Magical beasts were honestly kind of weak. They didn't have strong bodies, just some magic. Their magic was strong, sure, but they died easily. Just like real mages in games, where they're glass cannons. Savage Beasts, on the other hand, were cultivating beasts. They could use Qi to attack at a distance, so they were strong and had resistent bodies. They were the true threat to the human race. That was a funny thing to notice. Because the humans thought magic to be stronger, but the beasts showed us otherwise. This was other thing that made Hiro suspicious about the true leaders of the world.

As the tiger threw a fireball at him, Hiro simply put up a Greater Ward from the Restoration branch. The only branch that had defensive spells against magic. Sure, alteration could make your skin as tough as steel, but that would be better against physical attacks.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

The fireball was simply dispelled in the ward, taking a bit of the ward's mana with it. But otherwise, it was harmless. Hiro kept the ward up with one hand and started a spell in the other. Cold air gathered in his hand as he prepared Ice Lance, an Adept level Destruction magic. As the little ball of mana condensed and was ready to be launched, it was possible to see various runes etched in the floating ball of mana. It was roughly the size of a tennis ball. When the Tiger took a jump to try sending magic from another direction, Hiro took the chance to snipe him from the air. The ball was aimed at the tiger, and out of the ball came a lance of ice flying at it. It was fast and around one meter and a half long. It went right through the defenseless tiger.

As the tiger whimpered before death, Hiro finished him off with an Apprentice level spell, Sparks.

"It's been a while since This King last had meat. Thankfully, this little cat delivered himself to me." Hiro said as he promptly began taking the tiger apart. Magical beasts like these, normaly had a Core Soul in their body. Something like the human's heart is their core. But in magical beasts, it's a kind of gem. Their energy could be used to enchant items with the right runes. It could also recharge enchantments from an unpowered enchanted item. That makes them mildly valuable.

Finishing up with the tiger's meat, he took all the washed meat, courtesy of conjuring some water, and stored in his ring. It didn't have anything as convenient as time stasis, but that simply meant that he should eat it soon and hunt regularly for meat. As for the tiger's core, he used it instantly in his ring. It disappeared when he channeled his mana through it into the item.

With a little smile, he kept going deep into the mountains, with all beasts that dared block his way, mercilessly became food and fuel.

After all, even a King doesn't have the patience to deal peacefully with attackers.
